Day 4,577

  Day 4,577

I couldn't remember what happened in the last three days.

The only thing I remembered was going into the lake. And then there was a brief lapse in my memory, and I found myself lying in the mobile infirmary, being tended by a healer while we continued our journey.

From what I could gather, I was found floating in the lake, face down in the water. No one knew how long I had been there, but it could only have been minutes. Otherwise, I would have died from drowning. They took me back to camp, and I was asleep for the last three days until now.

Eina was hysterical. She barely left my side, and she cried when she learned I had already woken up. I guessed what happened was a good thing; she promised to be less annoying from now on, and she would obey my instructions to the letter.

I was back on my horse by late afternoon, but I still needed rest, so I rode with the main convoy. But despite my fast recovery, my mind was elsewhere. It seemed I had forgotten something important, though I don't know what it is. However, there was a strange word ringing in my head, like an afterthought.
