Ch - 1

Ryuu sat cross-legged on his bed, his eyes fixed on the three cards laid out before him. Each one had a faint glow. They were beautiful—sea green in color and etched with lifelike depictions of animals, their features so vivid they almost seemed to move.

"Three years," he muttered, his voice barely louder than a whisper. "And this is all I’ve managed to accomplish..."

A flicker of disappointment could be heard in the voice but he knew that it was already magical that he came this far in such short time based on his previous knowledge. After all this was not earth and things learned there did not necessarily work here.

Han Ryuu hadn't always lived here. Back on Earth, he was a genetic scientist in his late twenties, he had achieved success to some extent in the field, But a single mistake had changed everything. A viral outbreak in his lab—from his own experiment had claimed his life.

He never expected to wake up again, let alone in a place like this.

This world was very different from earth, there were portals known as Rifts all over the world which was way bigger than earth in size. These rifts connected to some strange places full of Wild beasts and monsters which defied every sense of logic on biodiversity he had.

There were beasts strong enough to crush cities on their own, some had elemental powers and some were physically ferocious, and much more, The technology was much more advanced then earth in weaponry and some other aspects.

Finally humanity was also much stronger here due to the presence of Beast Hunters, who entered these rifts and hunted the monsters. On their death these beasts sometimes left the Beast cards. And Beast Hunters could summon them from these cards to fight for them.

Ryuu looked back at the three cards. They represented his hard-earned progress in this world. It was not easy even collecting the DNA was a hassle on top of that the gene structure of these monsters was way too complex almost made him faint.

And the monsters he had chosen were among the weakest of them all with no brizzare abilities, like the first card which was the

'White Wolf' it was a beast which shared almost all properties with regular Wolfs it was just more stronger than the regular ones physically and structurally.

Then too there was so much change in genes that it took so long to identify them and modify them same was true for the other two cards also.

" Well it is clear till now why there is no genetic science here, Mutation is so much better and easier then genetic modification " Ryuu found it strange when he arrived here at first that genetic science here was not a thing at all but he know understood it.

Things were invented and developed according to necessity but here external mutation was much more feasible and hence the norm so genetics was absent.

In fact if he tried to do some genetic work on the stronger species it would take decades just to identify all those genes alone.

Han Ryuu moved his arm forward , with a small 'woosh' a circular pattern of dark green color the size of a plate appeared just to the right of his right Hand, it was beautiful to look at etched with a star pattern.

With a simple mental command from him the three cards vanised into particles and entered the seal.

It was the gate way to his 'Conscious World' where all the linked cards rested, the Conscious World was awakened at the age of 15 and was divided into ranks :

Genesis - 1 (Dark Green seal)

Genesis - 2 (Dark Blue seal)

Genesis - 3 (Dark Red seal)

Genesis - 4 (Dark Purple seal)

  Genesis - 5 ( Black seal )

Genesis - 6 (Dark Gold seal)

G-1 was the weakest talent and G-6 was a thing only heard in legends,

G-1 and 2 were the most common.

This talent was inherited by birth and couldn't be upgraded later. It played a very important role in a persons strength and carrer as a hunter, and Han Ryuu was unlucky enough to get the rock bottom one.

  The next morning:

The morning sun bathed Kaizen City in golden light. Two young men walked side by side, heading toward the famed Valorcrest Academy—an elite institution known for producing some of the greatest Hunters from the city.

Han Ryuu, now eighteen, moved with a casual, almost lazy gait, his hands stuffed in his pockets. Beside him, his long-time friend Wang Ren couldn’t hide his disbelief.

“How the hell did you get into Valorcrest with those grades?” Ren muttered, shooting Ryuu an incredulous glance. “You missed half the classes and damn nearly flunked the grade.”

Ryuu offered a shrug, his voice relaxed. “It’s possible. You just need a little money.”

Ren scoffed. “Of course. How could I forget—young master Ryuu of the illustrious Han Clan.” His tone dripped with sarcasm.

