Chapter 1, Reunion

My name is Hiroshi Tanaka, and if you asked me how my life was going, I’d tell you it was a complete disaster.

It all started back in high school. My bullies drugged me, stripped me naked, and left me in the middle of the school field for everyone to see. The humiliation ruined me. I couldn’t bear to show my face at school anymore. Without an education, my future colpsed. Now, I was nothing more than a miserable parking attendant scraping by to survive.

I sighed as I stepped into the shower of my cramped apartment, letting the cold water wash away my exhaustion. After quickly packing my lunch and grabbing my work equipment, I made my way to my job at a convenience store parking lot.

By the time I arrived, my legs were already sore from standing in the overcrowded bus. But I couldn’t afford to rest—not unless I wanted to get fired.

“Ugh, today’s customers better give me tips,” I muttered under my breath.

[ I feel great hatred within you. ]

I blinked. Floating text appeared before my eyes, clear as day. I must’ve been overworked, hallucinating from stress. But even so, I scoffed. “Yeah, so what?” If I was going crazy, I might as well vent my frustrations to this illusion.

[ Do you want to change your life? ]

“Is that even a question?” I scoffed, my voice ced with bitterness. “Of course I do.”

  [ Today’s your lucky day. You’ll get a chance. ]

And just like that, the floating words disappeared.

“…Maybe I should stop staying up so te pying games.” Shaking my head, I tried to push the strange encounter out of my mind and got to work. Directing cars to parking spots with my light stick, I dealt with a mix of generous tippers and cheapskates who ignored me entirely.

By the time 10 AM rolled around, I was starving. Just as I reached for my lunch, a sleek bck limousine rolled into the parking lot.

What the hell? Who brings a limo to a convenience store?

The door swung open, and an irritated voice rang out. “Miyuki, why are we stopping here? We’re in a hurry!”

“Aiko, I told you, I need something to drink,” another girl replied.

“Then why didn’t you drink at home?”

“You were rushing me out before I could finish my juice.”

  I froze.

  Miyuki? Aiko? No way…

Two figures stepped out of the car. The first was a stunning young woman with long blonde hair tied in a ponytail and piercing blue eyes. Her sharp features and toned body screamed ‘athlete’—a fact made even more obvious by her tight sports bra, leggings, and lightweight jacket. With a chest that rge, I had no idea how she could py tennis at all.

The second girl had a softer, more feminine look, dressed in a stylish purple blouse and checkered shorts. Her short purple hair matched her violet eyes, giving her an innocent, doll-like appearance. But I knew better. Underneath that cute facade was a demon.

Miyuki Sato and Aiko Nakamura—my high school tormentors. The reason my life was ruined.

While the world saw them as just another pair of privileged rich girls, I knew the truth. Miyuki, the sole heir of the SS Group, one of the world’s ten biggest corporations, was untouchable. She could buy her way out of any trouble. Aiko, though not as wealthy, had been Miyuki’s ckey since kindergarten. Together, they had made my life hell.

And now, after eight years, here they were, standing before me like nothing had happened.

“Remember, Miyuki, you’re Japan’s face of tennis. You can’t be te for your meeting,” Aiko reminded her.

“Yeah, yeah, Mrs. Manager.” Miyuki waved her off.

I clenched my fists. National athlete. Manager. So those two had become successful, huh? Meanwhile, I was stuck here, barely making ends meet.

“Hey, you. Parking guy. Come here,” Miyuki called out.

I had no choice but to obey. She was a customer, after all. Annoyed, I walked over.

“Here.” She shoved some money into my hand. “Get us two bottles of water. You can buy something for yourself too.”

“Right away, miss,” I replied, forcing my voice to remain neutral. Just as I turned to leave, Aiko grabbed my arm.

“Wait a second…” She squinted at me, then gasped. “Hiroshi, is that you?”

My stomach dropped. “No, no, you must be mistaken—”

“Aha! It is you!” Miyuki joined in, smirking. “It’s been forever, Mr. Perv.”

I gritted my teeth. That damn nickname.

“Come on, don’t be so mean.” Miyuki leaned in with an apologetic smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “Sorry about high school, Hiroshi. Let’s just forget about that little joke, okay?”

  A joke. A joke?!

  I snapped.

“JUST A JOKE?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT I WENT THROUGH BECAUSE OF YOU?!” I roared, my voice shaking with rage.

Miyuki simply ignored me and turned to the driver. “Mr. Driver, get us some water.”

  Silence.

“…Mr. Driver?” She gnced at the limousine’s front seat. The man was frozen in pce, unmoving.

“What the hell?” Aiko took a step forward—only to stop abruptly. “Wait… HELP! I CAN’T MOVE!”

  “M-Me neither!” Miyuki screamed.

The air around us distorted, shifting into an endless white void.

“What the hell is going on?!” I shouted.
