[Kim POV]

  I wake up feeling warm and look around to see I'm using Jill's p as a pillow and her tails as bnkets. My face immediately turned crimson. I stood up and started panicking. I tried to figure out why my head was on her p. I know my head was on the sandbag when I went to sleep. I was having a nightmare and suddenly felt rexed at one point. Did I move to her p in my sleep? Wait, she can hear my thoughts! I looked over to see if Jill was awake, but thankfully she wasn't. That was close. As I let out a sigh of relief, I noticed I felt more refreshed than usual. I then spent the next hour trying not to think about how my head ended up in Jill's p with little success.

  "What are you doing?"(Jill)

  Jill's voice startled me, and I turned to her.

  "Nothing!"(Kim)

  I Shout, trying not to let her hear any stray thoughts.

  "Ok, did you sleep well?"(Jill)

  As she spoke, her smug expression made my face red with embarrassment.

  "Y-y-yes. Did you?"(Kim)

  I said with embarrassment and guilt because she probably didn't with my head in her p.

  "I slept great!"(Jill)

  Jill said with confidence and a big grin on her face.

  "Huh, but didn't I disturb you when I moved to your p?"(Kim)

  She was a little surprised, but she quickly recovered and answered.

  "No, not at all. Your sleeping face rexed me as I brushed your hair."(Jill)

  I could see her smile widen as she spoke.

  "You what!"(Kim)

  I said, hoping I misheard her.

  "I brushed your hair, and when I did, your face rexed."(Jill)

  [Kim.exe has crashed]

  While my brain was rebooting, Jill gushed about how cute my sleeping face was.

  "Stop calling me cute!"(Kim)

  I shout, trying to hold on to any pride I have left.

  "But you are."(Jill)

  Jill said while still grinning.

  "Stop, we need to get going."(Kim)

  I said, hoping to change the subject.

  "Fine, I will for now."(Jill)

  Afterward, we continued to head to the Shift. The decay of my hometown made me a little sad, but I knew my family was safe. So I didn't let it get to me that much. Then I got a splitting headache out of nowhere. I fall to my knees, holding my head as I try to endure the pain.

  "AHHHHHH!"(Kim)

  I involuntarily yell because of the pain, which only draws Jill's attention.

  "Kim, what is wrong?!"(Jill)

  Jill shouted in a panic.

  "I don't know! It feels like someone is trying to break into my skull!"(Kim)

  Jill wraps her arms around me in an attempt to give me some comfort, and it does help ease the pain somewhat. After ten minutes, the pain finally subsided, and we took some time to recover. Jill looked at me with concern.

  "Are you ok now?"(Jill)

  "Yeah, sorry for worrying you."(Kim)

  "Don't be sorry, I'm your wife. My job is to worry about and care for you."(Jill)

  She said with her chest puffed out in pride, and my face got hot.

  "Thanks, Jill."(Kim)

  I said, trying to calm down.

  "You're welcome."(Jill)

  "Let's get going. I'll show you some pces I like on the way to the Shift."(Kim)

  We finally continued heading to the Shift while I showed Jill some pces I liked to visit.

  [Lily POV]

  "HE'S GONE!"(Lily)

  I went to my b in the morning to try and get a location from Brick. But the room was trashed, and he was nowhere to be seen. I immediately looked around the base, but no one had seen him, at least the people that didn't run from the sight of me. I decided to go and look at the cameras, but all they showed was static.

  "WHERE IS THE SECURITY FOOTAGE?!"(Lily)

  I shouted at the poor fool working as the security officer who cowered at my rage.

  "I-I-I don't know. It looks like someone co-corrupted it."(security officer)

  He stuttered out his answer, which only made me madder.

  "THEN WHO CORRUPTED IT?!"(Lily)

  "*gulp* I-I d-don't k-know the login logs were deleted along with the backups."(security officer)

  The officer said, hoping I wouldn't kill him.

  "WHAT!"(Lily)

  With that, the st thread of consciousness broke, and he passed out from fear. I stormed out of the office to head to the communications room. I pnned to contact Gale, who left this morning, and let him know Brick was gone so he could be on the lookout. As I walk in, the woman behind the desk tears up upon my approach.

  "What can I d-do f-for you D-Doctor?"(woman)

  She said, with fear in her voice, because I haven't been subtle about my anger.

  "I need to contact Gale's team."(Lily)

  I replied, trying not to take my anger out on her.

  "The phone at the end is open."(woman)

  "Thank you."(Lily)

  As I walk away, I hear her sighing out of relief, and I try not to let it get to me. I know what people think of me, so best not to let it get to me. I get to the phone and start to dial Gale. It takes only a few seconds for him to pick up.

  "Hello, this is the recovery team."(Gale)

  Gale picked up in a military voice.

  "Gale, it's me."(Lily)

  I said in a stern voice.

  "Lily, what's wrong?"(Gale)

  Gale replied with concern.

  "Someone helped Brick escape."(Lily)

  Gale took a second before he said anything.

  "Do you know where he's heading?"(Gale)

  "Not for sure, but I think he will try to get to Kim."(Lily)

  "Why her and not you?"(Gale)

  He asked with a concerned voice.

  "Because he bmes her for his new look and the pain I put him through."(Lily)

  With a matter-of-fact tone, I answered.

  "I see. I just need to find her first."(Gale)

  He spoke with baseless confidence.

  "But, he can track her with the Shift connection."(Lily)

  I said with my voice starting to crack.

  "So? He hasn't been to the city before he will have a hard time getting around."(Gale)

  "But, what it doesn't matter, and he finds her first. I don't know what he will do."(Lily)

  My facade crumbles away as I keep talking.

  "No more buts! Nothing will happen, and it is not your fault he escaped. So stop thinking it is."(Gale)

  Gale shouts my hidden concerns.

  "How did you..?"(Lily)

  "Know you bme yourself. Easy, you're too hard on yourself. So stop, take a breath, and rex. She will be fine."(Gale)

  I take a deep breath and stop thinking about the worst-case scenario.

  "Better?"(Gale)

  "Yes."(Lily)

  "Good. Now I will keep an eye out for him, and when he shows himself. I will end him."(Gale)

  Gale said in a cold tone.

  "Ok, I will believe in you."(Lily)

  With that, I hang up and go to clean my b. Now I need to find out who helped Brick escape, and when I do, they will get no mercy from me.
