“A’n that there be the sum of it all, Digger.” Ruby winked and drained more rum. “Here thee now then, the pretty Avanora has in her mind for me to be tell’n ya how my employment, as it were, came to a halt a’board ‘The Ghost Spade’.” With a gleam in her hazel eye, Ruby took in a mouthful of rum and pnted a firm kiss on Ava’s somewhat burned and scarred red lips. A second into the kiss, Ruby shared the nutty alcohol with her lover and purred lightly as their tongues twisted together in bliss. It took a polite cough from the young man before Ruby reluctantly pulled herself from Ava. “Gah!” She excimed and looked at her new crewmate, “Digger, ya has a way of stop’n the best fun, aye?” She rolled her twinkling hazel eye and pulled Ava closer to her. “Looky here, one more tale then across the sands ya go for a wee bit.” Ruby ughs, “Unless my lovely Avanora here, wants more bbber’n and less attention.” She gnced at her partner and watched the blue-skinned woman blush and make her skin almost purple.
Shivering with the remains of the kiss Ruby pnted on her without warning, Avanora sighed contently and ran her thin finger over Ruby’s scarred cheek just below her eyepatch. “Lovez. You always give attention to the new crew, yez? I have long heard you zpin your stories until sun up and the others have fallen into a drunken stupor, right?”
Leaning into the gentle finger on her cheek, Ruby nodded. “What of it, say you?” Ruby ughed, “We was in negotiations a’fore Digger arrived. Pleasant ones they be too, y ta that.” Ruby saw the content look in her lover's silvery eyes. “Alright, fine it be. I’ll keep chatt’n then.” She gently kissed Ava’s finger. “Pys it all by ear, we will. What say you?”
Nodding and tucking part of her ptinum-white hair behind her ear, Ava giggled. “Aye, love.” Ava reached into her robe and a few seconds ter opened her hand and blew the dust she’d palmed into the air, causing a bright dispy of stary-like particles to dance in the air. “The st of Captain Jaquez, if you please my Ruby.” Ava cooed and ran her fingers over the tattoo on Ruby’s navel that bore her name.
Patting her trusted dagger, Ruby opened another bottle of rum and took a healthy swig before addressing Digger. “Now, ya see..there be facts ya need’n un’erstand. Ruby had been at sea with the dastardly Captain Jaques for about two years, me thinks.” She looked in the air briefly and then smiled, “Aye, Ol’Ruby on spot for that she was, two bold years…”
“Bad luck girl…bad, bad…nay good never.” Ruby listened to one of her fellow pirates named Barry ‘Cranky’ Barlowe compin about his unfortunate losses in dice for the tenth time in the night. “You gots to be in line with sharks, aye..devil woman.” Ruby sat quietly and waited for ‘Cranky’s’ whining to stop, before she took her eyes off the burly sailor.
Slipping her hand down to her waist for the comfort of her dagger hilt, Ruby lightly licked her magenta-colored lips and casually blew her companion a fake kiss. “Mayhaps, ya star’n too hard at me, wishing for your luck here..” She grabbed a handful of her healthy-sized tits teasingly, “..and not on the roll’n bones. Aye, I can see ya gre’n you know.” She pyfully giggled and picked up the dice. “Are ya in or out, Cranky?” Ruby smiled as she watched the man blush three shades of red after she touched herself. She opened her hand and kissed a single die, leaving a small print on the six. “Alright Cranky, double or noth’n? If’n that six pops it's wicked head out, ya can have yer silver back. She kissed the opposite die on the one. “Here ye this now, and be known that if this one comes up, Ya pay double. Do we have an accord?” Ruby looked around the room and saw the shocked looks on the other pirates' faces.
“That is heaven’s silver, One-Eye. Him’s whole bounty, ya can’t be bett’n like that, girl.” A middle-aged man named Sandford ‘Sandy’ Fisc spoke up calmly. An imposing figure even sitting down, Sandy stood nearly seven feet tall with a short bck beard and matching hair that came down to his shoulders. “Nay even able to get clothes that way, ya eel.” Cleverly grinning and leaning on his elbow and hand, Sandy thrummed his long fingernails on the table and gave a warning, “Cranky, don’t do it. You know what’ll happen, sure as the water be salty.”
Handing the dice to Cranky, Ruby casually stacked her pile of silver and then started flipping a few coins through her agile fingers. “Hush’n her lips, Sandy. Ya try’n to stop me fun, ya are. Swine. Here.” Ruby slid her bottle of rum to the tall man, “Wrap yer lips over that and quiet ya be.” She focused on Cranky. “Them’s the bet, aye?”
“Come ye here on now, girlie. A fools bet the others say tis. Gimme some odds.” Cranky huffed and looked to the others for support. “Ya already bloodied the waters, girl. Ol’Cranky on is ass I am.” The older gray-bearded sailor whimpered.
With an idea fshing in her head, Ruby lifted one of her fingers. “Since we be makin’ up this game in the moment, I’ll give ya a line.” Ruby winked her sparkling hazel eye. “For every roll that our numbers nay come up, I’ll pay the difference, aye?” She leaned forward and pushed her cleavage a bit, while resting on her hand. “Here be the real twister, turn ya ears. Along with, Ruby will kiss the die in order…ya know, six, five, four..your brain handle that Cranky?”
Burping loudly after polishing off Ruby’s rum, Sandy ughed and picked at his teeth in thought. “Well now, if’n ya kissin..” The others started ughing, “Why stop with the die? Sp ol’Cranky with yer lips as well.”
“What?” Cranky suddenly jumped in his chair. “Eh, she fancies dies. Fires in hell doused before she kisses a guy, aye?” Humming lightly to himself, Cranky finally nodded. “Aye, that be fair as well. What ya you, Ruby?”
“Finally a wager.” Ruby beamed and picked up her die. “Sea maiden’s luck fer ya, gonna be need’n it.”
Sandy nudged the sailor beside him. “This be funny ta watch, hims just bitch’n about loos’n and here him again on a fools' errand.”
Rubbing her hands together with her die between her palms, Ruby softly blew on the little white cube. “Sea and silver, we py and pay, here comes my number today.” Ruby flicked her wrist at the same time that Cranky did, and both die rolled on the table towards each other and bounced to a stop. Leaning back in her chair, Ruby raised one of her eyebrows and whistled lightly.
Squishing his eyes closed, Cranky could only hear the dice and the water hitting the boat. When the cubes stopped, none of his fellow pirates made a sound. “Guys?” Cranky inquired. After a few moments of silence, Cranky peeked at the dice with one of his eyes. “Damn you to the depths, Ruby. How did ye make that happen, aye? Cheat’n girl!”
When the others around the table started to talk quietly amongst themselves, Ruby pointed to her lipstick-printed one and his five. “Them’s the same dice we’ve been toss’n all night, swears to it on me dagger, Cranky.” She waved her hand, “Come on, hand over yer booty.” She looked at the others, and flipped them all a silver. “Good py’n boys.”
