Chapter 21: World Awareness (Am screwed)

  (UA, in The Principal's Office)

(Two hours after the USJ incident...)

  "Found anything, Nedzu?"

"I have yet to see Deku or your other student in any of our footage. The cameras we've installed inside the Downpour dome died a minute after the Vilins attacked. We have no way of knowing what's inside other than forcefully opening it."

In the office of the UA Principal, a white rat and a grumpy teacher with a few other Pro Heroes are seen looking at all the camera footage of the st 3 hours in USJ and other UA's properties on a rge dispy. Each of them staring at the multiple small screens viewing the inside of Thirteen's css, the entirety of UA, and other buildings.

The Homeroom teacher of 1-A sighed for the umpteenth time this morning. Today is quite an eventful day as not only the Vilins attacked the students and almost managed to kill All Might (if not for Deku and Snipe deying the Nomu's barraging fists to have his ultimate move ready), the Vilins also trapped a student of theirs inside one of the natural disaster artificially-made environments (and somehow, Deku follows after).

Shota Aizawa looks like a pale man who has seen better days. Messy hair, bandaged head and arms, broken rib, and other results of the fight with the L.O.V. Currently, he sits at one of the avaible office seats in the room, eyebags evident under his eyelids.

"I've told you thrice, Nedzu. After Deku entered, we've tried battering the door, kicking it, and even right now, a Bomb Defusal team is currently setting up two explosive ordnance trying to blow the door open. How are we supposed to-"

"Open the door? Well, if that's the case, then someone must've their quirk activated and sealed them both inside. The walls can't be broken down, correct?"

The underground hero nods along with Snipe and Thirteen. The cowboy-hat hero has tried firing a bullet to the door lock. The door still refused to budge. A team of Police Officers arrived on the scene an hour ago, and they've tried bsting the door joints with shotguns and hammering the door with a sledgehammer. It still stays intact, unfazed, as if the door was made of vibranium.

"We've assembled a team to fetch Aizawa's students. Those were me, Ectopsm, and Thirteen. The door seldom opens at a random rate, so we pn to enter right when it's open wide. As we got our entry, an invisible barrier prevented us from entering and then knocked us back."

Snipe recalls, he can see the Principal muttering some gurgling words unheard by others but him. Then, his eyes wander off to the static screen on the corner. Just as he's about to ask Nedzu about it, Thirteen enters the office with a smile underneath her spacesuit.

"Guys! Power Loader is working on the broken cameras inside the dome! He said those cameras weren't hacked nor destroyed. They were simply being frozen under six degrees celsius."

"Frozen?" Aizawa's brows raised. He let out a long, deep breath before phrasing words out - Only for the spacesuit hero to gather everyone's attention to look at the distorted screen on the right side of the dispy. The CCTV comes to life for one frame and freezes. That is all they needed to know what was going on inside the Downpour zone. The frame shows what seems to be a base with two high-tech out-of-sci-fi turrets guarding it. Three bodies also appear at the front of the base with arrow sticks on their heads. Besides them, on the ground is the snow colored red that doesn't belong to any of the bodies.

  "What the..."

Everyone was... Speechless, to say the least. It's common knowledge among the teachers and UA staff that the USJ was built to accommodate all sorts of environmental training, such as spars in ruined buildings, earthquake scenarios involving hostage dummies, and more. But, there isn't any snow-reted training as most students are expected to be a Pro Hero of a Japan hero agency, which of course located in any city in Japan. And another thing that surprises them is the three bodies lying dead on the snow.

Nedzu starts noting down a few key details that only he knew before going back to his computer.

"There seems to be more Vilins than we have accounted for."

"Yeah, it looks like they want to capture those problematic children to make up for the loss."

"You seem to have grown a hatred towards the two."

"One of them cannot stop scribbling down something in his book while the other gives an air of incompetence."

"Isn't that what most of the students do?"

"They are much tamer in comparison to the two, Nedzu."

"I'm sure your opinions toward them will change in the future. In the meantime, why don't you all gather up and rescue them?"

Aizawa can only huff at the Principal's words, he failed to see why the two are looked different by Nedzu out of all 20 students of 1-A. He's not one to comment to that, not for now. The group of Pro Heroes then discussed a pn to rescue them before leaving the Principal's office. As everyone leaves, Aizawa follows after. Just before he steps outside, Nedzu gives him a food for thought.

"Shota, I am seeing some suspicious traces about Alf's bio. There is no kid named Alf Krk in the world. The name sounds like it belongs to a Western country and yet, all I can find is a middle-aged man working in a small trading company. Other than the possibilities of the man's age being degraded, there is a likely chance that your problematic student's biodata is forged."

  ...

  Then... Why...

  "Why only me?"

  "Hm?"

"Why didn't you tell everyone about this?"

