Chapter 9 Temple of Sephia

  Wamillust

They stared at each other in awkward silence for a few minutes before Elysi cleared her throat gently and whispered something that made the situation ten times worse.

  “The walls are thin.”

Isran let out a puff of air. At least she had the sense to take her clothes into the bathroom and not come out of the shower naked while her companion was in the same room, with thin walls. She blushed a bit and cleared her throat lightly.

Isran gnced at the window, the temple was only a few feet away.

  “I uh… I’m sorry for um… your tail and uh… yeah.”

Elysi was still holding her tail—blushing—and looking at the bed.

  “I uh… I didn’t mind… either of them… you can um… well…”

Isran blinked a few times in confusion. Was she being hit on? It had been a while so she wasn’t sure, or was she reaching because the woman cimed she didn’t mind things she did before? Should she test to see?

Test? What? Isran shook her head, she was being delusional and weird.

  “I uh…”

A loud knock interrupted Isran and she gnced at Elysi before walking up to the door. If there was anything she expected to see it was certainly not an elf in priestly robes.

A male elf with neon blue hair and skin so dark Isran was surprised she could see the features of his face. They seemed to have an outline that was lighter than the bck of his skin. It didn’t seem to be makeup, maybe a part of their make-up.

  “Isran?”

Isran tilted her head in confusion. “Uh yeah that’s me.”

The elf breathed out a sigh of relief, Isran noticed he was trembling a bit as he handed her a letter. “From the head priest.”

As soon as Isran took the letter the elf bolted out of the hallway. Isran lifted an eyebrow as she watched him run away and shrugged before closing it.

  “Who was it?”

Isran frowned down on at the letter. “An elf came by, gave me a letter from the head priest.” Isran gnced out of the window again, the temple only a few feet away.

Elysi didn’t say anything, maybe she knew why Isran was being sent a letter or it was normal in Neos. Isran sighed and broke the small seal to try and read the letter. She could not. It was in a different nguage. Isran recognized a few words, like it and we but most of everything else looked like a jumbled mess, some of the letters were completely foreign to her.

“Is it bad?” Elysi asked worriedly.

Isran realized she had been frowning at the letter. “Oh… uh no I can’t… I can’t read it.”

Elysi slowly got up from the bed and approached Isran handed her the letter and watched the beastkin frown. “You speak this nguage.”

Isran shrugged. “I don’t recognize the way it’s written here, it’s pretty different where I’m from.”

Elysi nodded and read through the letter.

“The head priest warmly welcomes a champion of her patron goddess to commune with and bless. She hopes the champion will agree to come and hopes they can form a wonderful connection under the guidance of the goddess.”

Isran blinked. She hadn’t even known she was a champion of Sephia till that morning. And she hadn’t figured out which god the seal on her back was for. She was getting overwhelmed and immediately walked to the box of blunts she had left on the table and lighted one.

“I don’t have to go right?” The temple just knew? How? Had Sephia told them? Or could they sense stuff like that? Could the military?

It took a few tries but finally Isran lighted the blunt and took in a deep breath. Her thoughts settled and she could finally breathe. It wasn’t the military, and if there was anywhere she could probably get information about her champion seals without fear of some obligation it was probably a temple.

“Would you uh… come with me?”

Elysi appeared beside her, slowly pcing the letter down. “Yeah of course. I am your guide right?”

Isran smiled and let out a slow puff of smoke. “Yeah.”

After Elysi showered, they gathered their stuff and headed down to the reception area of the inn. Elysi paid for another night but recommended for safety they still take their things with them.

They ate some of the fruits they had from the dungeon, still as fresh as the day they had found them. Isran was quickly learning not to question when strange things happened. The world had magic, that was expnation enough.

The temple was as close as Isran had guessed from their room but what surprised her was how crowded the road leading to it was. Elysi held her hand as they walked through even tighter packed streets.

There were more guards around and less stalls and wagons as they got closer.

The temple was even more imposing up close. Isran stared in awe at the beauty of the white structure, bouncing the glow of the sunlight.

There was an open courtyard in front of the building, a statue of Vycor and Sephia in an embrace rge on top of a fountain. Isran was surprised at how much the statues actually resembled the gods. Had the people of Neos been able to actually commune with the gods enough for such accuracy?

