In the long line of creations that the gods invented there were many look-a-likes. One god would create gravity and the other would create magnetism. Two different things but clearly one had inspired the other. April's creation of life had inspired a healthy handful, Sun and Den among this group. Sun was quick to fall in love with April's works, he went on to create the chimera's. Den slow and wise, took his time but eventually he would become the inventor of summoning.
After the grand funeral of the gods Sun, Moon and Den were all that remained. Back then they got along well enough but once the Moon Goddess April began her work on her garden it became painfully obvious that Sun's chimeric inferno was a danger to April's works. Anywhere Sun went, a wake of fire followed. Out of frustration, April made an agreement with Den that she would grow her garden for his summoned dreamers if he would protect it from Sun.

Sun's love for the Moon drew him into a craze, during which Sun created his opus, a long tailed beast with wings, snout, horns and scales, Dorrad Chaos. Dragon being a more general term, Dorrads are often considerably more pure than the average Dragon (The process of creating a Chimera is rooted in alchemy and so there is a wide spectrum of purity.)
And so for a time Sun resided over the desert while Moon resided over the garden.