"I just want a peaceful talk with him, could you please?"

  "... Fine."

  "Awesome. Thank you."

The underground hero walks down the hallway, disappearing around the next corner. All he has on his face is a hint of tiredness and resolve. The kid might be a spy sent by the L.O.V to be an informant. And the kid will be confronted once he enters Nedzu's office.

Oh, there WILL be a 'peaceful' discussion. Except, it's not that serious with the kid included.

  (A week ter...)

Izuku still feels uneasy whenever he is tasked with doing the dirty cleaning of the bodies.

Especially when st night, Alf threw an Impact Grenade towards the horde of attacking Scavengers - that's what the skullcap boy calls - resulting in a very gruesome scene of organs and limbs scattered around, a meter away from the explosion. There isn't a night of moral crisis the poor green-haired boy had, but he gotta do what he must to survive.

Alf has lore-dumped his analytical brain with just a paragraph of words since the st three days they are stuck in the dome.

To conclude, Alf has five friends across the ocean who each own a medium-sized portion of power in the underground world. They own companies that ensure the safety of their clients, information brokers, auctions, and an all-open bck market. Right now, they are all after his being because he almost put half of their businesses down the drain with a singur unfunny joke while they were having a Ted talk with AFO as their guest.

After the lore-dump, Midoriya asked him:

  "Are they really your friends?"

  To which the boy answered:

"Yes, our ways of communicating are way beyond society's comprehension, however."

From that point on, Izuku dares not disobey most things told by Alf. Other than the fact that Alf is the only person he can rely on, the mere story Alf had expined to him caused him to fear the boy more than the Sludge Vilin. Well, who in their right mind would befriend five powerful individuals that can pay billions just to kill someone, only to mess up a deal with the most dangerous Vilin of all time, WHILE things were going smoothly, and come out unscathed?

'I need to tell this to Mr. Aizawa. But... Why did he save me? Is it because of a wicked pn running on his mind, or something more sinister?'

He must report this to his homeroom teacher, that is obvious. A small doubt sticks to his point of view towards the rather mischievous boy like a thorn. It's bothering his thoughts. He had heard quotes from heroes which aspires him more to be a better person, one of which tells him to 'Stay away from people involved with crimes because they will slowly turn you into one of theirs'. So, of course, Alf has definitely committed a crime before joining UA, and the crime most likely was not a lenient one since he is friends with the five powerful individuals.

Then, why did he protect him?

Why did Alf took care of him, a student of a hero institution, for a week straight?

After dumping the bodies into the dumpster on the right side of the base (he doesn't know where the hole leads to) and cleansing the blood on the floor, Izuku approaches Alf, who is setting down two Military bows and a few other weapons.

  "Hey, Alf."

  "Yes?"

  The boy answers nonchantly,

  "Y-You're... You're not a vilin, right?"

"Of course not, why would you think like that?"

He keeps on organizing their supplies, putting all the stuff in their each categories.

"T-Then, why did you befriend them?"

  "..."

The brief silence is slowly killing him. Izuku doesn't like it. One drip of sweat flowing down from his hair to his jaw, he prefers not to hurt the boy's feelings.

"I-If it's a sensitive matter, you don't need to answer it."

"Quite a bit complicated to expin to you, so I'd rather keep the answer for myself. Instead, I'd tell you why I messed up their deal with AFO."

He really doesn't want to be here anymore. Even if he's feeling curious, the temperature of the base seems to be slowly decreasing even without the cold storm happening. Ignorance is bliss, they say, and Izuku feels rather fond with the saying.

  Unfortunately,

  "Well..."

  The boy spoke anyway.

  "It was funny."

  'What?!'

  "You should've seen their faces,"

  'Are you insane??!!'

The boy chuckles lightly, as if reminiscing about the event with a light heart.

'Are those matters done only for your amusement???'

Silently, the green-haired boy slithers away from the seemingly insane Alf. He'd prefer eating a can of beans rather than conversing with the boy, no, thank you.

I don't know why, but after tidying up my supplies that I had scavenged earlier, Midoriya has gotten quieter since three days ago.

He bought me loads of tosh, right? Good. The real truth is far more mind-bending anyway.

Just a few minutes ago, the green boi questioned my sides; Am I with the Heroes or the Vilins?

Obviously, I'm with the heroes. I mean, come on, that's literally obvious. God knows what I did and I know I'd been given a choice to tell the truth to him, but I know if I told him that I screwed up my colb with WideDoggy causing them goobers to send me here for a detention from the other edge of the universe, would that make sense? No, right? So, I made up a lie on the spot. Not a total lie, there's retions hinting towards the real truth.

And I'd like to save the trouble of being questioned by Nedzu, thank you.