He wasn’t wrong, though. The Han Clan was one of the oldest and most powerful families in Kaizen City. But Ryuu wasn’t the typical scion of a great house. Orphaned at a young age, neglected by the main family, and raised without the pampering most heirs received—he was more of a ghost than a golden child.

All the money he had was left by his parents for him as an inheritance.

“If you hadn’t given me your notes back in school, I’d have beaten you black and blue,” Ryuu said casually, giving Ren a hard glare.

Ren blinked, then barked a laugh. “Yeah? Good thing I’m a generous friend, huh?”

They stepped closer to the towering gates of Valorcrest Academy. The massive iron doors bore the academy’s crest—an ancient serpent coiled around a tree. It wasn’t just a school—it was a crucible for those who dared to dream of becoming elite Hunters.

“Have you contracted any Beast Cards yet?” Ren asked suddenly, his tone shifting to concern. “Most awakened their Spiritual Consciousness and started forming contracts the moment they could.”

Ryuu stretched his arms lazily. “Yeah. I’ve already imprinted all three slots.”

Ren blinked in surprise, then gave a small nod. “Not bad. So you’re not completely slacking off.”

As Rank-1 Beast Hunters, the two of them could only form spiritual contracts with up to three Beast Cards. Each card bound to a Hunter was both a weapon and a companion.

Still, Ren frowned. “I don’t get why you took so long. Some of the top guys from school are already Rank-2.”

Ryuu shrugged again, unbothered. He doesn't wanted to get stuck by his G-1 talent and wanted to become strong enough to survive so he had to try his best.

Ren clicked his tongue in frustration. “You know how hard it is to rank up. You’ve gotta survive the rifts, fight off those damned beasts, and keep pushing your cards to evolve.”

Upgrading a Beast Hunter’s rank wasn’t simple—it demanded more than just talent. One had to kill beasts within the rifts, absorb their essence, and strengthen their contracted cards. Only then could they break through to the next level.

Rank-2 Hunters had access to 2-Star Beast Cards—stronger, faster, and infinitely more dangerous than the 1-Star beasts, just as the Ranks of hunters beasts also grew in power as they progressed. Each increase in their rank was measured by a Star. So a 2-star beast was at rank 2.

“Doesn’t matter,” Han Ryuu said softly

Ren raised an eyebrow. “I don't even now what to say "

With that, the gates began to creak open.

And their journey into Valorcrest Academy began they soon entered thier class Class- B of the 1st year.

Both Han Ryuu and Wang Ren sat at the back of the room, their seats adjacent as always. Around them, the other students were still settling in—some chatting nervously, others sitting in silence with guarded expressions.

Class B, after all, was where they placed the less promising students.

Most here had a Genesis-2 Conscious World. A few lucky ones, had managed to enter with a Genesis-1 conscious world, which was a lifetime opportunity for them as the academy rarely selected them.

Wang Ren leaned over, whispering to Ryuu while scanning the room. “See that guy sitting up front? The tall one with the reddish hair?”

Ryuu glanced up , his eyes settling on a tall student with a stern face and serious eyes. His hair had a faint copper hue that caught the light, and his posture was perfectly straight—disciplined.

“That’s Yang Xuan. He’s a G-3 conscious world,” Ren said, keeping his voice low. “Should’ve been in Class A, easily. But he pissed off someone from the Li family—so here he is, exiled to the B-rank.”

Ryuu raised an eyebrow. “G-3,.” it was truly great. Even the difference between G-1 and G-2 was so huge

that it was almost hard to surpass, and the higher the talent the harder it was to overcome this gap.

Ren continued pointing around the room, quietly giving Ryuu the rundown on a few other students—ones with decent potential, family connections, or rumored dangerous cards.

Before he could finish, the door creaked open with a dull groan.

A man in a long, grey coat stepped inside. His hair was streaked with silver, but his posture was that of a seasoned warrior. His aura carried a weight that instantly silenced the room.

He dropped a thick set of books onto the desk with a thud.

“I’m Instructor Haran,” he said bluntly. “You’ve been placed in Class B. That means you’re the ones with a lower talent so you will have to put more work if you want to survive here.”

His gaze swept across the room, " Let's start with today's lecture.