As soon as they reached the stair leading to what seemed like an open first floor the elf that brought her the letter rushed towards them.

“Isran, it is an honor to see you accept the head priest’s summons.”

Isran nodded awkwardly a bit. The courtyard wasn’t as crowded as the streets but there were still a lot of people roaming around.

“Uh yeah… can she come with?”

The elf gnced at Elysi and smiled. “Of course. If you would follow me this way.”

Isran saw mostly humans dressed in priestly robes tending to people in the temple but a few elves. The most she had ever seen, it was a bit strange to only see a race in certain areas but she was slowly getting used to it.

They climbed a few sets of stairs before stopping in front of two double doors, a gold pattern vaguely simir to the pattern of her champion seal in the middle of the two doors.

The elf knocked twice and a gentle enter came through the door.

The inside was a grand office space with several shelves overflowing with books and a bed at the far end as well as several pillows scattered around and a low desk, low enough that the woman behind it was sitting on a pillow.

She was stunning, her long brown hair seemed to glow and it’s curls framed her slightly angur face, she had on a monocle and was writing with a feather pen. Several papers were scattered on the table and she didn’t lift her head when they walked in.

“Get me some extra robes would you?”

The elf answered affirmatively and left Isran and Elysi, running out of the room.

As soon as the door closed she sighed and pced her pen down, taking off her monocle and picking up two papers from her scattered pile.

“Isran, it’s an honor to meet you.”

  “Uh… you too?”

The head priest smiled and stood slowly, she was as tall as Elysi so Isran towered over her slightly.

“Please sit, down. It can’t be comfortable carrying those bags.”

Isran shrugged the bags off and slowly sat on one the pillows. Elysi sat beside her and the priest opposite them.

“I can see you are a bit apprehensive at this summons but I assure you you are not obligated to do anything I ask.”

  Isran nodded.

The priest gnced at Elysi and smiled. “Are the two of you together?”

Isran blinked a few times. “Oh uh.. No we uh… she’s helping me settle.”

Isran felt Elysi’s hand gently brush hers and she nudged the beastkin back. Maybe she was uncomfortable with the question.

“That’s very nice. My name is Valerie, yesterday I sensed you presence and that is why you are here. You have no obligations to the church but I’m guessing you would benefit from some advice with how to deal with you seal.”

Isran sallowed and nodded. A bit nervous but the calm of the blunt still helping her rex.

“If you don’t mind could you lift up your shirt?”

Isran blinked and frowned a bit. Yeah the champion seal was on her abdomen but how did the priestess know? It was a very direct phrasing… it was also a bit embarrassing to be told by an attractive older woman to lift up her shirt.

The priestess blinked and smiled. “I apologize, that was rather forward, could you please show me your champion seal?”

Isran calmed down a bit and lifted her shirt, leaning back slightly so the entirety of the seal could be clearly seen.

Valerie leaned forward and lifted her hand but stopped herself before touching Isran’s skin. She felt her heart stutter briefly at the approach and forced herself to swallow with her dry mouth.

Valerie hummed and lowered her hand absentminded, unfortunately what was beneath her hand was Isran’s thigh, and with how high it was the priest’s hand settled on top of Isran cock.

They froze, Valerie blinked once and immediately pulled her hand away clearing her throat.

Isran’s breath hitched and she immediately tried to think about something disgust, anything, but Valerie was right in front of her and the fact she just palmed her cock was consuming her mind a bit more than it normally would.

The three of them sat quietly as Isran dropped her shirt and folded her hands over her hardened length.

  “I uh…”

Valerie cleared her throat and stood up from the pillow. “I apologize… thank you for showing me the seal I have a few documents that can help you with managing the requirement of the seal.”

When she turned around Isran had managed to finally think of something disgusting enough to calm down and Elysi was standing up and walked up to the priest.

Valerie nodded a bit and handed Elysi the papers.

“There is a carriage avaible for you use, I assume you are going to Kestin?”

  Elysi nodded. “Yes we are.”

Valerie nodded. “I apologize again. You can come to the temple whenever you want and the carriage will be waiting.”

Isran got up and shouldered the bags she had put down. “It’s okay, it was an accident.”

Valerie nodded and Isran spotted a very small blush. “That’s very kind of you Isran. Please have a safe journey and never hesitate to stop by if you pass by.”
