In the third novel
of the Kincaid trilogy, the Kincaid brothers build their
ranch and prepare for the unknown … a cattle drive
to bring their first herd to market. Tal, Ken and Billy
Kincaid are living in Mystery, Texas and are in the
process of building a working cattle ranch from the
proceeds of the treasure Tal had found on his return
to Mystery from Abilene. Tal and Ken have married and
are establishing their own families. Billy is living
at the main ranch with Tal and Em while he learns the
difficult task of managing an active ranch and how to
be a productive member of the team to get their first
herd to market. The brothers face many dangers as they
attempt to move a large herd of cattle over the trail
to the railhead.