Now, according to the letter teleported to my mattress a night ago, today should be the day of the extraction event, or the real-life version of the true ending of DW. Since I'm stuck in a dome and not a pnet, they decided to alter the true ending slightly. The members of the Agency are now repced by the rescue unit of Musutafu, or maybe Pro Heroes, idk. Will that mean the only trouble I'll have to face is Yosef? Who knows? Meh, it's time to go home. I miss my hotel room and my prayer mat. Doing a pray here is hard, since there's barely any water and all I have to use for abluting is the water melted from the snow.

Sometimes while I'm scavenging, I found pools of water across the ndscape, allowing me to cleanse myself off the dirtiness of my sins.

Then, praying inside the base. I gotta tell ya, it's not a pleasant experience. Like, by the name of Alh, it's NOT COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN. There were cockroaches here and there, the remains of blood at one spot of the base, and gosh if it weren't for my mattress I wouldn't be able to do a pray/shot anywhere there.

Oh yeah, compints aside, things are going smoothly.

For the st few nights, there were Scavengers trying to take over the base with guns and violence. Fortunately, I have a bow and the WILL OF GOD, MWAHHAHAHHAHAHHAA! THEY WILL NOT TAKE OVER WHATS MINE!

  Ehem...

After I packed the foods and drinks and some utilities into both backpacks, I snuck a Military Axe and a Karambit into my backpack, both wrapped in crudely-made holsters. I don't want to rip my backpack accidentally, so I made those holsters as best as I could. Kind of proud, tbh. Then, I put one small bde into the other backpack, which is Izuku's backpack. Since the two of us will leave this god forsaken pce, I pn to bring as much stuff I could to assist our exfil. I know he can't use a bow and training him to use one in a week is an impossible feat. The best thing I can teach him is to impale someone with a spear and how to prevent people from getting closer to his personal space.

I myself am not good with archery, but apparently, learning how to pull a string to a straining point then releasing it is quite easy to learn if understood correctly.

The melee weapons? I don't even know how I manage to have this muscle memory. Maybe because of me pying DW too much? Maybe.

I drag the backpack full of stuff close to Izuku's mattress. He dispys a glimmer of hope and fear, contradicting each other. I pay no mind to that. Why should I? He had finished his can of beans, so I take it he's ready for our exfil. I've told him that three hours ago, so it's good to see him prepared.

  "Okay, Midoriya. To-"

  "I-Izuku is okay."

I stare at him with annoyance. Because out of all the time I called you that, WHY NOW OUT OF ALL THE-

  *Sigh*

"Okay, Izuku. Today's our time to go home, like I expined earlier. You still remember, right?"

He nods obediently. Good! I know the MC is always understanding of others, especially the naive kind like him!

"Right. Here's the pn. Since you can't shoot a bow, I want you to hold this Tactical Spear of mine and do what you've learned if anyone closes by."

I hand him the Tier 4 Tactical Spear I have found four days ago, the thing saved my cheeks twice. Something's wrong tho, and it's his face showing only resolve. Goodness, what decision did you've just made? Tell me you're not pressing zero (0).1Zero (0) is the keybind to make a first-person animation py. Said animation has the character pull out a knife out of their pocket before thrusting the knife right into their... You got my point. Please don't. I really need you alive or else the timeline will be messed up.

"Inside your backpack is a small bde, a bunch of rations and drinks, a green stim, a red cocktail, two IFAKs, and a few fshbangs. I've taught you about the fshbangs and how to treat yourself, correct?"

  "Y-Yeah."

"Noice. Then, let's get to move on."

And soon, we're off to the outskirts of our base. A perfect time to go too, since the Storm seems to take its time, 40 minutes till it comes back to ruin our exfil.

Not much of note on our way to the designated exfil marked on the AGENT's map, except for the occasional Hidden and Hangers. I've sighted a sickler, though its attention was on the Scavs disturbing its depression arc.

80% on our way, however, an imminent threat appears.

  "Warning! Heavily armoured hostile detected!"

The AGENT device warns me with full urgency. Izuku's AGENT shouts at him the same thing it did with me, so there's definitely no malfunction to the device. That only leaves one thing... It's the KFC- Oh wait, no, they've changed his interests. It's the RUSSIAN PEAR MAN!

I can see the faint of his shadowy figure on the distance. Wielding two M60s, a bulletproof vest - A kevr vest, I guess - and accompanied by two bodyguards. Well, cripe. What should I do? Welp, since he doesn't see me for now, I'll just get to the exfil point and try to open the door as quick as I could.

As I approach the exfil, the illusion of a wall turns into a door. Noice. Surrounding the door is a few road blocks made of concrete. Huh, this looks suspicious. I really hope I don't need to use it anytime soon. On the side of the door is a timer dispyed by the futuristic-looking screen. 4 minutes... Welp, I'm either four minutes away from freedom or four minutes away from the afterlife. I prefer the first, not that the tter is bad. God, don't misunderstand me, I know you wouldn't, obviously.

