For the rest of the week, Xavier had been attending his gentle fist training with Annie, and perfecting his lightning and earth abilities with Gasper.
As the week was nearing its end, Gasper took Xavier on a trip to the Hephaestus clan's capital. Hephaestus capital was an island northwest of the supercontinent Neopangea; by the time the two arrived, they were greeted by both Dave and Annie.
"Well look who it is! old man came by for a visit?" Dave enthusiastically asked.
"Davy!" Gasper exclaimed. "Nah, just here to hook the young one up with some pretty handy gear."
"Well, you came to the right place! After all, only the Hephaestuns can provide you with all the gear you need. Keep in mind though; we aren't allowed to use armor, and or any other form of Hephaestun made tech on school grounds. Unless you're Hephaestun and made them yourself," Dave said.
"I understand you being here, but why is Annie here too?" Xavier asked.
"I know right? Such a control freak," Dave replied.
"I'm just following orders. You of all people shouldn't be getting into trouble when we have inter-sorcerer's competitions coming up," Annie said.
"Inter-sorcerers?" said Xavier out of curiosity.
"Basically, all sorcery schools from across the country come together in order to determine which school puts out the best overall sorcerers. The seniors kick off first of course, then the juniors participate later," Annie explained.
"Inter-sorcerers' eh? What a great way to showcase your talent Xavier, maybe this time you can have your revenge against that pesky Euthenian," Gasper said.
"What kind of gear are you getting anyway, old man?" Dave asked.
"Oh, just some kunai, nothing much," Gasper replied.
"Oh? Xavier's a ninja now?"
"No, no. Just a few tricks I'd like to see him pull off using them."
"Ouu, Old man cooking something spicy I see!"
"Can I get some chains with that too?" Xavier asked.
"Damn kid, what kind of kinks you got there?" Dave laughed.
"Very funny Dave," Annie said sarcastically.
After a long day of testing, fine tuning, and trying out different weapons, the sun slowly set over the waters of the capital's bay.
Dave, Gasper, Annie and Xavier, watched from a roof top as the sun gleamed its final red hues over the deep, calm, ocean waters; giving a somber end to the day. "Day well spent?" Gasper asks.
"Yeah, I enjoyed trying out my new kunai," Xavier replied.
"You still haven't told me what you plan on doing with those things old man," Dave said.
"Oh, it's a surprise Dave, it's a surprise," Gasper replied. The sun set, and darkness finally settled in, but as soon as the four sorcerers were about to leave, were stopped by a shout.
"Look! There's a woman standing over the waters!"
"Sacred treasure, unlock: From depths of hell to heavens peak, from opened doors of souls that weep, cries that echoed from the deep. I call upon thee, Leviathan!" spoken in soft, whispering tones.
The earth shook, the calm waters violently poured back and forth over the bay in anger. All of a sudden, intense winds began to blow, disrupting the peace of the once calm, and silent night.
Finally, from the waters erupted; a demon unleashed to reap the night.
Letting out a strong and violent roar that echoed throughout the entire globe, with core-shaking earthquakes that could be felt for miles; The Leviathan had truly come, to wreak havoc, and as the beast rose out of the waters; the woman standing on top of it, let out a cold, and sinister chuckle, that sounded awfully familiar to Xavier.
The beast let out another roar, and blasted the capital with a beam of intense energy that leveled countless buildings.
"Whoa! That's a blacklisted summon! Who could have possibly summoned that?" Annie exclaimed in astonishment.
The beast let out yet another blast, except this time, was more directed to a specific point in the forest beyond, and Gasper quickly took notice of it.
Turning to the three, Gasper said, "I guess it's time to put you students to good use. Annie, I want you to get everyone to safety. Dave, go with Xavier into the forest beyond the capital, and find out what they're after; that beast isn't here to mindlessly kill, but is instead, is providing enough energy to power something, or aid someone," Gasper shouted, as the screeches and screams of destruction caused by Leviathan were nearly deafening.
"What about you old man?" Dave replied.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"Me? I'm off to deliver one hell of an ass kicking," Gasper said, and the four scattered.
"Is he really planning on taking that thing down all by himself?" Xavier asked, as both he and Dave left for the forest.
"You don't know the old man like I do kid; if there's anyone capable of taking that thing down, it's certainly him. He may not look like much, but there's more than meets the eye," Dave said.
Gasper dived into the ocean, and summoned a shark that he rode on. When he got close enough to the beast, Gasper summoned one of his own, the kraken.
The woman noticed a slight disturbance. "Hmm? What seems to be the problem?" and as she looked down, witnessed the kraken attempting to pull Levithan down into the ocean.
"Oh? The kraken. I don't suppose Hephaestun clan magic is capable of doing that, so who might this be?" the woman pondered. "No matter, nothing I can't handle," the woman jumped off Leviathan in order to deal with the Kraken, and as she made her decent, Gasper Erupted from the water on the other side of the beast.
"With the power of Poseidon's trident, begone!" Gasper shouted, and hurled a trident.
The trident: once struck, generates massive lightning storms that bombard the target upon impact.
The trident struck Leviathan, and the Leviathan suffered a great deal of punishment upon impact. After swiftly dealing with the kraken, the woman noticed the lightning storms, and as she slowly made her ascent; saw the trident, and pulled it out in order to stop the raging storms.
A smile swept across the face of the woman, as she soon figured out the person responsible for it. "Well, well, well. If it isn't Gasper," The woman said, as soon as she got to the top of the beast.
