Chapter 10 | Luciel La Lebrador

Obviously, Luciel's appetite isn't particurly rge. The reason she made so many dishes was to feed Xanthia.

She admitted that she often gets carried away with her imagination. After impulsively making all the dishes, she realized what she'd done and found herself feeling a bit sore.

  Luciel's familia isn’t wealthy; they’re considered middle-css.

They live in a typical town in Thessaloniki. Her father works at the local gss factory, and due to his seniority, he holds a middle-management position. Her mother runs a hair salon in the town. Their combined income is more than enough to support Luciel.

Her parents dote on her, their only daughter. Luciel’s lifestyle and expenses are not inferior to those of girls from more urban backgrounds, and she always has plenty of pocket money.

This is mainly because Luciel has been sensible and ambitious since she was young. Her exam scores in junior high were already good enough to gain entry to the best high school in the province. But she wasn't satisfied and passed the entrance exam for Thessaloniki High School.

However, when she wasn’t pced in the top two experimental csses, she secretly cried. She had always been in the best csses from elementary school to junior high based on her own abilities.

Later, after discovering that although Css 3 of the first year seemed like a "regur css," the teaching resources allocated to it were nearly the same as those for the top two experimental csses, she felt more at ease. She secretly vowed to catch up, as she is a girl with strong aspirations and determination.

The top high school in the provincial capital gathers the best students from the province, so the competition is naturally intense. Luciel calmly accepted the fact that she ranked 27th in the css and 116th in the grade during the diagnostic test. However, as long as she could maintain a ranking around the top 100 in the year, getting into a prestigious university would be easy.

Luciel wasn't intimidated by the competitive pressure. With high school just starting, everyone was on the same starting line, and she was confident in her ability to catch up and surpass her peers.

In short, Luciel’s parents are absolutely confident in their precocious and sensible daughter. No matter how indulgent they are, they don’t worry about spoiling her.

The reason Luciel felt sore was simple. Although she has a lot of pocket money, she spends it wisely. She rarely makes impulsive purchases.

When shopping online, she insists on collecting coupons and reaching minimum purchase amounts for discounts. When shopping at the supermarket, she likes to buy discounted items and take advantage of offers.

She's not stingy or frugal; it’s just her nature. Perhaps because she excels in mathematics and is very sensitive to numbers, she aims for the best value for her money.

Before offering food to Xanthia, Luciel, of course, thought carefully about how to ask without hurting her pride.

She had interacted with cssmates from poor familias in junior high and had extended a helping hand as much as she could. However, some sensitive cssmates had refused her kindness and even became jealous and resentful, accusing her of trying to present herself as a hypocritical saint.

Luciel’s exceptionally beautiful appearance and strong personality made her both easy to approach and a target for criticism. Fortunately, she is internally strong and does everything with a clear conscience.

"Xanthia, could I have some of the vegetarian dishes you ordered?" Luciel asked tentatively.

Xanthia looked slightly puzzled but generously replied, "Of course, feel free to take whatever you like, no need to be polite."

Having someone help with her "clean pte campaign" was great, especially when the person was so beautiful.

It was a little sad to think that Xanthia had never had a pretty girl accompany her for a meal in the cafeteria from high school to college.

She couldn’t help but take a closer look at Luciel, who had shoulder-length hair with airy bangs, chestnut-colored hair with some natural curls, and imposing phoenix-like eyes. Her facial features were extremely delicate.

Luciel’s beauty had a kind of aggressive charm about it, so it was no wonder that boys all recognized her as the "css flower," yet none had the courage to make a move.

Additionally, it was a bit regrettable that Thessaloniki First High School had strict rules about student attire to prevent comparison. Aside from weekends, students were required to wear uniforms every day. These uniforms weren’t the Japanese-style ones but cssic loose bck-and-white sportswear that concealed the girls' figures, given the mostly cold climate, thus reducing Luciel’s charm.

Seeing Xanthia’s generosity, Luciel couldn’t help but feel some admiration. She thought this girl didn’t seem as sensitive or introverted as rumored.

Xanthia’s inherent "Social Butterfly" traits also continued to shine, leaving a positive impression on Luciel during their interaction.

After casually eating a few bites of Xanthia's vegetarian dish, Luciel picked up a pork chop from her own pte and pced it on Xanthia’s pte. "Xanthia, I won’t just take your vegetarian dish for free. I’ll exchange it with my meat dish. I accidentally ordered too much meat today and definitely can’t finish it. To avoid wasting food, I’ll have to ask for your help."

Xanthia was momentarily stunned but didn’t refuse outright. She felt this action seemed familiar.

Being well-versed in online novels, she immediately recalled how, in order not to let a poor girl go hungry, the male protagonist used this method to increase her favorability.

Xanthia’s favorability, of course, wasn’t successfully increased, but it must be said that Luciel, with her beauty, had already won her favor.

However, Xanthia naturally wouldn’t pretend to be a poor girl just to take advantage of others. She responded, "Luciel, I can help you finish the extra dishes today, but I hope you won’t do this in the future... Have you misunderstood something?"

Luciel thought to herself, where did I misunderstand? Clearly, it’s because of your pride that you’ve been unwilling to accept my kindness for so long. But I just can’t stand seeing you go hungry every day, especially when you’re so thin...

As a confident and strong-willed girl, Luciel inevitably had a bit of self-righteousness, firmly believing in her own judgment, no matter the circumstances.

Because of her excellent first impression of Xanthia, now that she was in close contact with her, Luciel realized that despite often keeping her head down, Xanthia had a delicate and charming face. Her skin, which Luciel envied as "porcein white," radiated a vulnerability that was quite endearing.

How could she bear to let such a beautiful girl go hungry? So, she coddled her like one would a child, saying indulgently, "Maybe I did misunderstand after all. Anyway, you must eat your fill today!"
