Chapter 81

  Chapter 81

  "Where have you been Colonel?"

The Charter of the Lantean Commonwealth had now been signed and Earth was now an official member of the bold new alliance.

"Oh, Anne Hathaway was just showing me to the restroom, General,"said Col. O'Neill.

Not too long after the conclusion of the meeting, Amos Fyree, founder of the Lantean Commonwealth and future member of SG-1, made his way to the Earth delegation table situated in the middle of Alfheim's southern pier.

"Hello, everyone, did you all enjoy the meeting?"said Amos as he arrived at the Earth delegation's table.

"We sure did, by the way, the steak was fantastic!"said Col. O'Neill.

Amos smiled then continued, "I'm glad you liked it."

Daniel, let go of Sha're for a brief moment and looked up at Amos, "Thank you so much for bringing Sha're back to me.

"No problem, Dr. Jackson. It's the least that I could do,"said Amos.

"I still can't believe that you're really from Earth; and my Protege to say the least," Dr. Jackson responded.

"Yeah, I'm from Chicago, born and raised. I actually went to Yale for my undergrad and got my graduate degree from the University of Chicago. Dr. Gardner was actually one of my Professors. She's the one who introduced me to you and the Stargate Program in the first place,"

"That's right, he's one of my best students,"said Sarah sitting sheepishly beside Daniel and Sha're.

Amos looked over at the rest of the Earth delegation and said,"If you all don't mind, I think we have a lot to discuss, in private."

General Hammond and the President looked at each other, then back at Amos and said in unison, "Yes, son, I think it's about time we had a little talk."

The large group including Sha're, Sarah as well as General Jacob Carter, who was standing near Sam at the time, got up from their seats and made their way down the southern pier of Alfheim's city ship towards the transporter room.

As they made their way to the city's transporter room, Major Samantha Carter and Dr. Rodney Mckay couldn't help but look up at the mesmerizing lights of Alfheim's first city.

"This city is breathtaking. Absolutely breathtaking. You said it's a ship as well?" wondered Dr. Rodney Mckay.

Amos looked back and said, "Yes, the Ancients built massive city ships such as these to project power throughout the galaxies they inhabited. This ship can fly farther and faster than anything the Goa'uld currently has in their arsenal. Currently Lantean City Ships like this cover the three galaxies of the Commonwealth like the Stars on the American Flag."

"Still, the power requirements for a city like this must be — astronomical,"said Major Carter as she too took in Alfheim's wondrous skyline.

Amos laughed, "Yeah, it costs a lot to keep the lights on around here, fortunately the ancients used Zero Point Energy to take care of all the bills, so we don't have to worry that much about getting our power shut off."

The group chuckled and continued to walk towards the pier's main transporter room.

"So where are we going now, son?"said President Liam Neeson.

Amos turned around to look at the President, smiled, then said, "Computer: Home."

With a flash, the large Earth delegation was transported to yet another room, this one a little bit larger than the last and decorated with various plants and flowers.

Dr. McKay walked up beside Amos and said, "I can't believe we're on Mars though, I didn't even see a shield covering the city. Just red — open — space?".

Dr. McKay stopped talking as the doors to the transport room opened up.

"A - Maz- ing."said Dr. Mckay as he and the others took in the glorious splendor that was Alfheim.

"Are we still on Mars?"asked General George Hammond. "This place looks like Southern California."

Amos turned to General Hammond and said, "Haha, we are still on Mars. We're about 15 miles underneath Olympus Mons."

Before them was a sprawling city with radiant blue skies, white nimbus clouds, and green shrubbery one might find in any California city.

"There's no way we're still on Mars, there's no way!"said Dr. Daniel Jackson.

"Oh yes it is my Danyel,"reassured Sha're clinching him tight.

"Watch out!"said Amos, as a large floating orb carrying four elves passed in front of them.

"We sure don't have that in the states," said Major Paul Davis.

  "We sure do not,"said Teal'c.

The group then walked across the street passing a slew of small ivory and hazel colored buildings and large coconut filled palm trees until they came to the edge of a large cliff. Perched on that cliff was a massive five story glass mansion with two Puddle Jumpers out in front of its circular driveway and a large golden fountain in its center.

As the Earth delegation made its way to the large brown doors, a beautiful, bald, dark skinned woman opened the door to the large mansion.

"Welcome home, your majesty,"said the beautiful black woman opening the door.

"Thank you, Ayo,"said Amos Fyree as he and the Earth delegation walked inside his beautiful abode.

Col. O'Neill turned to look at the beautiful black woman who was wearing a gold sun spoked necklace and tight form fitting dress.

