Han Xinwan

The next moment, she suddenly stood up, gathering all her stuff. It seemed that she was getting ready to leave.

"All right, I think it's time for you to take a break. I believe that this conversation will be very helpful to our further investigation.

I will go over all the details later and print it out like a report so that I can discuss it with other officers in our next meeting.

If things are going well, next time when I come to you, I will let you know more about the Administration and what we're doing.

You must be hungry by now. I'll have someone bring you some food to eat. Don't push yourself so hard since you've just woken up from a nightmare.

Try to take more rest and take it easy.

I gotta go. Catch you later."

As she spoke, the mysterious woman walked towards the door.

But just then, Lun called for her attention:

"Excuse me? Please wait a minute. I still have one last thing to ask."

The woman stopped and turned to look at him when he raised his arm, showing her with the mystical bangle.

"Can you please help me take this thing off? I really don't want to wear it anymore. It feels like a handcuff."

The woman was amused by his words and explained:

"Come on...You've just woken up not long ago. Both your body and mind are not in good condition and need some time to recover.

If we take action now and try to remove the bangle from your wrist, it is very likely to have some side effects on you.

This is definitely something that we don't want to see. We hope you can understand."

Lun nodded his head, not saying anything.

But deep down in his heart, he already got the answer. What he just said was just a tricky question for figuring out how much did the woman know about the bangle.

Judging from the woman's reaction and her response, Lun was convinced that perhaps she really had no idea about the bangle or how to take it off.

The woman had told Lun that his health status was just fine. But then she refused to take off the bangle for him, using his body health and mental condition as the excuse.

  Stolen story; please report.

She was just against herself, which made her words sound not that convincing at all.

It seemed that she and the Administration behind her could not guarantee to take off the bangle from Lun without any risk involved.

In this way, Lun gave up the idea of getting rid of the bangle.

Meanwhile, the woman was approaching the door, ready to go out.

Lun seemed to have something on his mind and couldn't help speaking again:

"Um...Excuse me, may I ask where my smartphone is? Also, how many hours had passed since I passed out and you guys found me?"

The woman stopped right at the door and turned her head to look at him, thinking for a moment, and then said:

"Your mobile has been taken care of very well along with your other personal items. I will remind them to bring your mobile together with the food.

But just as I said before, that unusual energy pulse we detected has caused all the electricity and devices around the place where we found you out of service.

  Your mobile is no exception.

In fact, we cannot even turn it on now. Maybe it's totally down.

But don't worry. That is your personal item. Anyway, I'll just give it to you.

Besides, it has been three days since we found you."

When she was done with the talk, the woman pressed the button on the wall to activate the night mode which turned off the main lights on the ceiling and switched to ambient light instead.

  The room quickly turned dim.

At this moment, Lun spoke again:

"Hold on, hold on...one last question, seriously. Please."

The woman was about to open the door when she heard it.

  "What's wrong now?"

The woman smiled in a way that made Lun feel even more embarrassed.

But he still had to know:

"Well, may I ask your name, officer?"

The woman answered without any doubt:

  "My name is Han Xinwan."

After saying it, she instantly pressed the button on the wall and the door opened automatically.

She quickly moved out and the door closed right after her, leaving Lun to stay in the room.

Suddenly, it all became so quiet.

Since there was no one else in the room, Lun took a sigh of relief and soon started to go over the talk with Han Xinwan in his mind.

He needed to make sure that whatever he told people was flawless and could not be questioned.

After all he was just a nobody and his only purpose was to survive.

The first rule of survival, the less you know, the lower the risk will be.

  ...

  Meanwhile, outside the door.

Right after the door closed behind her, Han Xinwan took a sigh of relief and felt so tired.

She leaned against the door on her back, letting herself relax for a moment.

What was around her was an endless hallway just like the Grand Hotel she told Lun, doors of rooms on both sides, and there was this beautiful and well-crafted carpet laying on the ground.

There was a wall light in the form of room number [708] hanging on the wall next to the door where she was standing, and the numbers glowed like LEDs which obviously suggested that the room was occupied by someone that happened to be Xu Lun at this point of time.

Xinwan stayed there for a few seconds, and then raised her head to take a look.

At that moment, she was stunned.

Next to her left hand, just a few steps away, there was a whole bunch of people crowded to each other that looked quite careful, trying their best to keep quiet and it just seemed that they had overheard the talk in the room all the time.

  Xinwan realized it immediately.

Her face turned dark and instantly felt so embarrassed, questioning them with anger:

"What the hell you guys doing here? Don't you have things to do today? Have you done with your job yet?"
