Another week passed in the blink of an eye. My Pokémon where showing major improvements both physically and mentally. Po and Rapunzel were training together every day to learn Power Whip and Ancient Power, Tremor and Taco spent time together in a very odd way just copying each other’s movements, and Cha practiced his flying moves and delivered letters to Jenny.
Jenny said she would be available in two days for a training session, and we could plan our next date then as well. “I need to help figure out what her team should look like. She’ll need good coverage, and Pokémon that fit her style. Multiple options would be a good idea then” I said tapping a pencil on my head.

My team was going to look like a joke compared to Jenny’s, but I would rather everyone underestimate my new friends so the can show the world how strong they really are. The third team was going to take a lot of explaining, but she would have no problem beating the Elite 4. I’m not even sure if we will ever have more than 6 Pokémon, but at least I know we have Professor Oak to watch our Pokémon. Before we leave, I could build an extra corral just for our Pokémon so they can stay on their special diets. I got permission from Professor Oak to order some additional natural food for Jenny’s Pokémon. He seemed excited about having some non-lab Pokémon to point to for results as well. “So many things to think about, and not enough time” I said tapping my pencil again.

Two days later, I was walking to Viridian City with my team to train with Jenny. This time was special though because Tremor and Taco were slithering along with us. Tremor in the last week had started to get really good at basic movements and navigating soft and hard terrain. Taco started to treat everyone on the team as his older siblings, and was finally comfortable being out in the open. “Okay everyone, we are meeting Jenny at the practice field next to the Pokémon Center. We’ll be training with Queeny and Spitz today as well, so please be nice and helpful to them as well” I called out. All five of them responded with cheers and confirmations.
We got to the practice field about 10 minutes before we were supposed to meet Jenny, and got to watch two young trainers battling with a Sandshrew and a Spearow. “Sorry I’m late” Jenny said as she jogged up. “You’re not late at all. In fact, you are 8 minutes early” I said checking my new wrist watch I got from Professor Oak. “Here, while we wait for these two to finish, I have some sample teams for you to consider for the future” I said passing her the note I had made. “Mind you, I know where and how to get all of these Pokémon, but if you have any Pokémon you want specifically I can help you add them to the team as well” I said with a grin. “You’re going to have to explain all of these Pokémon I have never heard of before: Umbreon, Espeon, Magnezone, and Scizor. Also, why do you have two legendary birds listed for a potential team?” She said quietly. “Well, Umbreon & Espeon are two evolutions of Eevee that are Dark Type and Psychic Type respectively. Magnezone is the evolution of Magneton and is an extremely powerful Electric/Steel Type Pokémon. Scizor is the evolution of Scyther and is a powerful Bug/Steel Type Pokémon. In regards to the birds, they are some of the strongest Pokémon in the region and I know where and how to get them” I said in response. “That’s a lot of new information. Can you write some of the new types and some potential moves down as well just so I can try to make sure I am thinking straight?” Jenny asked me. “Sure! If you ever feel like you are missing something, don’t be afraid to ask. I will always ask you to explain if I don’t understand something” I said with a smile.
While we were talking strategy and planning what to practice, the two younger trainers finished up. “Okay Jenny, let’s let Spitz and Queeny show us their moves” I said jumping up and offering Jenny my hand. “Okay, you promise to help them and me right?” She asked looking worried. “Of course, and remember, this is just your first practice. All we want to do is find a good starting point today” I said trying to reassure her. After about 15 minutes, I had some info:
Spitz
-Tackle
-Ember
-Growl
-Leer
Queeny
-Growl
-Tackle
-Poison Sting
“Okay, looks like the have a good foundation” I said as I started thinking about what’s next. Jenny looked at me and the her Pokémon, “What are you thinking about?” She asked me. “Howl and Bite for Spitz, and Scratch & Double Kick for Queeny” I said making notes. “You want them to learn two new moves each?” Jenny asked confused. “Yeah, I think those two additional moves make sense growth wise and coverage wise. You want to make sure your Pokémon can fight different opponents without feeling limited. Bite and Howl will help Spitz be able to damage Pokémon who normally would resist most of his moves. The Dark Energy can help him face Rock Pokémon even. Queeny is eventually going to be a Ground type, but right now Rock would be difficult for her to beat. Double Kick enables her to beat Normal Type Pokémon, and Rock Type Pokémon” I explained to Jenny. “Well, what can we do to start today?” Jenny asked. “Today, let’s just do a basic workout. Some running, jumping, and using their moves against other Pokémon to practice” I said while calling over all the Pokémon. “Okay guys and gals, basic training today and then some practice sparring. Po and Rapunzel, can you show the new Pokémon what to do?” I asked my friends. “Lick” Tang” they responded and showed the other Pokémon where to run, and when to do jumps and sprints. “Now we can either do a light workout as well, or practice strategy and knowledge” I said to Jenny. “Let’s go over some strategy and knowledge for now” Jenny said looking a little more determined.
