Chapter 75: Escaping Blue Sea City

The rebels discussed among themselves. Some suggested retreating from Blue Sea City first, others proposed supporting General Li's troops, and still others recommended splitting into two groups—one to retreat and escape, and another to support General Li's troops. During this discussion, Rulu stood silently to the side, not saying a word.

Because their opinions were divided, the rebels discussed for quite a while without determining their next course of action. Suddenly, the bald man with the scar turned his gaze toward Rulu, and with a flattering smile said: "Hey, masked young brother, I see you seem to know something about military operations. What do you think of our current situation?"

"You're asking for my opinion," Rulu looked at the bald man with the scar and said in a deep voice. "The current situation is very unfavorable for you. According to the intelligence we have, the Sanctuary side still has over 300 armored troops, nearly a thousand battle vehicles, and their military strength is three to four times that of General Li's forces. Under these circumstances, it would be very difficult for General Li's troops to safely retreat from Blue Sea City. Even if they managed to break through, they would suffer heavy casualties. You have basically lost this battle."

"Well, I know that," the bald man with the scar rubbed his bald head, looking uncomfortable as he said, "But is there any way to turn the tide and help General Li's troops break through the encirclement?"

Rulu chuckled and said: "Actually, helping General Li's troops break through isn't difficult. It just depends on whether you're willing to do it."

"Are you serious? You really have a way to help them break through?!" The bald man with the scar had just asked casually, but hearing that Rulu actually had a solution, he immediately asked eagerly.

Rulu said: "Yes, but this requires your full cooperation, following my commands unconditionally."

The bald man with the scar nodded repeatedly, saying: "Of course, we'll certainly listen to you. Just like before, you continue to be our commander. Isn't that right, everyone?"

The other rebels also expressed their willingness to follow Rulu's commands, as they had witnessed Rulu's capabilities earlier and no longer doubted his abilities.

Captain Guan looked at Rulu earnestly and said: "If you really have a solution, Commander, please tell us quickly. General Li and his troops are extremely important to us. We must help them retreat safely, no matter what."

Rulu made an affirmative sound and said slowly: "Captain Guan, do you know where the nearest underground tunnel entrance is in this area?"

"Underground tunnel, let me check." Captain Guan quickly took out a map from his pocket and studied it carefully. After a while, he said: "The nearest underground tunnel entrance is to the east, about ten kilometers from here."

Rulu waved his hand and announced loudly: "Good, everyone prepare. We're heading east. Our destination is the underground tunnel in the eastern direction. We'll evacuate Blue Sea City through the underground tunnel."

"Wait a minute," the bald man with the scar raised an objection. "Commander, didn't you just say you'd help General Li's troops break through? If we retreat through the eastern underground tunnel, what about General Li's troops?"

Rulu said: "Don't worry, I have a solution for General Li's situation. You don't need to worry about them."

"Do you really have a way to help General Li break through?" someone cast a doubtful glance at Rulu. "You're not thinking of abandoning General Li and running away yourself, are you? Making up a lie to deceive us?"

"Yes, General Li's troops are in the northwest, but you want us to go east. How does this help them?"

The rebels all cast doubtful glances at Rulu, not quite believing his words.

Rulu said: "You just said you were willing to follow my commands, yet you're changing your minds so quickly. If you don't trust me, find someone else to help you."

The crowd was silenced by Rulu's words. They looked at each other, not knowing what to say. At this moment, Captain Guan raised both hands and said loudly: "Alright, everyone, stop arguing. Let's do as he says. Let's move immediately."

"Fine, let's do as he says. At this point, we're just treating a dead horse as if it were alive," the bald man with the scar shook his head and sighed. The others, like him, though not fully trusting Rulu's words, had no other options and could only listen to him.

Afterward, the rebels drove the armored transport vehicles parked near the square to the square, and also acquired several dozen buses from the city district. They settled the rescued prisoners on these vehicles. Soon after, the convoy started moving, heading grandly toward the east.

"Governor, the rebels at the square have started moving. They're driving east. Judging by their route, it seems they're heading for the underground tunnel in the eastern direction," Jason, hovering in mid-air, said into his communicator while following the rebel convoy below.

Governor Su Wen said: "So they plan to escape Blue Sea City through the underground tunnel. Is there any way to intercept them?"

Jason said: "No, all our forces in Blue Sea City are engaged with the main rebel forces. We have no forces in the eastern direction."

"This is troublesome," Governor Su Wen said thoughtfully. "In that case, dispatch a small team from the main battlefield to pursue the escaping rebels. Don't deploy too many people, or we won't have sufficient forces to annihilate the main rebel forces."
