The 'chapter' has to be at least 500 characters long so this is me filling in the space in an informative way~! Have you ever wondered if Phoenix Ascension was just the story at face value, or if there was something more behind it? Well let me be the bearer of good news; it's so much more! The story has at least two, separate but unified, interpretations: the story as it's written, and its esoteric symbolism. Here are some behind-the-scenes takes! System Zones can be interpreted as the different levels of society/the world we travel through on the ascension journey (our lives). They can also be interpreted as the different elements contained within everything we face. Physical/Earth, Mental/Air, Social/Water, Survival/Fire, and Magical/Aether. Coagulate Zones can be interpreted as those moments on the journey when these different levels we travel get criss-crossed or more complicated, muddying or convoluting our experience temporarily but acting as the substrate and ladder for more knowledge and understanding. Revelation Zones can be interpreted as the information in all forms that is revealed to us along the way. The Oversoul can be interpreted as your guardian angels or spirit team. The shadow complexes (like Veldt, Daisy, Shalke) can be interpreted as the part of yourself you fear or that part of you that needs to be reckoned with in order to become whole and depolarized. Tris can be thought of as anyone on the awakening journey, or, in tarot, the fool on the path to discovering the world. There are many more esoteric symbols and interpretations throughout the story and its paralogues but I'll leave the rest to you! <3
