Chapter 323

  The Eternal Bde Art

Ji Wuye's martial art, a martial art based on the Walce Sword Techniques—an imitation designed to compensate for his inability to break through the limitations of the 3rd realm.

"It is also an imitation of Sword Aura," Ji Wuye remarked. By now, he was already standing with his feet firmly pnted apart, his flowing white hair shimmering under the silver moonlight like strands of lustrous silk catching the celestial glow.

Deep lines of concentration etched across his face as he inhaled deeply, the cool night air filling his lungs. He held a jian in both hands, the polished metal catching fragments of moonlight that danced along its fwless edge.

The tip pointed upward and aligned with the center of his chest.

Closing his eyes, Ji Wuye began drawing Qi from the surrounding environment. The air seemed to thicken and pulse around him, creating an almost imperceptible distortion that made the space near his body shimmer like heat rising from sun-baked stone.

The energy flowed seamlessly into his body with each measured breath, threading through his Twelve Meridians before settling in his three Dantians: the Lower, Middle, and Upper.

The next moment, the stored Qi was slowly drawn, particurly from the Middle Dantian, where the heart is located. A subtle warmth spread through his chest, radiating outward.

It moved smoothly, like water coursing through his skin, but now the bluish Qi traveled along his inner arms, making the veins beneath his skin glow with an ethereal light. Eventually, the energy pooled in his thumb.

The Qi paused momentarily before resuming its flow, streaming along his inner arms once more and gathering at the tips of his middle fingers.

One by one, his fingers began to emit a faint bluish light as they became enveloped in the glowing Qi, until his entire palm was bathed in the ethereal hue.

Gradually, the Qi extended to the jian in Ji Wuye's grasp. The bluish energy that enveloped the bde seemed to sink into the metal itself, transforming the ordinary steel into something otherworldly.

The Qi soon projected an image into his mind—a swirling mass of Qi that seemed to shred the metallic edge of the jian while somehow leaving it intact.

The process deepened. The metal edge of the sword began to tremble, emitting a vibrating hum that started as a whisper and grew steadily louder. His fingers felt every subtle osciltion travel through the weapon and into his very bones.

Gradually, the edge of the bde appeared blurry, creating the illusion of numerous phantom edges that grew more vivid and intense with every passing moment, fanning out like the pages of an ancient text being riffled by an invisible hand.

Finally, like the resonant sound of a zither being plucked by a master musician—

  RINGGG!

The sound pierced the night air. The vibration rippled through the clearing, touching everything within its reach with a subtle, almost imperceptible force.

The Eternal Bde Art, Second Move – Great Sword Resonance

  —————————————

The jian, now fully enveloped in the faint bluish Qi steadily supplied by Ji Wuye's Middle Dantian and Lower Dantian, began vibrating intensely.

This created the illusion of countless bdes swinging up and down, despite the sword remaining perfectly still in his unwavering grip. The afterimages blurred together like a river of steel flowing through the air.

Metallic fragments appeared to float around the shimmering edge of the bde, catching the moonlight and scattering it in dazzling patterns across Ji Wuye's calm face.

"It's a lot easier now," Ji Wuye remarked, this entire process took less than ten breaths as he observed the Second Move of his martial art—the Eternal Bde Art.

  Yet...

"An imitation is still an imitation," Ji Wuye commented once more, though his tone carried no trace of pity or disappointment.

Instead, his eyes narrowed slightly as he studied the vibrating bde, the reflection of its multiple edges dancing in his pupils. His lips pressed into a thin line, not of frustration but—

  THUMP!

A loud thumping sound resonated from his Upper Dantian, like a massive drum being struck deep within his chest. The sound reverberated through his body, making his robes flutter slightly despite the absence of wind.

The sudden surge of warmth coursing through his meridians felt like liquid fire spreading beneath his skin.

The Qi flowing now was red, tinged with orange like the heart of a forge, and moved through the Twelve Meridians as it circuted between his Dantians.

This particur Qi originated from burning leaves on a floating piece of nd— his Upper Dantian.

Slowly, the orange Qi began to envelop and blend with the bluish Qi that encased the jian, creating ripples of violet where the energies touched— beautiful but inherently resistant to true union.

  THUMP!

  THUMP!

The thumping, akin to a heartbeat or a powerful stomp, grew louder as more Fire Qi coursed out of Ji Wuye's Upper Dantian.

The fiery Qi sought to completely engulf the bluish Qi, which vibrated audibly and fiercely, as though resisting the takeover.

By now, Ji Wuye was sitting cross-legged, his spine perfectly straight. The bde, enveloped in colorful light, was split into two distinct sides: one half glowed with a faint bluish Qi that pulsed like gentle waves, while the other half fred with the orange light of Fire Qi, crackling and shifting like living fme.

Yet, despite this harmonious appearance, the jian still vibrated intensely. No matter how many breaths passed, and despite Ji Wuye's Qi being rapidly drained to maintain the Second Move while channeling the Fire Qi—neither side showed any sign of merging.

"The concepts are too different," Ji Wuye muttered, his brow furrowing deeply.

Without hesitation, he severed the supply of Qi from his Middle Dantian and Lower Dantian. The moment he did so, the vibration ceased with a final resonant note that hung in the air like an unfinished thought, and the Fire Qi abruptly dominated the entire jian, sweeping over the metal like a crimson tide.

  In that instant—

  SWOOSH!

The nearby campfire's fmes suddenly began dancing, leaping higher as if awakened by an unseen hand. The fire twisted and elongated, abandoning its natural shape as it responded to the call of the simir energy in Ji Wuye's bde.

Swirling around Ji Wuye like a sentient entity, the fmes cast dramatic shadows that pyed across his features. Like a stream of flowing water, the fire circled his jian with an unnerving liveliness, leaving trails of sparks that lingered in the air like fireflies before fading into nothingness.

  THUMP!

  THUMP!

The jian, now encircled by the swirling fmes, emitted a deep thumping sound—not from Ji Wuye's Upper Dantian, but from the bde itself.

Each pulse caused the fmes to swell rger and then dimmer, like the breathing of some great fiery beast, expanding and contracting in perfect synchronicity with the sword's vibrations.

The dancing light cast shifting shadows across Ji Wuye's contemptive features, highlighting the sharp angles of his cheekbones one moment and shrouding his eyes in mysterious darkness the next. He remained calm, fully in control of it all.

The resonance between him and the Fire Qi was seamless; there was no issue with it. The activation of his Second Move too, was likewise fwless, as he no longer cked Qi, as he had in the previous timeline, nor physical strength.

"Perhaps it's because it's fire?" he murmured, his voice barely audible above the crackling fmes. His brow furrowed slightly as he pondered the nature of the techniques he was employing. The fire reflected in his eyes seemed to dance in time with his thoughts, sparking and shifting as connections formed in his mind.

He considered the stark differences: one technique maniputed the jian to the extent of shredding its material structure, creating vibrations that enhanced the weapon's attacks.

The other technique involved harnessing the surrounding elemental Qi to trigger an elemental manipution applied to the object.

"Both of them actually have the same goal: to apply an effect to the jian," Ji Wuye noted, leaning his cheek on his hand as he observed the dancing fmes intently.

Just as he tried to break through and find a coexistence between these two concepts...
