"Please take us with you"
"...what?"
After I knocked the archer chick out I caught up with the two that were hiding. All three have graceful features with luminous eyes reflecting the colors of the forest. They had skin almost as pale as moonlight yet impossibly beautiful and their ears, elongated and pointed. Two looked older and the third very much younger. A young teen if I would say, but she looks weak...and slow?
[Copy] was hours away so I had already decided I would be having the archer girl but imagine my surprise when the weak girl turned out to be an actual Jean Grey!
"Please take us with you" she repeated.
I looked at her, curious, then at the other older elf, who had been shooting daggers at me all night. She now sat at the base of a massive tree, clutching 'Jean Grey' in her arms with an embrace that had endured for hours. She seemed subdued now.
"...why?"
"...we know you are King Dragonhart of Drakoria" she said, "and we need your help"
So that's why she agreed to my insane requests. I would have slept better if I had known this. I looked at her neck, where a sve chain had left it's mark.
"Whose sve were you?"
"Baron Emberthorn of Boserta"
Cremia. I looked at her neck, then at 'Jean Grey' and the woman clutching her. I want them, especially Jean Grey, but it's too early to create unnecessary tension between me and another kingdom.
"Then you are none of my business" I said, picking up my shirt from the ground.
"Please consider, your majesty" she said. "This is not just to our favor, but to that of your world too."
That got my attention. I turned to her.
"What do you mean 'my world'?"
"We are elves of the Sn?hvit tribe" she said, obviously gd I gave her a chance. "We narrowly escaped a great war in our world, Nathar, only to be made sves in this world. The demon lord had turned our world to ruins and will soon set his sights to yours."
So they are from an another world like me? Does that mean there might be others from my world too?
"...I take it the demons of the demon forest are soldiers of this demon lord? And the portal there is the gateway to your world? "
" Yes, your majesty "
"...it's been there for decades"
"It's only a matter of time, your majesty"
"mmhmm " I said, unimpressed.
"I told you he's no different" the other woman snapped, her voice filled with disdain. "Human filth is human filth"
"Kaitlin please!" she shouted at the other.
Then, she turned her attention back to me. "I apologize for her sake, your majesty. She's always been impulsive"
We heard distant howling of wolves as the first light was beginning to break.The air held a crisp bite, with a morning cold nipping at exposed skin, leaving a trail of goosebumps in its wake. Dewdrops adorned the leaves and grass, glistening like scattered diamonds in the soft light.
"We do not seek vengeance, your majesty" she continued with a calm determination. "Just protection from the horrors of a new world"
"You want me to take you in as citizens of my kingdom?" I said, and her silence showed that I was around the mark. "And risk been beled demon colborator? What does that benefit me?"
She said nothing for a moment, then asked, "What would Your Majesty want?"
"How about a new proposal" I said, moving closer to her. I picked her protruding nipple through her thin dress and gave it a gentle tug. She didn't even flinch. "I take you all in as my sves, the King's personal properties. Your lives belong to me, I get to do what I want with you, how I want it, and in turn you get to live the lives of a protected citizen?"
I observed a contemptive glint in her eyes, yet her sister's expression twisted into one of repulsion as she comprehended her sibling's contemption.
"No!" Kaitlin's voice erupted with vehemence. "I'm not becoming a sve to any human!"
"How long do you think we can hold on before they get to us?" she directed the question at her sister, who yielded without resistance. Then she turned back to me. "Would you mind taking more?"
I smirked. "In so far as they are of use"