Then I remembered someone, Midoriya. Almost forgot about him. I turn around to see him shivering down to his toes like a skeleton freezing in the cold. Well, that's funny. I mean, there were sound effects of bones cracking. What a world of anime, eh?

Well, doesn't matter. Time to set up some traps.

"Deku, there's a few traps inside your backpack that I forgot to tell you. Give your bag to me."

  "Okay."

Huh, not so talkative now, weird. Doesn't matter. He lent me his backpack and waited on my side, spear's up and ready. He gotta tighten his grip, though or else the other end of the spear would knock his tummy accidentally. I rustle through his bag and grabbed some Steel Punjis coated with poison and Trapwires to slow anyone down with ropes around their bodies.

And fast enough, I installed the traps. They're quite hidden in the snow, so I better not get too close to any of those. Don't want me feet to get tetanus.

"You see where I put the traps, right? Don't go near them."

His cold figure can only nod understandingly. I guess he really needs heat. I opened my backpack and pulled out a bnket with tapes around it, able to stick to its wearer for some time in the open snownd.

"Here, wear this. Don't let it block your spear, though."

His gaze falls to my hands, dumbfounded. What? Why would you- Alright, we don't have time for this shenanigans. I'll just wear this to you, okay? Alright, done. Now, guards up.

I gaze to my right, the timer counting down to the st minute. Well, then, this is it? This is all the first batch of the detention? I suppose it's quite eventful but apparently I cannot expin most of it because I am so good at summarizing and not expining action stories. I guess I'll expin ter to you guys, on a ter date.

The countdown is down to 40 seconds. Come on now, I don't want Yosef to discover us both. Come on co-

  "There they are!"

  OH MY CRAZINGGOODNESS WHY NOW!?

AND OF COURSE I HAVE TO USE THE ROAD BLOCKS FOR COVER!

  "Duck!"

I scream, alerting Izuku to do the same; Take cover behind the concrete blocks. Right after he dives behind cover, the first bullet storm hurls down our way, suppressing any attempts of me giving a fight back to their teeth. This is troublesome. Oh, of course, why would I question this? I unzip my bag once more and got three kinds of grenades out. Impact, Frag, Firebomb, and two Fshbangs.

I'll throw one first to blind them, don't forget to cook them.

  *Tchink!*

  "Fsh!"

  *BANG!*

Then I'll peek and find out how much people Yosef brought to my position. Oh god, that's an incredilous amount of Scavs, the same amount as the fourth wave of Scavs in the original game.

I fire four arrows consecutively right onto four Scavs' heads since they're concussed for quite some time.

  *Twik!*

  *Drub drub drub drub!*

Afterwards, I hide behind cover again. They have fully recovered and decided to fnk me and Midoriya from both sides. I can't let that happen. I can hear some of them wailing, seems like the traps got them good. I throw a fire bomb at the three oncoming Scavs.

  *Tchik!*

  *Tring!*

  "Careful, fire!"

Next, I lob a frag onto the group attacking Izuku's side without looking at him. That boy cannot do anything right now, gotta give him some space. He's definitely cowering so hard right now.

  *Tchink!*

  *Tssk! Tssk!*

  "OH FU-"

  *BOOM!*

"How many nades does this f***** have??"

Last touch, I'll fsh them again, throw an impact nade, then finish the rest of them with my bow.

  *Tchink!*

  *BANG!*

  *Tchink*

  *BOOM!*

"Sh**! HE GOT BACK UP! RETREAT! RET-"

  *Tchak!*

And that is the eft of them. Phew. Well, I didn't expect Yosef to die that easily. I mean, look at his body. He got blown up by the impact nade and just with that he died. Wow. That's new. He got 1k HP in the main game and that itself is terrifying. Not to mention his two machine guns and his ability to somehow throw countless frags onto me. This is payback, bud.

Right then. The door should be open by now. Let's get Izuku out. I turn my head to the side and see that HE IS NOT LONGER THERE.

Maybe he left first? I mean, sure. The Scavs were closing in fast and I'm gd he chose flight instead of fight. Well then, time to go.

The backpack and all of my weapons then disappeared in an instant, causing me to gasp in confusion. Me beloved Karambit is gone...

I can make on ter after this. I step outside the door and was greeted by the purified air of nature. Ahh~ Refreshing...

And then, the least thing I want to happen is the teachers of UA standing outside the door treating Izuku Midoriya/caressing the boy and looked at me in horror.

Oh gosh, they didn't see me fighting them Scavs, did they?

  "Alf."

  Oh, it's Aizawa. Oh...

"You're gonna come to Nedzu's office, Now."

Of fridging course they did. Well, shucks.