"You got your own Dora Milaje?"asked Col. O'Neill.

"I didn't know you were a Black Panther fan,"said Daniel, still holding on to Sha're.

O'Neill, after gawking up and down the perfect body of the elven hostess, looked at Daniel and said:

  "I am now."

The group made their way inside of the living room section of Amos Fyree's home, noticing the sleek modern architecture and distinctly Lantean designed furniture spread neatly around the premises. Situated between the decorative kitchen and beige colored sofas was an infinity pool; half inside and half outside of the five story mansion. The pool started in between the sofas and stretched outside where several lawn chairs, a grill, and a small cabana was set up. In between the pool and the sofas was a large circular fireplace in the shape of a bonfire; there it hovered like a burning island in the midst of a gentle pond.

As Earth's leadership took in the pristine view of Alfheim through the transparent glass windows of the Amos abode, they noticed out in the distance more of the enchanting world that lay before them.

"Look, two Suns," said the Secretary of Defense.

"Is that an Ocean?" asked one of the Joint Chiefs.

"What is that in the distance?" said President Liam Neeson. "It looks like an Island — no, another country, perhaps?"

Amos looked out the window and said,"That is Anaheim, also known as Commonwealth City. We are still in the building phase, but within a month or so this entire level of Olympus Mons will be teaming with life. We are using Alfheim as a research, tourist, and business hub for member worlds of the Commonwealth. My elves have been busy turning this place into its namesake: The land of light. When it's done it should be roughly the size of France or Poland and boast several cities, islands, and can hold millions of people."

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Major Carter turned to him, with a hint of excitement on her face, and said, "How the hell did you manage to pull this off, this is an architectural miracle. Your technology must be 3,000 years, no 5,000 years, more advanced than ours on Earth."

"10,000 years more advanced,"corrected Amos Fyree. "...And yes, it was a miracle. You forget, my elves are descendents of the Replicators Major Carter. Each of them has a posetronic mind, capable of using 45% of human mental capabilities. That, plus the technology at their disposal, makes them very capable."

Major Carter continued, "How did you manage to make the artificial sky and the two suns?".

"Oh, you mean Illuin and Ormal?" said Amos with a hint of arrogant pride in his voice. "My elves went to a world you visit in the future designated P3X-289. There they made contact with a technologically advanced civilization that lived on a barren world. In order to survive, the world's inhabitants constructed a semipermeable dome with a holographic interior. In exchange for helping them restore their planet, and joining the Commonwealth, they gave my elves the technology to create the dome here on Alfheim. That is why you see two suns and a crystal blue sky."

Amos then motioned his hands towards the long line of beige colored sofas and lantean seats and urged his guests to sit down.

"Would any of you like to have a drink?" he offered, gesturing towards Major Davis and the guests from the Pentagon.

Major Davis looked at his superiors and said, "No, it's —"

"Scotch… bourbon," blurted Col. O'Neill, preventing Major Davis from finishing his sentence.

"Colonel!" said Hammond, his voice filled with disbelief.

  "It's fine,"reassured Amos.

Amos then outstretched his hand producing a small glass of bourbon out of thin air and gave it to Col. O'Neill.

"I prefer Fireball Whiskey myself," said Amos, then printed a small glass of the gold tinged crimson elixir and gulped it in a single shot.

Major Carter smiled and said, "Ok, how did you do that."

"I haven't seen anything like that since I saw David Copperfield in Vegas," said a perplexed Mckay.

Amos sat down in an empty beige sofa across from the Earth delegation, crossed his legs and said, "Wrist matter converters…" He then extended his hand and showed the technologically advanced bracelet dangling on his wrist.

"With this small piece of technology, I am able to simply think about what I want and the small bracelet can print anything I need,"said Amos.

Major Carter stared at the device, noticing its intelligent design.

  "Wow, that is so –"

"Cut the shit," blurted General Jacob Carter, cutting his daughter off.

  "Jacob!" yelled General George Hammond.

The entirety of Earth's delegation, including Sarah and Sha're turned to look at General Carter.

"George, there is no way he can get this type of technology, even if he comes from 15 years in the future,"said General Carter.

Amos smiled, leaned back in his sofa, printed another round of FIreball Whiskey and said:

  "He's right."

A look of shock fell over the Earth delegation as Amos said these words.

"The reason why I have all of this technology is because I downloaded the knowledge of the Ancients."

"You did what!" blurted Col. O'Neill.

"But that thing kills people,"said Dr. Jackson.

"It almost killed Col. O'Neill,"said Teal'c.

