Chapter 6: The Letter

  From your beloved future wife,

  Damien,

I really wanted to stay, more than anything, but I can't.

The people who came to take me away they're powerful not just in strength, but in authority. They weren't cruel or forceful, but they carried this weight, like the world expected me to follow them.

They said my father has been looking for me for years and that I'm the missing daughter of a noble house, which is called the Willowcrest family.

I didn't believe it at first. I still don't know if I do. But when they spoke about my mother and my brother and the accident on why it lead me here.

I couldn't ignore the ache in my heart anymore. You were still unconscious, and I-I didn't want to leave you like that. I wanted to wait until you opened your eyes, until I could say goodbye properly.

But they said time was short, and part of me, I'll be honest, part of me wanted to know. To see the family I never knew I had.

But please don't think even for a second that I've forgotten you. I haven't. I never will.

You're the first person who made me feel like I wasn't just 'some girl from the orphanage.'

You made me feel seen that is different from the others. You made me feel loved even though you are so shy about.

You made me ugh when I wanted to cry without you knowing.

Every moment we shared, every time we ran through the streets, every interactions, every smile, every time you held my hand, all of it is still with me.

You're not just part of my past, Damien. You're part of my future too.

I don't know how long I'll be gone. Maybe I'll come back sooner than we think. Maybe when I'm stronger, I'll come and find you. After that, I will be the one to protect you.

Just like a knight protecting the princess but in reversed.

Until then, take care of yourself.

Eat properly. Don't sck off. And don't you dare fall for someone else. If I come back and see you with another girl, I'll castrate you!

Because I'm still yours. And one day, I'll be back not as a noble's daughter, but as your future wife.

  Love always, Ariana

  …

Reading the letter filled him with warmth and a deep sense of love that only she could give.

But when he reached the part about castration, he unconsciously closed his thighs in fear.

He pced the letter on the table beside him. Since he was in the nursing room, he had the space all to himself, allowing the silence to settle around him.

Damien then remembered something. Right before he passed out, there was a voice it was something that whispered in his ear.

"Hello, are you still there?" he called out softly, unsure if it had been real.

At first, there was only silence. But then, a soothing voice echoed in his mind, and a glowing panel appeared before him.

  [Hello Host]

[The function of this system is limited. It is up to you to discover my uses. Whenever you want to call me, just say "System, open."] – the panel stated.

  "Ahh, System open," he said.

The panel instantly grew in size, expanding before his eyes.

Lines of words and numbers appeared across the screen, glowing faintly as they hovered in the air.

"Wow, this looks so cool," Damien said in surprise.

The panel had a divine, almost otherworldly glow. He reached out and touched it, but his hand simply brushed through the light.

It wasn't solid. This made him wonder even more.

Instinctively, he touched his chest and felt that his neckce was gone. Panic rose in his chest since that neckce was the only gift left by his mother and father.

Just as fear began to grip him, the voice returned, whispering calmly into his mind.

[Do not look for the neckce. I am that divine object. After fulfilling the conditions, you have been granted the right to become my host.]

"The rights?" Damien repeated in a low voice, still trying to process what he had heard.

But there was no reply. The system had gone silent.

Left with no choice, he decided to explore the panel in front of him, hoping to discover more about the system's functions on his own.

"Supreme Extraction? What a powerful skill, it's even unmeasurable," Damien muttered in awe.

"I can actually extract skills and so many other things. If I can extract the traits and abilities of every beast doesn't that mean I could become a beast in human clothing" he said, eyes wide with excitement.

"This must be the skill I got from the extraction. The instinct of the beast," he said.

After that, he gnced at the stats and saw his status bar. It looked pretty decent for someone his age.

Then there was a specific attribute that caught his attention and left him confused.

  [Origin Energy: 100/100]

Clicking on it, a new panel appeared from the existing one, forming a yered screen in front of him.

[Origin Energy: The fundamental life force that flows through chosen living beings and the world itself. It is the purest form of energy, drawn from nature, the stars, and the world's spiritual veins.]

"Oh, so this must be the weird energy the awakeners were talking about. If an awakened individual absorbs it, they become stronger," he said, finally understanding what it was.

Damien then gnced at the top of the panel and clicked on it, curious to see what it meant.

[Extraction Points (EP): Points earned through successful extractions. Used to enhance traits, fuse skills, or unlock rare extraction options.]

[Job: A special css or role awakened through specific achievements. Grants unique bonuses and ablities.]

This is that fme the Origin Fme a primordial fire that transcends elemental ws, capable of burning not just matter, but essence, spirit, and fate itself]

"What a powerful fme. It existed even before the name of the world was created. And this skill seems to be external, meaning I awakened it myself. This is my own," Damien said in shock.

Just then, a knock came at the door. Damien quickly sat up on the bed, acting as if nothing had happened.

"Damien, come out. The test is about to start," James said with a smile.

"Test? What test?" Damien asked in confusion.

"The test for the upcoming examination to become an awakener. Mister Dimitri is the one overseeing it," James said in an excited tone.

Hearing this, Damien felt a rush of excitement too, "I'm coming," he replied as he quickly got up and followed him out.
