Chapter 7 : Discourse

The rain poured relentlessly, hammering down like a barrage of bullets. In the guild, there were as many people talking as the sound of the rain outside. However, the atmosphere at Skye's table was heavy, in stark contrast to the lively chatter around them. Although no one was staring at them right now, Jack's distorted expression was still in Skye's mind, and he would definitely not be able to fall back asleep anytime soon.

"Ugh, dang it. Jack, can you quit making that face?" As soon as Cilly spoke, Skye was able to look away from Jack's face and found that Cilly was grabbing Mica's chest muscles that were not covered by the vest. In a split second, there was a 'Bzzt' sound, like the sound of small static electricity on Cilly's palm, Before a loud BZZZT! echoed through the room. Mica jolted awake and turned around before turning back to yell at Cilly. "What the hell are you doing, Shorty?"

"I was trying to wake up the sleepyhead," Cilly said innocently, smiling smugly, raising an eyebrow and standing with her hands on her hips, before she turned her chair back and sat down. "By the way, where did we end up?" Cilly said, turning to Skye and Jack, while Mica stood up and returned to his seat.

"Well, umm, actually..." Skye said, trying to remember what they had just talked about, and Jack interrupted him. "Well, we just wrapped up, but got something else in mind?"

"Hmm, I don't remember what I was going to ask you," Cilly muttered, frowning at herself. "Whatever, we're stuck in the rain anyway. It's not a bad idea to kill time, right Mica?" Cilly said, then turned to Mica, who was holding his head, which had been hit countless times, before he nodded slightly in response.

The four of them were silent for a while, looking at each other, not knowing where to start or what to talk about. "Where did Stevphen go, by the way? He seemed in a hurry this morning," Skye asked. "Oh, he's handling some issues, something about 'Red Riding Hood' or 'Doppel' roaming the city," Mica said, nodding toward the guild's noticeboard "You can check it out over there."

Skye got up from his chair and leaned in the direction Mica was pointing, but before he could take a step,

"Have you heard any rumors about 'Bloody Fox' tely?" Jack's question made Skye pause for a moment before he sat down and stared at Jack. "Bloody Fox?" The name struck something deep within Skye, his heartbeat faltered, his hands trembled, and cold sweat beaded on his skin. It was a name that made him feel heavy in his chest just by hearing it. Even though it was the first time he heard the name, it had taken root in Skye's soul, as if vines were growing inside his body.

"He's a criminal. Even though we call 'him', no one knows if he's a man or a woman," Cilly said, raising both hands and shaking her head. "Well, wearing a cloak like that, running fast, hiding well, and coming out at night, it's no wonder no one knows his identity," Mica muttered, then he raised his hand to call the waiter. "Want to order something to eat? But you have to pay for it yourself. I won't treat you," Mica said firmly, then turned to look at the three people.

Cilly's ears twitched slightly before she turned to Mica. "I'll have the omelet," followed by Jack's voice. "Steak... and two gsses of liquor." Mica then turned to look at Skye, tilted his head, and raised his eyebrows slightly. "Oh, I'll pass," Skye replied in a low voice, waving his hand.

"Alright," Mica replied with an indifferent face before he turned to tell the menu to the waiter standing in front of the table. "Speaking of which... this pce is like a multi-purpose store," Jack chuckled softly before starting to count on his fingers. "You can take missions, order food, gather information, socialize, and even make friends," Jack muttered before ughing loudly and hitting the table several times, causing Cilly who was sitting there to flinch.

As soon as Cilly came to her senses, she shouted at Jack loudly. "Oh, come on, stop ughing for no reason. Are you crazy?" She then turned to Skye. "Right?, Skye... Skye?" Skye didn't answer, his body was pale. Skye's face was bnk, his eyes unblinking, and his mouth agape. Cilly saw that and tried to reach out to touch Skye's neck, before a soft 'Bzzt' sound made him excim.

"Shit, shit, what the hell?" He grabbed the back of his head and stared at Cilly. "Can't help it. You just made a face like a corpse, so I gave you a little stimution." Cilly said innocently, looking at her fingers, and whistled rhythmically. Skye clenched his fists slightly, pursed his lips, closed his eyes, and sighed in and out. Then the voice of the waiter interrupted his thoughts. "The omelet is ready." Followed by Cilly's thank you.

When she got the food, she started to put the food in her mouth without hesitation. "Sigh, how long will it take?" Jack lowered his head, resting his forehead against the table, and sighed. "Well, you ordered a steak, so it will take a while. And you haven't even ordered for 3 minutes. Please be patient." Mica spoke in a calm tone, but it was also slightly irritated.

"Speaking of which, do you think 'Bloody Fox' is a man or a woman?" Jack looked up and asked in a zy tone.

Mica and Cilly looked at each other for a moment before answering in unison, "A man." Mica put his hand on his chin before saying, "From his actions and the rumors, I can tell he's a man."

Jack lowered his head and put his hand on his chin before muttering, but his voice was still not soft enough to cover the three people. "I think so too. But... if 'Bloody Fox' is a cute loli girl, even if she wants to kill me, I'll let her stab me to death." After he finished speaking, Jack ughed softly in his throat.

Leaving Mica, Cilly, and Skye with their mouths wide open and their eyes wide, they tried to think back and forth whether what they had just heard was true or if they had just misheard it. But when the three of them looked at each other, they knew immediately that what they had just heard was definitely true. And they spoke at the same time, in a calm tone mixed with a sense of pity and disgust, "You greedy perverts."

Suddenly, someone smmed the guild door and rushed in quickly, attracting the attention of everyone around, including Mica, Cilly, and Skye. The sound of rain outside could be heard in the guild. The wind blew and almost extinguished the candles, leaving only the silence of the pce.

His skin was ghostly pale, his breath ragged. Rainwater and mud clung to his clothes as he stumbled inside, shouting Jack's name. "Jack, Jack, are you... here?" He said while breathing heavily.

"Oh, Pol, what's wrong? What are you doing here? Why did you call for me?" Jack immediately stood up and walked towards the man who was standing panting in front of him.

"J... Jack, your unit... was killed." When the man finished speaking, This made Jack stand still for a moment before he walked over and squeezed the man's shoulder. There was a loud, crunching sound, followed by the man's cry of pain.

Jack's voice was ft, but a faint tremor betrayed him. "WHERE?"