"Natalie!" Gasper exclaimed, and stopped his flight trajectory in order to address Natalie. "Seems as though you've gotten a little stronger since we last met," Gasper said.
"I mean. I was, merely a child, and having a vengeful father really does help you pick up a thing or two," Natalie replied.
Gasper's eyes grew wide, "Where is he!"
Natalie chuckled, "I wouldn't concern myself with him right now if I were you," and began controlling the beast using the medallion she wore, firing constant a beam at Gasper.
Gasper began evading the beam, as it tailed him close behind, he and Natalie, were now engaged in intense battle.
"Was that all that Natalie could pull off?" Mason said, as he, Riley, Jason and scarlet, stood close by the epicenter of the Leviathan's centered attacks, somewhere in the forest.
"Doesn't matter, she must have gotten into some trouble. Just get me in there so we can get out of this place as soon as possible," Riley spoke with slight irritation.
Mason got a hold of Riley, and used his shadow manipulation spells to teleport into the center of the Leviathan's attacks.
"This the underground network?" Riley asked.
"It sure is," Mason replied.
"Shit's a fucking maze. Anyway, let's get the old man's mythical hammer."
Meanwhile; on the surface, Jason and Scarlette were left with nothing else to do. "So, we just wait now?" Jason asked.
"That's the gist of it," Scarlette replied, filing her nails as she sat on a raised rock.
"And, make sure no one goes into the tunnel network?"
"You know, you asking stupid questions won't pass the time, neither would it make you any smarter," Scarlette replied.
"I'm just bored is all," Jason said.
"Hi bored, I'm Dave!" Dave replied, and sent Jason flying further into the forest.
Scarlette, unamused said, "Look, I know he was an idiot, but he was my idiot, and even my idiots don't deserve that kind of treatment." Scarlette cut herself, and began manipulating her own blood.
"Damn! That's freaky," Dave said.
"Careful Dave, if she cuts you with that blood manipulation technique, and gathers a sample of yours. She takes full control over your own body," Xavier said.
"Oh? Is that what's happening? Looks like that eye is pretty handy to have around!"
"Oh, is that the true eye my master's been going on about? He would be quite pleased with me if I brought you to him," Scarlette said.
"Tell you what Xavier: because you seem to know more about what this woman has going up her sleeve, I'll leave you to it, then I'll take the poor soul in the forest, sounds like a plan?" Dave asked.
"You'd really just hand over the eye of truth like that?" Scarlette said, giving off slight chuckles. "How trivial."
"You know what Dave? I think that sounds like a solid plan to me," Xavier said, dismissing Dave.
"Daring to dance with me boy?" Scarlette asked.
"Ever heard of the two-step?" Xavier asked, and took two steps that shifted the earth beneath her feet, setting her off balance. Xavier slid on the ground, and knocked Scarlette off her feet.
Scarlette was about to fall flat on her face until Xavier intervened, by erecting the earth beneath her with enough force to hoist her in the air. Xavier then reached for one of his Kunai, and missed Scarlette with it.
Astonished, Scarlette mocked Xavier about his missing when in position of the eye of truth, to which he replied, "Who said I missed?" Now suspended in the air, Xavier stuck Scarlette with a lightning bolt, that sent her crashing towards the ground at blistering speeds.
Dazed, Scarlette slowly got up and said, "Nice trick, but you'll-" Scarlette got Interrupted by Xavier, who appeared right in front of her, and gave her an uppercut.
"You talk too much," Xavier said.
Meanwhile in the forest, Dave still looked around for Jason. "I couldn't have possibly hit him that hard now, could I? where is he?" Dave said, and as soon as he did, received a punch in the face that sent him flying through a few trees.
Lodged into a tree, Dave laughed and said, "Now that! That! is some serious power bro! How'd you do that without me sensing any mana present within the area?"
"Oh, mana? Yeah, don't have any," Jason replied.
"Call your bluff, you must have some spell on you or something. Doesn't matter though; so long as I can have a good fight, I won't complain," Dave said, and the two charged towards each other, clashing fists and sending shockwaves that rippled throughout the entire forest.
Meanwhile, at the ocean, Gasper began to get serious. "Mystic arts of the weighted fist," Gasper said and rune symbols appeared over his forearms.
Using evasive maneuvers, Gasper struck the Leviathan in the face, and followed up with multiple blows.
The weighted fist made each strike that Gasper took uninterrupted, increase the force output behind the next strike; provided that Gasper's barrage went uninterrupted, the force would stack up infinitely.
Gasper kept striking at the beast, until the final blow stacked up enough force to send the beast into orbit.
Natalie laughed in amazement, "So this! This is the power of the weighted fist!" While in awe, Gasper Struck Natalie from the side with the same force that sent the beast into orbit, and sent her flying into a volcano that lay south of the capital.
Natalie erupted from the volcano with a giant magma golem and shouted, "Big mistake gasp!" Letting out an eerie laugh as the eruption sent ash, dust, rocks and lava flying into the sky.
Witnessing the catastrophe that was about to ensue, Annie came up to Gasper, "Gasper! what the hell just happened?" she asks.
"Well Annie: if I don't play my cards right here, the entirety of Hephaestus capital will be wiped off the face of the planet," Gasper replied.
"What do we do?"
"Find Dave, he's somewhere in the forest; he should be able to come up with something to gather up all the debris. Once you find him, help make portals and teleport the debris elsewhere," Gasper said.
"What about the big guy?"
"I'll worry about that, just go!"
