“What are you waiting for? Hurry up and drink it. You’re going to croak any second now.”
“I don’t understand. You do know only one of us can survive, right?”
“Well, we’ll see about that.”
A vague theory had formed in my mind, one that I intended to test here and now. Strolling through the clearing, I gathered every beastman corpse I could find, or whatever was left of them.
Hardly any remained intact; they had mostly been turned into scorched, mangled jumbles of flesh. I carefully sorted through the bodies, looking for any that seemed somewhat salvageable. After I’d chosen my candidates, I swiftly severed them with the remaining half of the Nanoblade and stacked them by my side.
The beastman’s brows furrowed in anger as he snarled, "The hell you think you’re doing? Do you really want to fight to the death?”
“Shut up, and just watch. I’m not doing this out of disrespect.”
First, the legs. I neatly lopped off my hairy Deinopi legs and activating
The beastman’s eyes bulged with shock as he watched my new pair of legs gradually begin to twitch and he whispered, “You......what in the worlds are you?”
“Just a nobody from a Tier 6 world.”
Soon, I had replaced both my arms with beastman limbs as well, yet the notification I was waiting for still didn’t appear. Maybe it still needed a little bit more.
With a sigh, I raised the Nanoblade once more and sliced off my nose, causing the world’s greatest nosebleed. Holding the slightly moist, dark brown beastman nose to my gushing face, I once again activated
A kaleidoscope of different scents assaulted me, temporarily overwhelming my senses. It was as if I had recovered from a bad cold, with my congested nostrils suddenly clearing, multiplied 10-fold. I could smell the aroma of fresh earth beneath my feet, the acrid smell of ozone left by the lightning, and the terror of the beastman.
Still not enough it seems.
This time, I removed my ears and substituted them for a pair of soft, furry ears. I bet if I returned to my world looking how I do right now, there’d be a certain type of enthusiasts trying to kidnap me.
Similar to when I’d replaced my nose, it felt as if a thick veil had been lifted and the world revealed itself anew before me. Now, I’d be able to detect or track down something even if I wasn’t able to see it directly, which would be invaluable against an ambush.
The best part, however, was that the notification I’d been hoping would appear finally activated.
Ding!
Hahahahaha! It actually worked!
The beastman, jaw slack with disbelief, stuttered, "I-I dont get it....what just happened? How was the Objective completed?”
With a smug smile, I said, “The Objective stated that all other races had to be eliminated. That just means that as long as we’re the same race, there’s no issue. I’ve attached enough parts to myself that in the eyes of the System, I’m a bona fide beastman.”
“What...wha...that makes no sense. You were clearly some strange half-spider creature....”
Yeah, you can go kick rocks buddy.
Leaving the beastman muttering in disbelief, I turned my attention to the part I’d been looking forward to the most; the loot!
A bright silver, virtual treasure chest had materialized in front of us. I reached out and selected it, causing it to play a cute little animation of fireworks exploding as it opened.

Ding!
I quickly inspected the Leapfroggers EX first, as it was the one I’d been most curious about. It had originally just been labelled as Leapfroggers, but had changed to EX when the Heretic God had interfered.
Retrieving it from the inventory, what appeared in my hands was a pair of vibrant green boots. Along the sides of the boots, embossed patterns of lily pads and rippling water could be seen. The soles appeared to be made of a strange, elastic substance. Honestly, it looked like something a preschooler would wear in the rain.
It was fine though, since this gorgeous face looked good in anything.
I immediately ran to the beastman and tightly hugged him, planting a big, fat smooch on his cheek.
The beastman recoiled in horror and confusion, desperately trying to push me off but was still too weak to do so.
“Get off me, you disgusting bastard! I don’t swing that way!”
“Hahahaha, no need to act like that between old friends! You’re my lucky star buddy!”
Looking at me like I was some sort of mental patient, the beastman slowly backed away from me with his hands raised as I continued to smile and laugh like a fool.
Ah, that’s right, I still haven’t checked the other item!
Still chortling, I inspected the new potions I’d received.
Well, this was basically useless. I no longer had any need of my human body, and I could simply swap out parts on the fly. Maybe I could trade them for something later.
Nevertheless, my cheery mood remained unbroken as I gleefully rubbed the Leapfroggers EX against my face.
Once I’d somewhat settled down, I spoke to the cowering beastman,”Hey, my ID is Adun. Send me an Ally request.”
“Why?”
“Just do it when I tell you to, man.”
Ding!
I quickly accepted the request and the name Kaelen appeared in my previously empty Allies list.
Mom, I finally made a friend at school!
Selecting his profile, I was able to view his status and basic details.
I selected the Gift option and sent Khaelen 10,000 points, now leaving me with slightly more than 30,000 points.
In a puzzled voice, Khaelen said, “Why’d you send me points?”
“Just giving you your fair share of the rewards. You guys tried to kill me first, and I killed one of your companions. You saved my life, and I saved yours. Now we’re completely even.”
With a bemused look, Khaelen spoke, “You’re a strange one, you know that. And I’m not even talking about that bizarre ability of yours. Any other otherworlder would have immediately slain me and moved on. So.....thanks. And I’m sorry about attacking you.”
“Well, it’s all in the past now. Do it again though, and I’ll attach one of your arms and use it to pick my boogers.”
“.............................................”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
With everything finally settled, we both began our preparations to leave after a brief period of rest. We chatted about our worlds, our past lives, what we’d do when we returned. It made me realize once more the burdens we carried; the quiet desperation within all of us to save our worlds.
The ruined clearing didn’t simply contain the corpses of a few different races; they were the last remnants of worlds that had now been reduced to ashes.
A tinge of sadness could be heard in Khaelen’s voice as he spoke, a silent truth heavily hanging taut between us.
As the last member of his race remaining on Bellona, his world’s fate had virtually been sealed.
Yet, we continued to smile and talk about our future plans as if one day they’d come true.
Eventually, the time came; it was time to go. Neither of us asked the other what their plans were.
“Farewell.”
“Farewell............friend.”
