I watched it all unfold from the monitors. I felt like a useless sack of crap. Just sitting in a padded chair, waiting around, watching bullets fly, watching people die; it sucked. My eyeballs were just glued to the screen, waiting, hoping for something to turn up positive.
Uwu and Speck had made it down to the ptforms before the rail car docked. I could see my love start to point around, guiding the militia to better cover and directing them to positions to crossfire and mow down the oncoming assault. The group was rowdy, unruly, and not very open to cooperation.
This was going to end up bad. They needed to work together, but the adrenaline and bloodlust had taken them in too deep.
A raspy voice pulled me from my thoughts, “Did we win?”
My head shot over to Echo, relief washing over me as he looked around with a dazed face, eyebrows crunched together. At least one good thing happened, I just hoped the good vibes kept on coming.
“No, Uwu and Speck are down at the ptforms. Hostiles incoming. Just a rowdy militia to defend us. It’s not looking good.” I gave a half-assed smile at Echo. There wasn’t much to say but the truth.
Echo tried to move, grunting with each pulse of his muscles. I bent down to help him out, grabbing his arm and hoisting him to a chair to the best of my ability.
“Why aren’t you down there?” He grunted as he smmed down in the chair.
I gnced over the bullet wounds on his body. The bleeding had stopped, but that didn’t mean he was still in trouble.
“I finally killed that asshole Misionary, but my ankle took a beating. I’m no use hobbling around, except for maybe a meat shield.” I chuckled nervously.
Echo began to ugh too, but he started coughing violently before slumping back down into his chair, “Yeah, fuck this.” He adjusted himself, “It’s best for you to be here then. I don’t need you taking anymore shots. Shit, I’ve taken enough.”
I rubbed his shoulder, “Take it easy man. If things go wrong, we’ll be the st line of defense.”
I watched as the rail car finally made it to the station, slowly pulling into the terminal. Sparks erupted from the car. Bullets ricocheted off the metal and thick gss windows. Uwu was waving them down, trying to stop them from wasting their ammo. Some obliged, others kept doing whatever they felt.
A small group approached the rail car, waving their guns in the air, shouting, and popping off a few shots at the train.
“Huh,” Echo leaned forward, “Fucking idiots have a death wish.”
I pursed my lips as the rail car doors shot open. The workers weren’t ready for this. They didn’t stand a chance when they were actually up against something ready for them. Unsuspecting guards getting mauled is one thing, but a trained force ready to kill, that was something entirely bigger than they could imagine.
The small group lowered their guns at the doors and opened fire, they didn’t get much shots off though, the burst into clouds of red mist as the Corpo forces opened fired behind shields. They tossed some grenades out, fshing the cameras with a bright light and loud bangs. Other grenades went off too, from the sounds of it.
Some screams, more gunfire, shouts from the militia, direct orders from the Corpo forces, all of it taking pce at the same time. The screen regained imaging. The Corpos surged forwards, rushing from the car, fanning left and right as they fired at any militia member they could see.
I could see some movement behind the rail car. I looked around the console to find some way to switch the cameras.
“What are you doing?” Echo coughed a little as his eyebrows furrowed.
“Something’s going on behind the train… look.” I pointed to the screen, my finger jabbing into the gss cover, “They need to be warned, this isn’t good.” I scoured for the intercom controls, trying to remember what Uwu had used before.
“Fuck,” Echo wheezed, “This ain’t good. It’s a fucking slug repeater.” He leaned back into his chair, slowly closing his eyes.
I tapped my ear piece to see if it worked. My eyes still searching for the coms controls. “Uwu, the back of the train, they got a fucking slug repeater, on the train, dammit!” He was still hiding behind cover, instructing those who would listen, putting up a damn good fight, but if that repeater went off, they’d all be red paint spttered across the wall.
Uwu held his hand up to his ear but shook his head. He gnced at the nearest camera, staring right at me through the CCTV void. He held up his hands, shouting something. I couldn’t make it out through the shooting, explosions, and general death going on.
I grabbed the camera controls and did the first thing that came to mind. I turned the camera to face the train, right where some Corpo goons were climbing up the train. Uwu turned his head to follow the camera. His eyes went wide and he stood, grabbing others and pushing them back, bsting at the train car.
Milita that could hear him began to retreated into the halls, shooting as they ran from bullet fire. The slug repeater was now assembled and ready to fire. I watched in slow motion as the goon pulled back the bolt that chambered the first round.
BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM
Fire erupted from each bst zone. Bits of rock chipped and sprayed across the terminal. Bodies turned to crimson much upon impact, like little invisible bombs were going off all around the ptform. The cover Uwu was behind was turned to rubble in the matter of seconds.
“Explosive rounds, fucking bastards.” I spoke aloud to the room. Echo didn’t stir.
Nothing escaped the destruction that spewed from that death machine. The cameras fshed white before going bck. All vision was gone. I slumped down into my chair. Things weren’t looking good. Where the fuck were the Meowtw Stars?
We were fucked now.
