TL;DR: Midnight circus over Lord Street—dragon goes down, swarm the size of God’s beard, sky?flash hotter than crematorium.
Longer version: I was two blocks south of Kingfisher Apartments (roof of the Red Rocket diner—good view, terrible coffee).
- 00:36 — Winged figure drops out of cloud cover, maybe fifteen meters above a rooftop scrap. He throws a sword (no joke) hard enough to crack my phone mic—impact hits a flaming humanoid (pretty sure that’s Lung; scale plates match older ABB footage). Red?purple?black vapor pours out, gets sucked into sword?guy’s armor.
- 00:38 — Street drains erupt insects. Not random scatter—columns, like marching ants at Mach?1. Bugs flood Lord Street eastbound, ignore cars, ignore pedestrians, only chase sword?guy who’s now airborne.
- 00:42 — Whole cloud follows him over the bay. Bright white?orange flash above the low cloud deck; swarm falls apart mid?air, drifts as gray ash. No secondary fires downtown.
- 00:45 — Something splashes north of Shipyard pier, sonar buoys light red, then nothing. PRT lights and sirens show 00?:?47, but they’re still dodging questions.
I’ve mirrored three phone clips + one NOAA IR still (links below—sorry for potato resolution; my buddy’s dashcam got the best angle).
Anyone closer? ID on the winged guy? Confirm if Lung’s actually down? Mark theories as [theory] so the mods don’t nuke us.

I was on my dad’s trawler near the ferry dock—saw the flash reflected off the water. Looked like lightning but straight up, no branch?off. Boat instruments popped for a second (EM surge?). Bugs never came near the shoreline.

I was literally under a streetlamp when it went black. Could hear wings hitting the glass—thought the lamp exploded, but the bulb was fine after. Not one sting. Whoever ran that swarm had finesse.

- 00:46 — Armsmaster bike pinged Kingfisher roof. Two EMT stretchers went up, came back down empty.
- 01:15 — Harbor Patrol searchlight sweep over splash zone, found zilch.
- 01:45 — City works already sweeping insect ash off Ferry Park.
Still no press line. Keep sightings coming—but label second?hand stuff as [rumor] so folks can filter.

Can we circle back to that “energy battery sword” claim? Clip’s too grainy to prove anything. The sword doesn’t glow till after it hits. Looks like plain steel (oversized) to me.

It could be steel and fancy. Dual?wielding physics and aesthetics is a power in itself. Personally rooting for hidden hydraulics that go snick for dramatic flair.

The Protectorate East?North?East, in cooperation with New?Wave and the Brockton Bay Police Department, confirms the secure detainment of known threat Lung following an engagement in the Lord Street area earlier this morning.
Two unidentified parahuman parties intervened prior to Protectorate arrival. No civilian fatalities or serious injuries have been reported.
Ongoing investigations are focused on (a) locating the unidentified parties, and (b) assessing environmental impact of insect debris dispersed over the city.

Clinic got lab results. It’s mostly carbonized chitin, no toxins, no pathogens. Still, please wash your hands if you come into contact with them. Street grime is still street grime.
