million years ago. A vast conifer forest greens the
landscape, home to the dominant species: the dinosaurs.
The monstrous reptiles rule the planet still, but not
for much longer. Four light years away, a cataclysmic
explosion in a neighbouring star system sends a planet-killing
rock hurtling directly towards Earth. At the precise
instant of the blast, three dinosaurs hatch in the Mother
Forest, each sporting on their forehead a distinctive
white birthmark in the prophetic shape of a star .
Eight years later, Bronte of the Thunderfeet reluctantly
grows up. A rebellious teen destined to lead her herd,
she's one of the disfigured calves now entering adulthood,
as is her rambunctious Duckbill pal, Chappy. They are
visited one starry night by Gideon, a mysterious and
alien being warning them of the coming disaster, revealing
also their true nature as the Chosen: marked reptiles
capable of undergoing a transformation into a creature
that will survive the impact. The only drawback is,
just one of the pair can be saved. But the third player
is the son of the dread Killjaw King, a fanged tyrant
determined to promote his own offspring as The Chosen
One.
