Chapter 14: World Wonder

A bloody tornado formed over time and soon another blood clone was born. Anos lacked a clone in his sea of incarnations to control this one for now.

"I'll name you Gloom. Codename C2."

Anos realized a major problem with his current system. Even if others don't associate him with the clones and they appear to act independently.

  The truth was...

Anos only knew the same spells. If everyone saw him fighting in the exact same way across all his clones. Wouldn't that be a bit too obvious?

  "I am 42 years old..."

"I am currently at the perfection of qi condensation..."

"It will take me a few years to reach the 11th level. Once I do that. I should be able to raise my avatar to the point where I can test building my foundation!"

Anos decided that he would develop different fighting styles for each of his clones.

"The best way would be to learn martial arts..."

Anos figured that learning martial arts in isolation without a guide wouldn't end well. The thing about using his avatar to create spells was that the spell either worked or it didn't.

Cultivation spells are extremely complex. Yet, through trial and error. Anos had made over a dozen of his own. But fighting techniques. While they were used mostly by mortals and cultivators disdained them. They still had their own secrets. There was also the matter of identity.

Anos felt that he couldn't just appear out of nowhere.

  He needed an identity!

If someone looked into his background and found no traces. If they saw that he just appeared of nowhere. They might be able to guess some of his abilities.

  "Solis!"

One of his clones looked at him.

Anos had a rather weird idea.

He gazed into the eyes of his clone and repressed the eyes of god of his blood clone. Anos infused spiritual energy into his eyes as he pulled the clone into an illusion.

Anos was doing self-hypnosis through illusions. Just like he had done before to unlock some of the potential of the secret etched in his soul. This time he was forming restrictions on the memories of this clone. Anos noticed that the dimension in his sea of incarnations was covered in fog.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

Anos felt that he could still receive the sensory information from his clone. But the clone was operating off logic from the memories he had left it.

As for cultivation? The dream valley?

  These memories were sealed!

But what about his clones level of cultivation? His clone was at the eighth level of qi condensation. Anos set a seal over Solis to prevent him from being able to even sense spiritual energy, let alone use it.

  He had essentially restricted it.

  "Where am I?"

Solis spoke in confusion and looked at their surroundings. He saw a mysterious man staring at him.

"You are at the village of no return."

  "What happened to me?"

"You passed out from overexertion..." The mysterious man spoke.

Solis felt like he was forgetting something important.

The mysterious man spoke to him and asked him basic questions. Like what his name was. What was the last thing he remembered?

"I was on my way to Haven to enroll into school..."

"We were attacked by bandits? But. You saved us!" Anos had created false memories for his clone.

Solis didn't even bother to think about what happened to the others. It was as if he had a mental blind spot.

Solis didn't even remember the wolf attack. It didn't make sense to have them remember the true details as there were too many contradictions.

Solis seemed a bit anxious. He had this creepy feeling that something ancient was watching his every move. This village was quiet. Too quiet!

"Well. Thank you for saving me! But I need to get to Haven before school starts..."

  The mysterious man smiled...

"Do you need a map of the area?" Anos asked his clone.

  "That would be much appreciated!"

"Follow me." Solis followed Anos until they reached an empty room.

  Solis had a bad feeling.

  "Alright. The test is over."

  "Test?"

  "A2! Awaken!"

Solis felt baptized by information. The seal over his cultivation was removed and he became confused.

  "I am... you?"

Anos felt that a tiny bit of independent consciousness had been formed. He could clearly feel a sort of quantum storm being born in one of the dimensions of his sea of incarnations.

Anos felt he could snuff this awareness out. But he figured it could be rather useful.

  "Wrong! You are Solis..."

Anos waved his hand and the intelligence in Solis's eyes vanished. He then stood there like a golem awaiting instructions.

Anos had learned a new application of his ability.

"Perhaps 'The Actors' can be made entirely from my clones. But it'll likely require me to have an insane level of cultivation to be able to handle the stress. But giving them a quasi-free will can give them a different outlook!"

  "Has the relic been recovered?"

  "No..."

Zaphiela had finally left the dream valley! It took a few days to reach her father to report. Despite spending ten years in that hell. She had finally returned. But what she found out shocked her.

Only a few days had passed for the rest of the world. It was as if everything she had experienced was a dream...

Her father was relieved inwardly, but hid his feelings. He was happy she could return.

  "Go have a good rest..."

"You don't need to keep searching!"

  "Yes. Father."

Zeraph had dug up everything relating to this dream valley. The waters were quite deep and he felt a bit of fear.

"One of the wonders of the world has vanished? What do you mean?" A man in golden lined robed sat on a throne leaning on one hand.

"Sir. We have been keeping a close eye on Dream Valley. But of the ten known locations it has always been located. The mysterious power seems to have disappeared."

"So. Someone has finally found that relic?"

  "We believe so!"

"Find this person... Bring them to me alive."
