XXIV: RESURGENCE

  He knows the truth.

  That THRACKER knows the truth!

Urgh… Thrack you, Lero! Thrack you the thracking Outer-World, you traitorous piece of raxx!

With Magnus knowing the truth about everything that makes him more than an enemy of MY Empire.

  Tis makes him a threat.

A threat to me… TO ME! ALIXANDR CORVINUX VOLTAIR!!!

  Urgh… Lero was right.

Though I wish to believe that he was not, my gut tells me that he was right.

  Magnus will come for me.

Sooner… Later… It does not make any thracking difference.

  Magnus will come.

I know that he shall and when he does, I will MERCILESSLY set his former allies upon him, the other nine Galactic Deciders.

  Braako leads them now.

He is a grand leader… But not as ‘grand’ as Magnus was.

Where Magnus held unity, order, and control within the group Braako shows none of those oh so valued and highly regarded traits.

Half of the Deciders follow Braako’s every word whilst the other half does not.

Most notably Anora… Who has a sense of ‘detachment’ from the others.

The closest to Magnus, Anora was… VERY CLOSE.

Tis why I instructed her… And ONLY HER to extinguish Magnus’s life-force when she, and the rest of the Galactic Deciders, find him… And they WILL find him.

They must because if they do not then Magnus will find them.

Magnus will find me and IF that occurs then he shall finally discover the truth.

  The REAL truth.

  The real truth about…

“My Emperor,” Barreth ushered upon entering Emperor Voltair’s Private Chamber uninvited and unannounced… AGAIN.

Sitting in a golden chair behind his golden office desk, the emperor opened his eyes, breaking away from his inner meditation/self-reflection cycle.

“Barreth?” Emperor Voltair said in a confused tone. “What brings you here? I did not ‘call’ for you.”

The author's content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

“No, my Emperor… You did not. I come here on my own behalf to bring you information… VITAL INFORMATION.”

“Vital information??? What do you have for me?”

“Tis the Oath-Breaker, Your Highness. His location… His TRUE location has finally been discovered.”

  “REALLY???” Voltair stammered in shock.

“Yes, my Lord… REALLY,” Barreth nodded. “Tis seems that not too long ago, in a Commoner’s Market on the planet Rannuk… At the furthest the edge of the Galactic Sector, a rather ‘disheveled looking drifter’ displayed a set of certain ‘abilities’... EXTRAORDINARY ABILITIES. With these ‘extraordinary abilities’, the drifter managed to utterly decimate a band of four Thundrukii Mercenaries.”

“Where have you received this information, Barreth? Who is your source???”

“Grand Emperor, we have ‘eyes’ stationed upon EVERY SINGLE PLANET that lies across the galaxy… And even ‘some’ that lie beyond it. You know this to be true.”

“A NAME, BARRETH! I WANT A THRACKING NAME!!!”

“Very well, Your Grace… Jaxer Ajun.”

  “Jaxer Ajun?”

“He is a Rannukan… One who is a loyal subject to the Voltairan Empire.”

Bringing up his Holo-Pad from within his hooded cloak, Barreth said, “If all of what I have just told you is not enough… THEN HERE. I shall hand over my Personal Holo-Pad so you can see the Holo-Message that Master Ajun sent me mere minute-cycles after the Oath-Breaker’s resurgence.”

“He managed to record a holo?” Voltair asked curiously.

“Yes, my Emperor. After the Oath-Breaker killed who I can only assume was the Thundrukii Mercenary Band’s Leader, Master Ajun managed to record a holo of him ‘breaking’ the remaining three before fleeing from the gruesome scene.”

After Barreth had handed over his Personal Holo-Pad to the Emperor, Voltair tapped its screen to reveal the holo that had been sent ‘minute-cycles ago’ from the Voltairan Loyalist Jaxer Ajun.

Playing the holo, Voltair watched as a holo-recording of Magnus, along with the three remaining Thundrukii Mercenaries, projected from the Holo-Pad’s Screen.

Emperor Voltair and Barreth both then watched in silence as the holo of Magnus ‘splattered’ the three Thundrukii Mercs with his still VERY powerful telekinetic abilities before flying off into the Rannukan Skyways.

“My Lord,” Barreth started once the holo had ended. “Now that you have seen proof of the Oath-Breaker’s survival… WHAT SHALL BE OUR ‘NEXT’ MOVE???”

“Place me on a holo-call with the Galactic Deciders,” Emperor Voltair sternly. “AT ONCE, BARRETH.”

“As you wish, my Master,” Barreth nodded.

Lowering his brow furiously, Emperor Voltair stated, “For over a cycle now, we have been searching every thracking square-inch of this MASSIVE galactic sector in search of that traitorous piece of raxx… And now we have FINALLY found him.”

Gritting his teeth whilst flaring his nostrils, Emperor Voltair fumed, “We shall make him pay for his crimes, Barreth. His crimes against my planet, my people, my empire, and of course… MYSELF!”
