The moment I was hit by the light and felt the momentary weightlessness, I knew exactly what it was. Even my mother and father across from me knew what was happening based off of the look on their faces. I mean, they were even older than I was, so it was obvious that they had encountered something like this in their long lives.
Then, the all too familiar bckness hit, and when I regained feeling again, I was falling from the sky. Snapping my eyes open, I saw that I was only a few meters off the ground, so it was easy for me to reorient my body to nd feet first onto the ground.
Now that my feet were on solid ground, I looked up to scan my surroundings.
From what I could see, I was in some sort of meadow-like forest primarily made up of oaks and maple trees with a few ashes for variety. This was not the most pressing thing on my mind right now however, as in front of me was a group of about ten people wearing ancient Chinese clothes. All of them were holding weapons with their bodies facing each other in a clear six-on-four melee, but not a single one of them were focusing on each other and were instead looking at me.
I could understand why that was the case as it must have looked like I appeared above the ground and out of thin air. There were many things I could do right now to try and expin this, but before I was able to speak, I heard one of them shout, “ That man must have gotten the inheritance!”
That confused me, and I started to ask, “What are you-” when I was interrupted by a different person shouting, “Hand it over, and we may let you leave this pce alive.”
The funny part about that was the fact that both voices came from different sides of the standoff. I still tried to expin, “I don’t know what this inheritance is that you are talking about, but if you could-.”
I was once more cut off by one of them saying, “Don’t lie to us! I have never seen anyone wearing clothes like yours! You even just came out of the secret realm portal in front of us!”
Well, that was a very interesting revetion. It means that teleportation must be common around here. However, I have never heard of a pce like this on Earth. In fact, the st teleportation incident happened a year before the first moon nding and involved a teleportation gate to a set of small ruins hidden on the moon's surface. Those ruins even generated their own atmosphere, and were another reason behind the lunar mission.
Thankfully, I had already packed that pce full of enough explosives to send it to kingdom come. The only problem was that the teleportation mechanism that sent me there was only good for one jump, and no one knew how to repair it. So, when I came back to get the detonator, I was not able to return and finish the mission. Thus, when the government approached us to ask if there was anything about the moon that they needed to know about, we made a deal for them to take the detonator with them on the mission.
Another one of the people pulled me out of my thoughts when they said, “Since he does not want to tell us, then we should just take the inheritance for ourselves.”
Some else spoke up in agreement, saying, “That’s right, and if no one speaks about this, then no one will know.”
After that, they all looked at me with a dark gleam in their eye. Taking that as my queue, I looked at the situation with a more critical eye and saw a decent amount of blood on the ground. This would be useful, and from the look of the people in front of me pointing their weapons in my direction, I will soon be using that advantage.
I then heard a whistling sound and tilted my head to the side as an arrow flew past me. Looking at my attacker, I saw a more well-endowed woman with raven-bck hair and slitted eyes aiming a bow at me. Next to her were four others preparing to charge.
Since that was the case, I pn to indulge them.
The first thing I did to follow that conviction was to use the blood still on the ground by maniputing it into a spike and firing it at the bow user. I made sure that this spike was traveling at around Mach one point seven so it would be hard to dodge. It was also a speed that would make the spike have enough kinetic energy to explode the person if they were not super natural.
The spike was able to hit its target much to the slowly spreading shock of the others around her. However, there was no exploding of bodies like I thought. What there was, is a red spike of blood going straight through the woman's heart, with a look of fear appearing on her face before she fell to the ground with the spike dissolving back into blood.
The shock of one of them wore off at this point, and they shouted, “He’s a demon of the blood sect!”
Now, that angered me slightly. Even though I did not know what this blood sect was, I know for certain that I have not fallen to any of the demonic influences present in my bloodline. That is, regardless of whether vampires were created by a deal with a demon or not.
Ugh! Now I wish I were going through that so I could punch my bloodline's creator in the face.
Regardless, I shed out at the boy who said that subconsciously and caused him to be run through with multiple spears made of blood.
This only seemed to make my now assaints even more determined to try and kill me. A few of them started chanting some things under their breath, which caused a weird shimmering barrier to appear around them.
Another of them started waving their sword in a strange pattern that left massive openings, which I took advantage of them by throwing a quickly made dagger at his side.
The dagger struck true, causing a second opening that I took advantage of again and threw another dagger at, which proved to be quite lethal. This reduced the original group of ten people down to seven.
It was at this point that two of the remaining people finished their weird weapon movements. At the moment of completion, two strange spectral shadows made of energy rushed at me. Both of them were moving slowly enough that they were easy to dodge, and I rushed up to their makers at full speed.
The two boys started to look surprised by how fast I moved, but by the time they even knew where I was, I had sshed both of their throats open.
At this point, I had enough of messing around and threw a small, almost imperceptible needle made of my own blood at two of the three girls that were here and one of the two remaining boys. No one seemed to notice them until they pierced their bodies, as it was at this moment that I controlled my blood to start wreaking havoc inside those three.
The remaining boy tried to run at the sight of this, but this vioted one of the major rules of fighting. Never show your back to the enemy. His end was predictable.
After dealing with those nuisances, I turned to the st person in this pce I had not killed yet.
This person was a girl who looked to be barely halfway through her teenage years, with dirty blond hair and green eyes. The rest of her body was fairly banced and was not too curvy or slim, with only a slight build of muscles that showed she was physically active. Her skin and build were still quite fair despite all of that, making her look very interesting to the eye.
I was interested to see what she would do in the face of death, but watching her reach into her bag at her waist put me on edge.
I decided at that moment to simply deal with her and save myself the trouble when she pulled out a small medallion with some writing on it.
This medallion had a small ceremonial dagger with three drops of blood spreading from the bottom of it embossed on one side. On the other was a piece of calligraphy that I did not recognize but somehow still knew meant blood.
She then started saying, “Please spare me senior bother! I am also part of the blood sect, and I was sent to be a spy by orders of the elder! I am also the only spy that became a core disciple of the Green Heaven sect! So please spare me, senior bother or the elders would not be pleased with you.”
This girl's actions made me feel amused as the previous edge I felt dissipated, and I stopped my aggressive actions.
It was honestly pretty daring of her to assume that I was part of this blood sect that they were all accusing me of, given half the things that they were doing. Though I still would have killed her given her clear threats and previously hostile intentions, if this ck of tension didn’t allow me to remember my apparent ck of information. After all, it wasn’t like I was some kind of idiot who would charge into something headfirst without doing any research.
