I began the first
years of my life, in a little town called Marbury, Alabama.
I moved to Gulf Coast at about the age of seven. Reading
was already a hobby of mine at that age. I actually
cannot recall NOT knowing how to read.
As a child I spent many hours with my best friends,
books! When I wasn't reading, I was daydreaming about
the books I would someday write, and eventually began
to put my thoughts on paper, and hide them. My favorite
childhood book was "The Boxcar Children".
At the age of eleven I was daydreaming in school, and
writing childish mysteries, hiding them in the back
of my notebook. By the time I became a teenager poetry
was flowing from my pen, and still, I hid my secret
words. Years later more serious thoughts were created
in ink, and my dream to write was still alive! I even
tried my hand at acting in high school plays put on
by the Drama Club. The role I enjoyed playing most was
the part of Helen Keller, as there were no lines to
memorize, and only actions to speak for words. I found
I enjoyed writing the words, more so than vocalizing
them. I wrote plays, poetry, mysteries, short stories,
anything that hit my fancy, and I hid them all!
At the age of 31 I married, and I have two beautiful
children. My writing slowed a bit through these years,
but once again, inspired by their youth, I dipped my
pen in gold dust ink, and out spilled the mystical stories
of the BooDinie Bird. As the words painted a picture
before their eyes, I watched the plainness of white
paper come alive in magical colors! I discovered my
dream still lives, I live to write, and I write to live...
