Chapter 5 - An Almost Accord
My eyes zigzagged between looking for an escape , looking for an opening and watching for the ground.
In my head I went over a small mental map I had confidence in and layed it with where I expected the others to be. About a four minute distance to my left by run I estimated, too far to be of help.
My eyes flickered back to their faces.
Vick and Brovy huh.
I was confident I could outrun them but..... A flashback of the impact that had rocked my vision stayed my hand.
There was a chance I'd be striked from behind if there was just one of them. But with two ?
I had a feeling I'd die if I run.
The feeling wasn't certain, and it wasn't as strong as it had been in the past on worse matters.
But it was strong enough.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
I reached within my cloak and grabbed two small daggers and gauged the distance between us.
I'd have to be qui-
"Hey Spider." A voice echoed across the way.
"How about you join us ? "
My blades paused in my hands.
The shirtless mage I now knew as Vick put his hands on his head as he continued
"Yea man. I see no reason to die right now. I mean, Us two are basically guaranteed a spot. Two mages walking around, " he shook his head snidely " were basically unstoppable. "
"But you spider..yoube been making waves yourself. I've heard the rumors. Thirty people ? Really? Thirty. And you didn't even have too. Now, you're a savage.
He sighed "And seeing how you've dodged my attack, and how Brovy wants to avoid problems, I guess I'll let you live. "
He took his hand and made a shoo gesture.
"Go on now then Spider , Scadadle. "
My mind went blank as the words echoed.
'I guess I'll let you live '
'I guess I'll let you live '
' I guess I'll let you live. '
A deep memory resurfaced. Its words spoken by a deep evil voice.
"Go on then boy. Leave quick while I still let you live. "
Spiders mind went blank.
