Let’s just keep a few things in mind alright ?

  One, it’s a ninja village, so expect constant vigilance.

  Two, Hyuugas exist, with their eyes they can and DO see basically everything that happens in Konoha.

  Now, with only these two points, the whole ‘Only Danzo’ is responsible for the genocide goes down the drain, the rest of the village would know how that shit did go down, even if they were too slow to stop it.

  Point Three, Itachi was a teen … I don’t care how much you glaze him, he was a TEEN.

  There is no way in HELL he would be able to kill EVERYONE in his clan and not a single person be able to scream or flee for help or something … ‘But Obito Helped’ … Yeah, sure, did Obito turn off every Byakugan in the village at once ? …

  And I’m not even touching on the Izanagi business, if Danzo knew how to do that shit, and if DANZO knew, so did the Uchiha elders and probably Itachi’s father, their deaths wouldn’t be clean AT ALL …

  Let’s just back up a little.

  The motives for the massacre are iffy at best.

  For one, the Uchiha planning a coup is, at best … very stupid.

  The Uchiha are not the only clan in Konoha. Their ‘coup’ would at best end with them being stomped back into the ground by the rest of Konoha.

  But even assuming that the Uchiha were powerful enough to cause a civil war and destroy Konoha (remember that the nine tails attack didn’t do it, and the sand invasion with orochimaru also didn’t do it, the Uchiha got killed of in a few minutes of a single night) … You are telling me that the coup was an ‘Uchiha surprise’ ?

  There were no political talks ? No alliances ? The Uchiha coup was only them and no one else was backing them up ? The other clans had no stakes in that, the Uchiha didn’t look for allies, they were going to do their coup, kill everyone that stood in their way and then rein Konoha with an iron fist ? What about the Daimio that Konoha had to serve ? How would they react to the not approved change in leadership ? … The Hokage seat, as was alluded to, is a choice made by the retiring Hokage with pending approval of the Daimio and a lot of the high ranking Jounins of Konoha so … The Uchiha didn’t do any of that ? … Right …

  Keeping this in mind, the Uchiha coup couldn't ever be a ‘surprise’, there is a need for escalation there.

  The Uchiha were most likely pressing for extra concessions and all that shit that probably every Clan does.

  The Uchiha probably had backers, both outside of Konoha (Daimios and shit) and inside Konoha (Other clans) … Their coup could only cause a civil war if Konoha was actually divided in that shit … And the Hiruzen that was portrayed to us, would TAKE THE FUCKING OUT to let the Uchiha get the Hokage seat if they presented a worthy candidate.

  And there WAS worthy candidates, Shisui was RIGHT THERE … Famous, powerful, liked … Just what on earth is the excuse to NOT make him the next Hokage ? There is LITERALLY no one else in Konoha that fit the bill and Hiruzen had already RETIRED, he only took back the mantle because he was still the best option …

  So the whole ‘Uchiha Coup’ can’t be a surprise for ANYONE, not only a surprise, if anything, the Uchiha pressing for a Hokage of theirs (with Shisui there hard and ready) is only natural …

  Now, with all that in mind, we have to talk about Danzo and his business …

  Just … What gives ? … Like, at all, what is ROOT even doing ? No, scratch that, how is Root even funded ? …

  The whole point of ROOT is to be secret as fuck, doing missions that are considered unsavory and all that shit … But let’s remember that Missions are requested by people NOT FROM KONOHA … The whole ninja business is all about doing services for outsiders and bringing in new money.

  ROOT whole operations are said to be ‘super’ secret and the missions performed in the benefit of Konoha … so there is no outside funding for that shit, Konoha is funding then as is … Alright … now, if Konoha is funding then, Konoha is aware of what they do and agree with that shit, this is a ninja village with Hyuuga and Yamanaka in there, they can and WILL make background checks.

  So ROOT whole secret bulshit … just can’t be … and an even more ‘weird’ and stupid thing about it is … Why even have it ?

  Regular ass ANBU can carry out those secret missions, shit, they probably do anyway … “But their connection with the village” … what connection ? The ANBU are already a secret organization, ninjas can use masks, they can also Henge, they can use NORMAL disguises … just … How would anyone connect any ANBU ninja back to Konoha any easier than the ROOT ? … The whole organization doesn't need to exist and if it does exist, it exists with the full knowledge of Konoha higher ups.

  Now let’s go back to Itachi and the Prodigy business …

  Just … I can’t, I just can’t with this bulshit, how on earth was anything Itachi did smart ?

  Sure, you can excuse almost anything with him being a TEEN in a stupidly high stress situation, and just going psycho when the stakes were down … But that’s not how it was portrayed.

  This shit was portrayed as a deliberate choice from Itachi, sure, he was ordered by Danzo or tricked into thinking the Hokage gave the order … Like … Sure … And you didn’t confirm it ? … You didn’t try to appeal for the Hokage or other Clans that the GENOCIDE of a clan was wrong ?

  Let me be clear, the Uchiha are NOT the only clans in Konoha, they being genocided sends a pretty heavy message for all other Clans that would not be well appreciated …

  Itachi being portrayed as this precocious mature genius that made the best play out of a bad hand it’s just NONSENSE …

  And the absolute zero repercussions about the Uchiha massacre ? … Yeah, that’s just not happening, same thing with the Hyuuga and that Hinata business that got Neji’s father killed … Like … The Uchiha massacre makes as much sense as that one.

  So … Honestly, I just can’t find a way to make the massacre remotely realistic, especially in the setting I made with Konoha being an ACTUAL business and Clans being able to just leave for greener pastures. (Like normal Naruto already does, but I’m more direct about it, Orochimaru got a whole ass country for him if you remember)

  I can only put in the ‘Tension’ rising with the Uchiha pressing an aging Hiruzen to start choosing a new successor already, preferably an UCHIHA one, as they are OWED by being founders of Konoha and all that.

  The ‘Massacre’ just … CAN’T happen, it just CAN’T, especially not the WHOLE ASS CLAN … Some pointed assassinations ? Sure, killing off women and children with a bloodline as glazed as the Sharingan ? … Yeah, not happening …

  I guess I’m deviating a bit heavily from Cannon right about now …
