“It’s me! Akira! Remember?” I couldn’t move, was it really him from all those years ago?!

  “..no way..I thought you-“

  “Died? I thought I was going to, but someone saved me”

  “From a goddess?” I questioned, not really buying his story

  “It sounds crazy but I swear it’s the truth”

  “Prove it” I didn’t fully trust him yet, for all I knew he could be someone working for my mother. The man thought for a second before turning to me.

  “Remember our roses?” I look over at him

  “…yes, what color was mine?”

  “It was red, and I have the blue one”

  “Hm, can you show me?”

  “I have it here” he digs through a bag and behold, the blue rose appears, still covered in the preservation magic I had used on it many years ago.

  “See? It’s me”

  “Wo really is you, this is crazy- I never thought I’d see you again” he smiled

  “Me neither, I came here for the academy actually, is that why you’re here too?”

  “Oh yeah, the magic academy” we sat in silence for a few moments

  “Well..I’m on my way there now- I still need to unpack before csses start” I looked at him

  “I’ll come with, I just needed to run some errands” he smiled and started to walk

  We walked back to the academy, catching up on everything that had happened since we st met, Akira mentioned that he got turned into a vampire so he could survive the attack that separated us.

  “So you’re half vampire and half…empowered human?” I questioned

  “Yeah basically, it’s kinda confusing but that’s how I can be in the sun”

  We walked up to the living quarters and looked back at each other

  “Is this where you stay-?” I asked

  “Yup, is this yours too?”

  “Yeah” he ughed

  “Looks like we were destined to meet then”

  “I suppose so”

  We walked inside and everyone looked at Akira

  “Hey Mezu, who’s that?” ssher asked, ying over the couch

  “This is Akira, me and him go way back”

  “Hey, nice to meet you guys” he responded nervously

  “Is he living here with us?” Owen asked

  “Yeah, I think he’s the only other person showing up here for awhile”

  “I’d hope so, they may wanna make this space rger before adding anyone else-“ Chris replied from next to ssher.

  “Csses start tomorrow correct?” Ssher sighed

  “Yeah, what a bummer, I wanted to see a little more of this pce”

  “I’m sure we’ll have time, from what I remember the guide dy said many magic csses explore outside the academy too” I sat down as I continued speaking

  “It must have something to do with the different magical properties in each area” the room went silent before Chris spoke up again

  “Speaking of wandering, me and ssher were out today, and..”

  “We picked up three magical signatures you may wanna know” ssher interjected

  “Really? Who?” I responded

  “Our sister Mezu, and sshers little sister too” I felt a lump in my throat

  “…Mira?”

  “And scarra too” I felt my heart race, do I tell them? That I knew the whole time?! I couldn’t, I needed to find her on my own.

  “Mezu? You seem nervous” Chris looked at me suspiciously

  “No- I’m fine, just worried I suppose, she is with someone pretty dangerous after all” the room goes dead silent

  “…how do you know that?” I immediately csp my hands over my mouth, no..how could I say that?! What’s wrong with me?!

  “You knew this entire time didn’t you?!”

  “No i- I just didn’t want you to get hurt-“

  “And you just wanted to hide it from me?! I thought we trusted each other, even back then when we were still kids, I’m your brother Mezu, how could you not trust me?!” I couldn’t move anymore, seeing their eyes on me just made me want to disappear.

  “I’m sorry- I’m so used to fighting my own battles that I just- I couldn’t tell you!”

  “Mezu, I just- mmgh” Chris stands up and leaves, leaving me alone with the others.

  “…I have to go, excuse me.” I hastily get up and immediately go to my room.
