Prologue

It was unusually quiet in Tokyo,Japan. One can say it was almost too quiet to even be ignored. The wind of the moonlit night was cold, and brought forth ominous feelings even in dreams. Standing in this moonlit night on a tall office building was a young woman. She was about 20 years of age, wore a pink skirt with a white blazer. Her hair was blonde, an unusual thing in japan. Her eyes were an enchanting green and she had a smile on her face, thought strained it may be. The cause of her strained smile was a man across from her.

He had black hair, long and tied in a ponytail. He wore a white t-shirt and blue jeans and black shoes. What tied his hair was a red pony tail, possibly for extra luck. The womens name was Akeno Toujo and the man was one Wen Gong. They both stared at each other, not one of them saying a word. The tension between them was very thick, so thick even a knife could not cut through it. Gong and Akeno just stared at each other, until Akeno felt that she should break through the tension with her words.

"Hello Gong, nice to meet you in Tokyo city" she said to the man across from her. "Well, Beijing got boring so I came here for a visit" said Gong. They both spoke in a familiar tone, seemingly showing their closeness, even if they were not friends to say the least. "Oh, just a visit? With you, there is never just a visit Gong" said Akeno. She was right about Gong though. Everywhere Gong went, something followed. It was either a fight or something of that scale. Akeno never trusted his word when he said 'just a visit'.

"Well you are right Akeno, I did come here for something else" said Gong as he formed a sign with his hands. His veins glowed a malicious red and began forming a ball in front of Gong. This ball of malicious red energy began forming into a huge bird and shot towards Akeno. Akeno was no slouch and defended herself using a barrier type spell. She then began to harness her energy and began using to form something powerful yet tenacious. It began forming into lightning and she harnessed it pristine ease. She molded this lightning into a spear and sent it towards Gong with ease and the spear itself let off a huge roar.

The sound seemingly pierced through the night, but not the flesh of Gongs own abdoment which he swiftly avoided. The sound did not even stir the residences of Tokyo, possibly due to a magical technique employed by Gong before he met with Akeno, a technique that even Akeno knew as basic magic. <>, a spell that created a replica of a certain place in a seperate dimension. It was commonly used by magicians to not interfere with mortals with their duels. Of course, not all magicians cared about the lives of non-practitioneers. In fact, they were in many, but for Gong, he did not want anybody to disturb their duel.

"Well played Akeno, but you cannot defeat me" said Gong as more red malicious energy began to eminate from his body. This energy was forming into beings of malicious intent, a type of evil spirit like a curse or nightmare. Akeno was familiar with this craft, though it was only bare knowledge of its principles. "Yin arts?" asked Akeno, who already knew the answer but still felt compelled to ask. "Why, how perceptive of you. Yes it is yin arts" said Gong. Yin arts was a practice mainly rooted in darkness. In fact, it was not bound by evil but those who practiced it usually were drawn towards the demonic path. Of course, the practitioneers were mainly women as men practiced the Yang arts.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Gong was one of the rare few men who practiced yin arts. "Well then, I guess I should watch out for impurity huh" said Akeno. "Well it would be wise" said Gong in a tone that had the undertone of 'Duh'. Akeno quickly prepared a purity charm in order to combat the eventual impurities made by the yin arts. Akeno then gathered immense magical power in her hand and began forming a sword of flames that burned ever so bright, that its heat could melt diamonds if she tried to use it that way. She swung her sword in Gongs direction, with Gong forming a blade of ice. It was cold, far colder than antartica. Its temperature if it was measured could come out to be atleast negative 100. The moisture content in the air began to crystalise and form tiny balls of ice when in contact with Gong's spear.

Akeno and Gong began the fight, a flaming sword against the cold spear. As their weapons made contact with each other, clangs rang out in the air. The heat of the sword never waivered against the cold, and the cold spear never waivered agains the heat of the blade. It was almost a stalemate actually, but the spear was overcomeing Akeno's sword. She pushed more mana into it, trying to enhance it's power, her training in kenjutsu shining through. The overwhelming power of Gong though, began pushing her back. Akeno knew she might lose and she might die, but she had a plan to escape. While Gong was distracted using his spear to hopefully pierce Akeno's side, Akeno was preparing a spell in secret. She was preparing a formula that will emit a sense imparing mist that will allow her to escape. She then activated the formula by stamping down her right foot and yelled "Come forth, Mist!".

Spraying from the pad of her foot, the mist eminated from her. It began to impare the senses of Gong, to which she needed. The mist itself was purple with a mix of gray, and it was heavy and had a hot temperature of 90 degrees. She then struck open a crack in the <> and escaped into the night of Tokyo, leaving Gong behind to look for her as the mist wore off. "Dammit! She got away!" he said to the wind. He felt angry he could not kill her, and his boss definitely won't be happy about the news either. "Well, I better report or my life be forfeit" Gong said to himself as he left the hidden world and transported himself back to Beijing.

  ____Notes___

Wen Gong- Wen is the surname of Gong, as in China, they write their last name first and given name after.

Akeno Toujo- While I introduced Wen Gong with last name then first name, I introduced Akeno with the western style. Though in Japan, they would say the family name first then their name.

Yin Arts- A branch of magic present in this world. It is based on the Yin part of the Yin-Yang symbol and principle in China. It usually deals with the negative aspects and the female half. Rarely used by men as Yang is what most men use.
