Ch. 3 - Imprisoned

"Sire, I do not think this is such a great idea. The king insisted that I spend the night training you for tomorrow."

"We can do that after I deal with the commoner."

"Is... is this person also a skeleton?"

"What? No, he's just as human as the rest of you lot."

"Then I'm afraid that I cannot help you, my lord."

"Of course you can. Just shoot him like you did with Dorn."

  "Th-that was... Dorn?"

I've never heard her stutter, so that was a bit weird. "Yes, and you need to do the same thing with his master."

She then stopped. There was a look of absolute shock on her face, as a stream of transparent liquid flowed from her silver eyes. 'Crying didn't suit her very well.'

"He was a traitor. Do not mourn such a person... This is a royal order, by the way."

"I will not use my powers to harm anyone."

"What about Dorn? He seemed pretty harmed to me."

"I simply disconnected his soul from his skeletal figure. So that he may go to the Goddess and be free."

  "So? You still killed him."

"NO! I liberated his soul, not killed him! What you're asking me to do right now is murder. Killing his master, as you have told me to do, is murder. And I will not do such a thing. If you believe him to be a traitor, then get the guards to imprison him; whereupon he shall be trailed for his crimes. But I won't be killing anyone."

"But I'm ordering you to do it."

"I will not harm anyone, for any reason."

  "But I'm the prince!"

"And I'm your humble maid, not your executioner."

'AHhhhhh. Stupid fucking low-born. All of them, useless!'

"Fine, then you shall keep him company in his cell. Guards!"

A few seconds later, the guards appeared.

  "Yes sire."

"Throw Jennifer in the dungeon. And find me Khallar, so that he may keep her company."

  "Yes sire."

And then the guards grabbed her, as they should. But then they did something they shouldn't have, they grabbed me too.

This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

"What is the meaning of this! Unhand me this once."

  "No sire."

Stinky commoners don't know their place.

"Wait 'till my grandpa hears about this. You won't get away with this. You'll rot in jail with the other traitors, just you wait!"

They didn't seem to care about the fact that their lives were at stake. I guess they lost the few brains they had left. What could I expect from these people?

  ------

They shut me up with some gag device. They didn't even clean it, and worst of all, I can't throw up. I already had an episode, and it didn't end well for me. So now I'm forced to sit here and take it; disgraceful.

My hands and feet were bound by the chains of the prison. Jennifer was also here, though they didn't shut her mouth like they did with me. They just threw some handcuffs on her and called it a day; I guess they know who the real threat is.

But they're very stupid. I am the prince, and everyone knows me. Any random jailer walking by would recognise that I shouldn't be here, and they'll get me out. And as soon as that happens, my grandpa will ruin them.

  Ah, there it is, salvation.

"Ghaghfhf.. gfuhggh." Hard to talk with this thing, but it seemed to have gotten his attention.

He walked right to the jail cell, and opened the door. 'Yes, come and untie me from these rough shackles!'

He walked straight up to me, and sat down. He didn't move or anything, just stared me in the eye.

  "Gfuhghg"

"How strange. Master's mana still binds you, yet you managed to go against him."

'Aww shit, another one of these guys.'

He then took off my gag-device thingy, presumably so I can talk to him.

"Alright, now you gotta untie my hands and feet, and then I'll consider giving you a royal pardon."

  "Where's Dorn?"

This stinky peasant clearly doesn't know his place. "Who cares about Dorn? Untie me this once!"

  "Where's Dorn?"

"Dead, killed him, executed for his crimes. And I'll do the same to you if you don't take these shackles off this once!"

"That was a real bad move Jahn. Real bad move." He seemed to then give me a look of pity, as if I did something stupid.

Thankfully, Jennifer was moving behind him, so I didn't lose my temper quite yet.

"Listen, whatever-your-name-is, if you don't want to end up like him, then you best unhand me; and then escort me to the king, where I shall tell him all about these traitors and where I shall plead that he give you a light sentence. Do the world some good and help your betters."

  tsk tsk

"The rumours weren't quite as exaggerated as I thought, you are an arrogant cunt. Why should I-"

And he dropped to the floor, like a puppet with no strings. The image of Jennifer with her index finger pointed at where he once stood told me that she finally grew some guts. Though I should probably not anger her too much, lest she shoots me too.

"Well done maid. Now quickly unhand me so that we may go see my grandfather."

"Sire, that was another lost soul tied to a dead body. But if my guesses are correct, then this 'master' is an Object-Channelling mage. We must stop him, so that these souls may finally rest."

"So you're gonna help me destroy the traitor?"

"If it means that I can free these lost souls, then yes. I wo-."

"Great! Now untie me quickly, so we can meet grandpa. Every second I spend next to this man makes me sick."
