Chapter 1.3

“All born of land and star walk beneath the gaze of the Goddesses.”

The world of Elgraad is vast, its continents shaped by millennia of divine influence, ancient wars, and natural wonders. The peoples of this world are diverse—each with their own beliefs, cultures, and deep ties to magic and myth. While some races thrive in the heart of civilization, others dwell in isolation or hidden lands untouched by time.

Though there are many sentient beings, eight major races shape the known world:

  Adaptable. Ambitious. Divided.

  • Masters of innovation and politics.

  •
  • Found in kingdoms, empires, and merchant republics.

  •
  • Worship Selphira, Goddess of Creation, and believe their Pillar always reflects her light.

  •
  • Known for short lives and fast progress.

  •

  Ethereal. Wise. Detached.

  • Long-lived and bound to nature and spirit.

  •
  • Live in ancient forests and crystalline sanctuaries.

  •
  • Worship Vaelis, Goddess of Order, and uphold balance above all.

  •
  • Known for Spirit Magic and their deep connection to nature.

  •

  Proud. Enduring. Feared.

  • Possess innate magical power and unmatched resilience.

  •
  • Dwell in volcanic regions, cursed lands, and underworld fortresses.

  •
  • Worship Arenya, Goddess of Destruction, embracing her will as cleansing, not evil.

  •
  • Often misunderstood by others; seen as agents of chaos.

  •

  Wild. Chaotic. Passionate.

  Stolen story; please report.

  • Shapeshifters by nature; their bodies evolve with will and emotion.

  •
  • Live nomadic lives in shifting territories and “mirage isles.”

  •
  • Worship Nymira, Goddess of Chaos, embracing emotion, change, and madness.

  •
  • Impossible to fully categorize—each tribe may differ wildly.

  •

  Mischievous. Elemental. Ancient.

  • Small, winged beings tied to elemental magic and emotion.

  •
  • Dwell in floating groves, magical oases, or deep jungles.

  •
  • View the gods as allies, not rulers.

  •
  • Can bond with nature spirits and influence natural magic.

  •

  Stubborn. Inventive. Loyal.

  • Masters of engineering, stonecraft, and rune-forging.

  •
  • Build massive underground cities and labyrinthine mines.

  •
  • Honor all goddesses but value balance and endurance.

  •
  • Rely more on Ki and tools than on traditional magic.

  •

  Colossal. Isolated. Ancient.

  • Towering humanoids believed to be remnants of the First Age.

  •
  • Dwell in the storm-wracked highlands or hidden mountain citadels.

  •
  • Rarely seen. Often worshipped as minor deities themselves.

  •
  • Magic flows through them, not from them.

  •

  Eternal. Elemental. Sovereign.

  • Not mere beasts, but sapient beings with culture, history, and magic.

  •
  • Some slumber beneath the world, others rule hidden realms.

  •
  • Magic incarnate; they need neither Ki nor Reiki—magic is their blood.

  •
  • Ancient pacts with gods long forgotten still linger in their bones.
