More than a year and a half has passed since I began posting The Trials of the Lion here on Royal Road. The support, feedback, and enthusiasm have been a real fire in my heart. Ulrem's journey is far from complete: I am building towards a real storm. I have a clear end-point in mind, and that will take several books to tell. To put him on that path, it is time for the story to take a leap of faith. I am publishing The Trials of the Lion on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited--and soon, Audible.

  As many readers may know, working with Amazon means coming to terms with their exclusivity clause. To satisfy that requirement, I will be leaving the first arc of The Trials of the Lion--"Beneath the Broken Tower" here on Royal Road as a sample. I must remove the remainder of the arcs, through "A Bargain of Blood and Flame."

To celebrate the release of the book, I am currently publishing chapters of Smoke and Steel, a novella set after The Trials of the Lion, every Wednesday and Saturday. And that's just the beginning of what I have in store...
