He said, "What are you doing ying there unconscious? You gotta do your homework if you wanna pass school. But if you're just gonna sit here wasting time, you ain’t gonna get nowhere," Chryson said, looking down at him with a serious face.
"Oh, I saw that girl who rejected you so bad… yeah, that was depressing," he said in a not-so-interested tone, like he was just confused. "So, are you gonna give up or what? ‘Cause my vibe is telling me you’re not the type to quit," Chryson said calmly.
Then Jake suddenly shouted, "YES! I will NEVER give up! No matter how many times, no matter how much it kills me—I’ll keep going! I’ll keep going until I get a girlfriend!"
"Of course…" Chryson said, totally unamused. "Just like him. Always into this girlfriend thing."
He leaned back casually, flipping through a book, reading it chapter by chapter like it was nothing. Chryson just sat there, waiting for hours. He said, "How long is he gonna take studying? It took him a whole hour… but for me? Only 13 minutes."
Jake was just standing there, staring at someone for like 4 hours straight. He kept staring, admiring Sophie like she was the only thing that mattered.
Chryson noticed and shook his head."This is exactly why he never passes his grades," he muttered."I'm already done with school. Took me only 13 minutes. Now I’m 27 years old."He looked over at Jake again."You shouldn’t be looking’ at a girl all day. You gotta do your work first. You never know—you might fail, or maybe you’ll pass. But not like this."
Then Jake started yelling at him like a little kid,"You shouldn't tell me what to do! I can do what I want with my life!"
Chryson didn’t even flinch. He just sighed and flipped a page in his book."Your life ain’t gonna help you pass or succeed, but hey—whatever," he said casually, still reading."Now tell me, you gonna give up on her? 'Cause my vibe’s telling me you’re not."
Jake groaned."Every time... you always get it right. What is wrong with your vibe? It’s like you got hacks or something—life hacks or whatever!"
Chryson smirked."I don’t got life hacks, bro. It’s just my vibe’s always right... and you? You’re always wrong."
"Don’t get me wrong," Chryson said, "but what if you just... moved on?"
He leaned back, thinking for a second."Then again, I don’t think you would move on. But who knows—maybe sooner or ter... or I might jinx it. You might end up finding another girl. Probably. Whatever."
"Maybe you’re right," Jake said in a hyped-up tone. "I would… I would like to move on!"
Then the very next day, he looked around—and boom, he found a new crush: Emily.
"Yep… I jinxed it," Chryson said in that calm, knowing tone, not even surprised one bit."This was way too soon. I literally said that yesterday... and here he is the next day doing exactly that."
As expected, he just kept walking, casually flipping through his book like it was nothing.
Two weeks ter, Jake finally mustered up the courage to ask Emily out.But after he spoke, Emily just looked at him and said:"You're too pathetic. You look like… like a homeless dog or something. I’d rather marry a dog than you."
Jake just stood there. His head went pale.Then—colpse.He dropped to the floor, shouting like he lost everything."WHY AM I DOING THIS?! WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY?!"He screamed, frozen in disbelief.
Chryson, standing nearby, casually turned a page in his book."Of course he got rejected… Again. That’s the second time this year."
