Chapter Two

  Chapter Two: POV – Bug

  On Earth..

I trace my bandaged fingers over the patterned blanket underneath me, staring out the cracked shades of the window next to me. The cold wind whipping against my face, a shiver running down my spine. Uncalled for memories popping up occasionally from two years age. The tragedy of my girlfriend still lingering. Hanging above my head like a never ending storm cloud. My room is bare expect for the few clothes I have lying on my floor which I couldn’t be bothered to fold. I reach over to the end of my bed and shove one ear bud into my left ear. The soft melody is soothing, and my eyes squeeze shut as my head lulls to the music.

My peace is interrupted by a short tap on my shoulder. I flinch in surprise and whip my head around. “MOTHER FU-“ I scream but the instant shock wears off as I see it is my slightly older brother who was sneaking up on me. My expression turns into an annoyed frown as he smirks down at me, failing to supress it. He mockingly raises his hands in innocence, like he just didn’t scare the living daylights out of me.

I roll my eyes at him but before we could say anything, our dads booming voice yelled out from the living room, clear as anything. “SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU LITTLE SHITS!” His voice is thick with alcohol, slurring together as he shouts back at us. Jay stiffens with the usual fear we face on a daily level, but the clear uneasiness is interrupted by the rings of my phones. I glance down at the cracked screen, seeing the caller ID as the ‘666’ group chat. Ah my friends, the only people beside Jay who care about me. I click the small green answer button at the bottom following three faces pop up onto the screen- Axel, Scout and Echo. Axel being an emo boy who goths would call a ‘poser’ due to his soft, happy outlook on life in general and just liking the style, generally the sweetest person I know. Echo, half bleached hair with the dry personality of a trash can, typical depressed girl if you ask me, wearing the same bland outfit every day. Then lastly theres Scout with the summery being enthusiastic, crazy bitch, Her dyed orange hair swaying by the breeze rushing past her.

“Okay, guys-“Scout starts but before she can finish, Jay shoves his face infront of mine, his eyes locked on Axel. If this was a cartoon there would be tiny hearts in his eyes.

“Baby!” He squeals, his voice reaching the highest pitch possible, his face practically pressed against the phone screen. The other boy turning a deep red, smiling in embarrassment but gives his boyfriend a tiny wave any way. The most obsessed couple ever, they only just saw each other yesterday at school.

I shove Jay’s face away from the screen, groaning as I do so. “Go take your stupid romance somewhere else.” I say, waving him away. He gasps then runs out in which I can only describe to be the stupidest run ever.

I slap my face, dragging my hand across my face in irritation. Scout sighs then continue, her smile returning. “Like I was saying before I was rudely interrupted. There’s gonna be another party at my house. My parents are going on some stupid holiday date thing. So its time for alcohol, drugs and the good stuff. You better come or I might I dunno piss in your house.”

Echo sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose with a tired groan” Wow, Scouts hosting another party. How bloody unpredictable” She says sarcastically, her face fully deadpanned expect for the faint blush powdering her cheeks.

Scout sticks her tongue out at the other girl, her smirk not fading for a second. “Oh, shuddup you.” Her tone sounding sassy.

“Get a room you two” I mutter under my breath but clear for all of them to hear. Echo’s head snaps up, giving me an intense glare before murmuring. “Shut the fuck up. Plus, I have a stable relationship with another guy remember”

“The old guy you fuck when he wants, ya mean?” I say, not really caring much for joking about the serious topic. She brought it up after all. Echo continues to glare threateningly at me, some of her bleached her falling in front of her face.

Axel, not wanting to get into a fight involving his friends love lives he jumps in his voice stuttering and soft as usual. “A-anyways, Scout when’s th-the party?” He asks, politely breaking up the soon to be staring contest.

Scout instantly perks up, her eyes widening. “Sunday duh. The whole grade is invited like usual and like usual we are gonna get fucked up!” She exclaimed raising a fist to the sky. Her hand cut off my the view of the screen. The group nods.
