Chapter 39 : Good Ending

In a match that will go down in the dark history of Barrow AFC, Bradford City ran riot with an astounding 0–11 away victory. But the spotlight wasn't solely on the jaw-dropping scoreline—the name Mathias echoed throughout the stadium and across social media. The young pyer, once discarded by Barrow, emerged as a deadly executioner, scoring six goals in one game, silencing every bit of criticism ever thrown at him.

Almost all of his goals were beautiful. He proved himself to be a crazy striker who could score in any situation.Mathias didn’t just shine—he haunted Barrow’s defense like a ghost from the past seeking revenge. The faces of Barrow's pyers looked traumatized; some couldn't even bear to look at the scoreboard when the final whistle blew.

The Guardian:"Bradford proved they're not a team headed for relegation. Yesterday's match saw them destroy Barrow at home, putting them at the top of the table. Mathias is a terrifying presence in the opponent's defense."

Sky Sports (Jamie Carragher):"Bradford’s total attacking py was thanks to Reinhart's brilliant tactics. Mathias was insane—scoring impossible goals."

Praises didn’t just come from media and analysts. Bolton's manager Neilson had already warned about Bradford’s madness and praised them once more.

BBC Sport (Bolton Manager, Neilson):“I already said Bradford would be scary this season. Luckily, back then, Mathias wasn’t like this.”

Amid the uproar over Bradford's stunning performance, a controversial statement from Barrow’s coach Andre stirred the pot. He shed out, accusing Mathias of being ungrateful."I’m not surprised he pyed that well. But I’m disappointed—Mathias is a pyer who doesn’t know gratitude. We raised him, and he chose to celebrate in front of our fans disrespectfully."

His comment sparked outrage on social media. Hashtags like #RespectMathias and #AndreOut immediately trended. Bradford fans hailed Mathias as a new legend, while Barrow fans were split between defending the club or condemning it.

For the first time, Mathias broke his silence, posting a photo of himself celebrating in front of Barrow supporters, with the caption "bestdayofmylife".

He wasn’t alone—Duvant also posted a cheeky photo with the caption:“Was this a professional team? Even our youth academy gave us more of a challenge.”

Conrad joined in, posting his own photo from the match with the caption:“90 minutes of doing nothing.”

Almost every Bradford pyer posted something mocking Barrow. And then, Reinhart dropped a bomb on social media:"Barrow? They're not even on the same level as us."

Barrow fans retaliated by attacking Bradford pyers' social media, but Bradford fans, now riding high, cpped back fiercely.

In a dimly lit room filled with dolls, an album lies open showing photos of two boys and two girls. A blonde woman lies in bed holding her phone, watching the chaos online. She sits up, puts on her gsses, and says:“Alright… Let’s begin.”

The next day, an even more shocking story broke, shaking the very core of English League Two football:

SCANDAL: MARKO & CATALINA – MATHIAS’S EX, NOW TOGETHER!Amid the ongoing uproar, a shocking revetion emerged:Barrow’s captain Marko was revealed to be in a secret retionship with Catalina, Mathias’s ex-girlfriend.

But it wasn’t just a love triangle. It was far darker.According to a now-viral anonymous account, Mathias was intentionally sabotaged while still at Barrow. Senior pyers, led by Marko, maniputed the situation to make him seem like a failed striker—all to preserve Marko’s reputation. This led the coach to pressure the board into selling Mathias to Bradford—at a bargain price.

Mathias exposed them by posting photo evidence of his past retionship with Catalina, and his sacrifices for her—followed by betrayal, bullying, humiliation, and ultimately his expulsion from the club.

Then, Reinhart issued a powerful statement:

“Mathias is Uruguay’s most promising young talent—deliberately destroyed by a fourth-tier English club. I condemn what Andre did. But I also thank him… for giving us such a gifted pyer at a discount.”

A leaked voice recording sealed the conspiracy. In it, Marko, Catalina, and Andre are heard ughing as they talk about how satisfying it was to ruin Mathias’s mental state.

Once that evidence went public, public fury turned towards Barrow, Marko, and Andre. People condemned them for destroying a young talent’s career. The hashtag #JusticeForMathias exploded in popurity. Even Cavani posted a statement expressing sympathy and disappointment over Barrow’s treatment of the young man, long seen as his heir.

Catalina also became a target of vicious backsh, branded as "an ungrateful traitor." Even Mathias’s parents, unaware of the ordeal, cut ties with Catalina and demanded she return the money Mathias had given her.

The backsh led Barrow into crisis. Their social media followers plummeted, merch sales dropped drastically, and ticket sales for the next match were under 100.

Barrow’s owner, Sir Gregory Alton, furious over the disaster, summoned Andre and unleashed his wrath.

“You sold a priceless gem for nothing, sabotaged him, and ruined his future? You’re not a coach. You’re a virus!” he yelled, as reported by local media.

Andre was fired that very night.Marko’s contract was terminated, and he was booted from the squad.Barrow fans protested outside the stadium with banners reading:“We want justice for Mathias.”

Sir Gregory issued a formal apology from the club and fired many staff members involved in the scandal, forcing Barrow to use youth pyers and appoint a temporary manager.

As part of a settlement, Mathias received significant compensation. That moment marked the beginning of a total rebuild of Barrow AFC.
