Chapter 3 - A te night encounter with a fairy.
I wake up to a smack to the face from sakura, who is sleeping to my right. Looking over I see she is doing a good job of gradually edging Amelia, who is on her other side, towards the edge of the bed. To my left, Angelica is cuddling up to me as if I'm a pillow, and next to her, Miki is doing an equally good job of gradually pushing her further into me.
‘Like mother, like daughter, I suppose. They both have terrible sleeping habits.’ I thought, moving her hand from my face.
Sleeping together as a family has been our norm since I was born. Well except for my “dad”, whoever that is. I tried to inquire about him once, but my family seemed perplexed, as if they had no idea of who I was asking about. The bnk looks on their faces was rather disturbing.
I try to close my eyes and fall back asleep, but after a few futile minutes, I decide to get up. Extracting myself from the tangle of limbs, I cautiously make my way out of bed. In the process, I nearly pull Yuno along with me, her hand gripping my leg firmly.
With a gentle shake of my head, I carefully release her grip and carry her back to Amelia, tucking her into her arms. Gncing back, the rest of them are deeply asleep.
Technically, not all of us need sleep. Amelia and Miki don't need to but they recover much more rapidly with rest, so it's become a regur part of our routine. Personally, I find sleeping enjoyable, so I have no compints.
I quietly exit the door and begin heading towards the living room. Our home is akin to a medieval duplex, with houses adjoined side by side, sharing walls with neighbors. The upper floor houses our bedroom, a pyroom, and Miki’s workshop. There, she crafts the poisons and antidotes she supplies to the adventurers' guild. The ground floor comprises the living room, a storage area, and a combined undry and bathroom.
There's no kitchen, as adults in this world do not need food. We still indulge in meals during celebrations, like New Year's, but it's more for enjoyment than necessity.
No need for a toilet either; everything we consume is converted into magical energy. Children only require milk, and the amount diminishes as they grow. I, being only level 3, still need a fair amount of it.
You might be wondering about the kind of milk we consume, and yes, it's breast milk, specifically from Amelia. I tend to not dwell on it too much, I am especially grateful that I don't have to obtain it directly from the source, despite Amelia's insistence.
My train of thought is interrupted by a flickering light emanating from the living room.
‘What's that?’ I wonder to myself. Before I could get a chance to use Observe, time freezes and a screen materializes before me. A female voice excims, "Date Starto!".
‘That st one was new,’ I think, surprised by the sudden shout.
[A living room te-night date.]

Closing that brought up the choice menu.

Before making a choice, I decided to use Observe on the fairy. It was gradually turning into a habit, even though much of the information I received was either annoying or redundant.

A newborn fairy, not yet possessing an attribute. According to a tale your mother once told you, such a fairy wanders in search of magical sources to feed on.]
‘I had forgotten all about the little fairy story.’ I mused, as memories of the story Amelia told me once at bedtime started to resurface. Observe only reveals information I'm already aware of or could infer after some thought. And levels below 30, but that's a common skill among others, so it doesn't feel particurly unique.
I once attempted to inquire how others could discern levels so effortlessly, but it only resulted in Amelia becoming more concerned. Her attempts to expin were akin to describing colors to a blind person.
Shooing the thought away and refocusing on the choice menu, I noticed a third option, glowing gold, had emerged.
3. Feed the fairy some of your magic.
‘That's new.’ I remembered trying to use magic objects with the technique Amelia showed me, but nothing ever happened.
Still, my curiosity overpowered my caution, and I selected the third option. My body repeated the motions I had performed dozens of times before.
I closed my eyes. ‘First, clear your mind, let the world fade away. Feel every part of your body. Then, let everything fade except for the tip of your finger.’
At first, I thought nothing happened, as usual, until I felt a slight tingle at my fingertip. Opening my eyes, I was surprised to see the fairy perched on the tip of my finger.

"Huh?" I stared at the prompt, bewildered to discover I could lose Love Points.
‘Does that mean I use love points instead of mana? Oh well, I have plenty of them anyway. My sisters are constantly giving me more along with the influx I get every New Years. And it's not like I use them for anything else so I might as well feed her.’ Every New Year, I receive a notification that everything has been restored to max, along with a bundle of Love Points from everyone with cards. I get twice the amount of their Affection in Love Points from all my sisters. Additionally, I receive Love Points randomly throughout the year from the three of them. While I have Affection with other people, I only receive Love Points from those whose cards I possess.

The little fairy began to dance happily around the tip of my finger, and I watched it with a smile.

After a hundred points were drained, the fairy started to glow a bright pink color. The light sted a few seconds before fading. Hovering above my finger was now a miniature girl, enveloped in a soft pink light, looking at me with curiosity.

Puzzled, I asked myself, "What is a Love Fairy?"

The fairy nded gently on my hand, making a charming 'u' sound and tilting her head slightly to the left.
‘Is she waiting on a name?’ I wonder, I have never been one to name things. “I don't know, cupid?”
She puffs up her cheeks at the name and gives me a cute gre.
[The name has been rejected.]
‘I got that, you stupid pop up.’ It feels like I'm dealing with an irritating ad on a pirate site. I sigh, reminiscing about home; even those irritating websites would be a comfort now. Observing the fairy, memories of a story I had to read as a child come to mind, my mom always insisting on us reading. "Now that I think about it, she does resemble Alice from that story."
"How about Alice?" I asked her. She smiles in satisfaction, giving me a nod.

‘You are really not helpful.’ I exhaled a sigh of frustration and rapidly dismissed all the pop-ups.

Alice appeared slightly more mature yet retained her small, adorable stature. Her rge blue eyes and blonde hair was styled into ponytails, adorned with fairy-themed clips. She was dressed in a white dress, complemented by a cheerful smile on her face.

Fed up with the system, I stood up and grabbed the milk I initially came for. I settled down and spent some time pying with the new fairy until fatigue set in.
Returning to the bedroom, Miki looked at me amusingly and made space for me to snuggle back into the middle. The temptation to sleep on the floor was there, but the thought of Amelia fussing about it in the morning deterred me. Resigned, I climbed back into bed with Alice flying in and dozing off on my chest.
The following day involved enduring a lecture from Amelia about the dangers of interacting with unknown things, which was then followed by advice on how to care for Alice. All the while, I could hear my sister's off to the side, gushing over the fairy.
In the subsequent days, Amelia and Angelica devoted their time to creating an array of clothes for Alice to wear.