Amos continued to smile, took a sip of his Fireball Whiskey and said, "It almost kills Col. O'Neill twice and Dr. Jackson once if my memory of the future serves me well."

"Are any of you all familiar with Devlin Medical Technologies?"asked Amos.

Major Davis looked at the Earth delegation then back at Amos and said, "They're a large tech company that does contract work with the Pentagon."

Amos nodded his head and continued, "In my time, they do contract work with Area 51 and Stargate Command. About a decade from now they develop nanites using Lantean technology we get from Atlantis in the Pegasus Galaxy. All SGC personnel now use medical nanites on the field. The Asgard repurposed my nanites to not only heal but store data as well. This technological leap allowed me to look into the wisdom of the ages and live."

"Oh my God, are those like the Orbanian nanites Kalan was telling me about,"asked Major Carter.

"The Orbanian nanites are the second generation, I have the prototype. This technology has allowed many of us in the Commonwealth to look into the Ancient Repository and live. As a matter of fact, both Dr. Gardner and Sha're have taken the medical nanites and also have the knowledge of the Ancients inside of them. They have even begun to manifest their powers."

Sarah stretched out her hand towards a small flower in a vase, picked it up with her mind, and brought it over to her nose.

The Earth delegation was once again dumbfounded by the display of power from Amos and his friends and was left awestruck at the potential power Amos and his growing coalition could have.

"That's Amazing, young man,"said President Liam Neeson.

"I'm not totally convinced that's a good idea in the long term," said General Jacob Carter.

Major Carter then turned to her father and said, "Dad, do you have any idea what something like this could mean? In the few days Col. O'Neill had the knowledge of the Ancients downloaded inside of his mind; he was able to create a new powersource, add at least a hundred new gate addresses to the SGC's dialing computer, and he made first contact with the Asgard. Imagine what good he could have done if he kept all that information inside of him."

"You're right, Major Carter,"said General Hammond.

General Carter's eyes flashed white revealing Selmak. "That still doesn't answer how you came to be in this time in the first place,"said the oldest of the Tok'ra.

Amos shook his head, yet again and said, "We were on one of our vessels, the USAF vessel George Hammond. General Samantha Carter was installing a new hyperdrive engine left to us by the Asgard. We were trying to make it to an Ancient research vessel we commandeered called Destiny. It's passengers and crew were trapped on the other side of the Universe. When the Asgard go extinct they leave us all of their knowledge and technology and we were using that technology to bring our people home. Long story short, the hyperdrive General Carter was installing went critical and she had no choice but to abandon ship. Dr. Jackson and I, who was also on board, were the last ones on the ship. We were in the Hammond's lab studying an Ancient Lantean device left behind by the Asgard. When the ship began to fall apart, Dr. Jackson made me evacuate. I went to the beam out site, while Dr. Jackson stayed behind to help General Carter with the Hyperdrive. I make it down to the planet, Ancient device in tow, then the ship explodes, killing General Carter and Dr. Jackson in the process."

A look of sorrow fell over Daniel and Major Carter's faces.

Amos continued, "Per SGC protocol I make it to the nearest Stargate and try to dial Earth. I dial the Gate. Get a lock. I Input my IDC code in my GDO, receive an Access Granted, then step through the gate. Then the device I was carrying begins to glow. I think nothing of it and continue marching through the Gate. Instead of arriving back at Stargate Command however–".

"You arrived on O'Thalla 15 years in the past," finished Col. Jack O'Neill.

"Precisely," confirmed Amos, as he finished off another round of Fireball Whiskey.

Major Davis leaned forward and said, "Wow… you've been through a lot."

  "Indeed, I have," said Amos.

Major Davis then clasped his hands and looked at Amos and said, "Mr. Fyree, SG-1 told us that you are in possession of Tollan Ion Cannons, as well as ships and weapons that we can use to defend the planet Earth. We were hoping –"

"No, we are begging," said President Neeson, cutting Major Davis off. "If you can provide us with some of the ships and weapons that you used during the Battle over Tollana."

Amos then printed a cuban cigar, and lit it with the tip of his finger.

  "Sure."

SG-1, General Hammond, the brass from the Pentagon, as well as the President of the United States, blew a sigh of relief.

"Why do you think I set up on Mars?"said Amos. "Currently, I have a fleet of Asgard vessels, Lantean warships of varying classes and size, as well as a fleet of Hebridean and Eurondan vessels under my control,"said Amos. "I also have Tollan Ion Cannons, an Ancient Satellite Weapon, as well as Lantean Beam Cannons you saw over Tollana at my disposal."

Amos took a long puff of the Cuban then said,"However, that's not what you really need."

