As Haruo walked upstairs towards his floor, a hint of guilt appeared on his face as he thought about the blue coloured door with the tree symbol that he passed by moments ago.
It's, been awhile since he went through that door, compared to everyone else in the house who went into it now and again, Haruo hasn't really gone into that room since the beginning of the year at this point.
He's been so caught up with various events these st few months that he didn't realise how fast time's gone by.
Haruo could hear Masaru talking to Susumu in a nearby bathroom about the fight, cheerfully boasting about what happened in the fight in the forest tonight. Usually he would head into the bathroom on tough nights like this to have a shower, but for once, he was going to skip it.
The house had two bathrooms, the small one he was about to walk past just now, and another rger bathroom on a higher floor floor. He could hear Masumi, Tsuneo, Fumihito and Hayate using it upstairs and pyfully roughousing to use the sink.
He hoped they don't break it in the process, especially if they transform into their kaiju forms in the process, which is the st thing that they need right now, more problems to waste money on fixing.
Haruo was transfixed by what Fuyuko had said, yes, they were safe, but for how long? They never really have any allies to rely on besides Fuyuko's mother and people that work under her, but, they were all in Japan, and they were in America, a country their more famair with.
After losing Hoakura and some of the members of the group, the kaijus had to rely on themselves and Haruo dreads the inevitable day that they do have to leave this Isnd, for better or for worse, at least they won't have friendships or retionships that they have to cut off for their safety.
A major rule the family were taught was to only form working retionships, such as with members of their club or their cssmates and teachers at the school they were attending at that location, if they formed friendships, or even romantic retionships, cutting them off when they need to leave, will be harder to do.
It would also risk them finding out, that their kaiju, which is something they can't let happen.
The only allie that Haruo had was, unfortunately, Vio, the only person outside of his family that he talked too, besides his teachers at Besant.
Heh, Haruo wished to cough up the bitter ughter he had in his lungs at the thought of calling Vio an allie to him and his family.
"Haruo?" A listless voice of a boy called from at the end of light green hall that Haruo was walking down from, as Haruo heard the boy, he also heard the gentle lute strumming of a biwa coming out from another nearby room, which was Kae's.
The boy came out from the end of the hall, he limped slightly as he did, the boy had white skin wore a white shirt with matching pants as he rubbed his canary yellow eye, yawning.
The other half of his face, was covered in canary yellow scales, it was simir to Haruo's side of the face that he kept concealed, but he at least still had an eye in some form, the boy at the end of the hall wasn't born with one.
Haruo smiled when he saw Goro Sugiura and walked over to him, who was also happy to see him as the two hugged each other when Haruo reached him.
"Hey kid, I see that you're up, are you still tired?" Haruo asked Goro, he smiled as he looked at him.
Goro was a few years younger then the rest of the kaijus, like how Susumu was a few years older then everyone else, he coughed a little.
"Yes, I took my medicine, but, I was actually looking for you." Goro chirped.
"Are you okay?" Goro asked, he noticed the tired look on Haruo's face, which he tried his best to hid so as to not make Goro more worried, but he wasn't doing a good job.
"I'm alright Goro, nothing for you to worry about." Haruo assured to Goro, who nodded.
"Anyway, you're still tired right? Do you want anything to eat or something?" Haruo asked as he watched Goro rub his eye zily.
"No thanks, I should head back and get some sleep. I just wanted you to see if you and everyone else were alright." Goro yawned.
"Want me to help you get back to sleep kid?" Haruo offered, which Goro seemed to apperciate, he held out his small hand, allowing Haruo's scarlet hand to clutch onto it as he began walking Goro back to his room.
Once Goro was in his room and was put back to bed, Haruo sat on a nearby chair as he watched Goro lie back down.
"Hey, Goro." Haruo's voice was softer then before in order to help Goro fall back asleep.
"Hmm?" Goro hummed.
"We're, doing okay, despite some of the shit that gets thrown at us, you shouldn't be worried about us." Haruo further assured the younger kaiju but it just caused Goro to look sad, he clutched his cover tightly.
"Sorry Haruo, I just get worried about everyone here sometimes." Goro mented.
"Ever since Haruki went missing, I'm worried that it'll happen again, and that everyone will go away and I'll be alone." Goro snivelled, with Haruo looking at him with sympathy, he moved closer to Goro for comfort.
"Hey, what happened with Haruki." Haruo said with comfort.
"Is not going to happen again, I can assure you that. None of us are going to go away again and leave you." Haruo smiled, if only a little.
"A-Are you sure?" Goro was still worried.
"It's a promise that we'll stay together, all of us now, no matter what." Haruo beamed, Goro nodded a little, for as cold as Haruo was to the others in the family, he always treated Goro with kindness, like a little brother.
"Haruo, can you sing me, the song?" Goro asked, his voice sounding tired as he id back in bed, Haruo nodded again.
And, he began to sing a song that was precious to him and the rest of the kaijus.
? In the nd of green.Lies a nd of peace.A nd where those who lost their time. Are reunited with those we've lost.A nd that cks sadness.A nd with no regret.A nd of peace, a nd of happiness.A nd of freedom. With trees of our favourite fruit.A ke of joy and ughter.A Kaiju's paradise.A nd we cross when our time in this world, is due. ?
Their favourite song, a lulby that was heard around Hoakura, a song that Haruo's father sung to him and his younger brother at night to calm them down.
Goro closed his eye and id to the side, as he slowly fell asleep. "Goodnight kid." Haruo whispered, as he got up near the bed and began to walk out of the room, his phone buzzed in his pocket.
Shit, was the only word Haruo could think of as he checked his phone.
i've been waiting for you, where are you.
The message read, Haruo typed in a reply as he walked towards the stairs, knowing that he was expecting this message, even if he didn't pn to go out again tonight, but now he needed too.
sorry, i've had to deal with a few things, but i'm coming now at whatever spot you want to meet up, just, don't be mad again, alright?
After looking back at the door to Goro's room one st time, Haruo began walking down the stairs, to do one st thing for the night as he adjusted his hat, a low sigh left his mouth as he left, as well as a sad look growing on his face.
He looked back down at his phone as he got a new message, a look of fear appearing on his face.
i'm disappointed in you.
A week ter, a ferry rode through the rough dark blue waves of the ocean and towards the Isnd of Fmel.
