Hey there!
Three years later, I have no idea if anyone who followed this story will actually see this, but if you are one of those people and you remember what the hell this story was even about, I've got good news. Two newses, in fact.
The first is that I will be returning to this story -- just not quite yet. I've drafted an outline for a rewrite, and I've got ideas beyond that.
I started writing The Island Tastes Like Chicken on a whim. And I mean a whim. I wrote the first chapter, and then boom, I posted it. Then I wrote the second chapter and posted that. I didn't learn the concepts of "backlog" or "planning" until later, and so I always felt like I was building a road as the cars were coming up behind me.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Then, for personal reasons, I stopped writing as much in general for a while. By the time I came back to it it had been long enough since I'd posted a chapter that I didn't think anyone would still be following.
So instead I wrote a new story, which brings me to the second piece of news.

I've got something new on RR. Today, in fact. And this time I DO have a backlog. 70 chapters -- enough road to keep me a comfortable distance from being flattened by the nearest semi.
I've linked the story in the post-chapter notes, so I won't go on and on about it here, but I'm proud of it, and if you liked what you read of The Island Tastes Like Chicken, you'll probably get something out of Friendly Neighbourhood Goblin, too.
It'll be a little bit before I have more news for this story, as I want to get my new project off the ground and running smoothly before I juggle two at once, but I thought I should drop by and remind everyone I'm still alive and so is my passion for telling stories.

See you all in three years!
Kidding.