Major Davis looked at the President and Joint Chiefs and said, "It's not?"

Amos cleared his voice and said, "How far are you all from finishing the completion of the X302 and X303 prototypes?"

Major Carter chuckled, so did Major Davis as well as Dr. Rodney McKay.

"The X302 is about a year away, the X303 a little more than two,"said Dr. McKay.

"In the future, we still use the F302 Fighter interceptors. It proved formidable against Goa'uld death gliders as well as against the Wraith and Ori fighters. However, we no longer use the BC 303. We've moved on to the BC 304 — Daedalus class."

Major Davis gasped with disbelief, "That's not even in the development stage."

Amos took another puff from his cuban and said, "I wasn't lying when I said that Earth has the strongest fleet in three galaxies even though that's due primarily to the Asgard. I'll tell you what. There's someone I want to introduce to you. They will help you complete your vessels and start Earth out strong."

Suddenly, riding on a beam of iridescent light was a red haired elven duplicate of Samantha Carter wearing formal U.S. military dress.

"General Amanda Carter reporting for duty, sir!" said the elf.

"Holy Shit, he made his own Carter!" shouted Col. O'Neill.

"I used to have a sister named Amanda,"said Major Carter

"I know. You told me,"said Amos.

Amos laughed and said, "When we were on Tollana I secretly had Freya run scans on your face and neural net in order to create Amanda. Like the other Elves, she commands over 45% of her mental capabilities and also comes preloaded with both the Lantean and Asgard databases. With her, and a team of Elves, we should have the X302 and X303 completed within six months."

"Six Months!" blurted the entire delegation in unison.

  "That's right, six months,"reaffirmed Amos.

"Now these won't be your daddy's Battle Cruisers, no, they will be jam packed with the latest Commonwealth technologies,"said Amos.

"Is she a sex bot too?"said Dr. McKay.

  "Rodney!"said Major Carter.

  "Nevermind," he whimpered.

After the conclusion of their private meeting, The Earth delegation as well as Amos Fyree stood up and headed to the door.

"Son, I know you're not from this time, but you've done your country and your planet proud,"said President Liam Neeson as he shook Amos Fyree's hand one more time.

"You're right, Amos completed Stargate Command's Standing Mission by his Goddamn Self,"said Col. O'Neill. "I believe he's up for employee of the year, don't you think, General."

General Hammond rolled his eyes and shook his head at Col. O'Neill's joke as they made their way to the front entrance.

"Oh! I almost forgot!" Amos exclaimed.

Amos disintegrated his cigar, then clasped both hands together producing a large golden crystal.

"Wow, what is that?"wondered Major Carter.

"It's a Zero Point Module. It's the Ancient's primary power source. I wanted you to have one to study since you were enamoured by Alfheim's power supply. Don't worry we have an infinite supply."

Amos placed the ZPM in Major Carter's hand as she was mesmerized by the ornate device.

Amos clasped his hands again producing a long cylinder shaped Hour Glass. He then handed it to Dr. McKay.

"This is the device I used to get here. I completed the translations, now I need to figure out how it works. I'm pretty busy so maybe you and the boys at Area 51 can play with it and figure it out,"said Amos.

  "Uh, sure…"said Dr. McKay. "Thanks."

Amos clasped his hands together one more time, this time producing a black laptop with an apple insignia on it.

  "My Laptop,"said Dr. Jackson.

O'Neill turned to him with a confused look and said, "You still use the same computer 15 years in the future?"

"Everyone knows Macs don't Crack Jack,"said Dr. Jackson cutting himself off.

"Yeah, but still Daniel 15 years, come on now," said O'Neill.

Amos shook his head, smiled, and said, "This laptop is the most important thing I have given you. On it you will find SGC mission reports from Stargate Command as well as our off world base on Atlantis and the starship Destiny. You will also find a list of gate addresses and the location of worlds that can help you in case something goes awry down at Cheyenne Mountain."

Ayo opened the door to the Fyree abode and the Earth Delegation walked outside.

"I'll be in touch in a few days and we can begin offloading some of the technology we talked about. Also, feel free to send as many SGC personnel to Alfheim as you'd like. My Elves are lonely and they need men to keep them company."

  "Really?"said Dr. McKay.

The Earth Delegation looked at Dr. McKay in disgust and then walked out the door.

"Yeah, Dr. McKay, I actually got the idea of making the Elves from you,"said Amos.

"Really? Why of course you did,"snickered McKay.

Dr. Mckay then patted Amos on the back and said:

"What a brilliant man. What a brilliant man indeed."
