Chapter 7 : the night twinning of hearts

That day still feels like a dream I never want to wake up from. We were coming back, and just like always, I fell asleep on his shoulder during the ride. It had become my comfort spot, a place where I felt safe, calm, and loved. Because of me, he couldn’t drive—we had to stop—but he didn’t mind. He just let me rest, holding me gently, like I was the most precious thing he had.

An hour later, I woke up and saw him asleep too, looking so peaceful—like a baby. I can still picture his face so clearly: soft, calm, and unbelievably adorable. One of his arms was wrapped around me protectively, and the other held my left hand tightly, as if he never wanted to let go. That moment is etched into my heart forever. I just lay there for a few seconds, smiling to myself, wondering how I got so lucky.

After reaching home, he went to his place but came back as soon as he could and joined me in bed again. He didn’t say much—he didn’t have to. Just being next to me was enough. We slept for a while, wrapped in each other’s warmth, until I woke up to the sound of people planning to go to the indoor stadium for Garba night. I got excited instantly—it’s something I always look forward to. When he woke up, I told him, and he agreed to come. My heart felt so full.

He went back to his place to get ready. An hour passed, and I called him. “Where are you?” I asked, expecting him to say he was on the way. But he said, “I’m not coming tonight.” My heart sank. My mood instantly dropped. I didn’t even feel like going anymore. A few minutes later, though, the doorbell rang. I opened it—and there he was. IT WAS HIM.

To top it all off, we were accidentally twinning. Ugh, it was perfect.

I looked at him, half smiling, half shocked. “You told me you aren’t coming?” I asked.

He smirked and said, “How can this happen? I’ll have to go with you, and I will not come? It’s impossible.”

I couldn’t stop laughing. He always knew how to lift my mood. We rushed to the stadium since we were already late. As soon as we got there, he held my hand and pulled me straight into the crowd, full of energy and excitement. He was jumping around like a little kid, glowing with joy. And as always, I was just admiring him—like no one else ever could.

While I danced, he recorded every single move of mine, capturing the night like a proud partner. After all the dancing, he turned on his “father mode” and took me to get food, making sure I ate properly.

And when it was time to leave, he held me close and crossed the road like a man—protective, steady, mine.
