The arena waiting room.
At a corner;
"She really went ahead and did it for real. This is just too much." Lady cat meowed.
Raftelia Squeaked: "Does she know about the riot or she herself is up to something."
"The plan has not changed we just need to modify it a little bit." Skylar chimed in.
"What if she knows all our plans." Raftelia inferred.
"We will find out when will reach the arena." Skylar replied.
Lady cat meowed: "Hey, my mate, how did you do it? How did you get rid of them? The wolf pups."
"Hmm, the wolfs." Skylar began with a smile. "It was very easy, I just threw a bait. They took it and enter into the trap on their own two feet."
"Sky, what bait did you throw?" Squeaking, Raftelia asked.
"Let's say you love vegetables," Skylar explained. "You have been eating vegetables daily all your life; you can't go a day without vegetables, and only the best of vegetables can satisfy you. But one day. Just one random day, two random friends walk past you and you were lucky to hear one tell the other about a certain vegetable—the best ever, superior to the best you have ever eaten in your life—and he also said it grows on a certain mountain he described in detail to the other. What bait do you think that is when you hear that story?"
"I will definitely go and check if its real as long as its not dangerous." Raftelia replied with a squek.
Meow.
Lady cat meowed: "Even if its dangerous, there are crazies that will still go regardless."
Skylar nodded.
Yes, that's true, most people will go and ignore the danger even if its stated and obvious as long as there is a hint of what they live for and desire amidst that danger... just like I am doing now... Its basic instinct.
...
"We should go, they have rolled up the screen." Lady cat meowed.
In a colossal hall of dimension in kilometers containing hundreds of thousand of creatures of different forms, sizes, presence and other defining characteristics. Five creatures with one holding one of them to his bosom walk leisurely behind a group of creatures running out of the hall to a bounded zone in front of the hall with haste and urgency.
"My mate are you sure the wolf are not going to return anytime soon?"
Lady cat resting on Skylar folded arms questioned him as their group chose a spot just a few kilometers away from the boundary line bordering a rocky region of the arena in a bid to wait for the starting signal of a special edition of the arena battle. By including a lot of big wigs and increasing the total number of participants by at least ten times, the green serpent in charge has made it special.
"Pretty sis, what specie class is that white creature about seven times Mr rabbit size that look like me?... crouching over there."
Skylar sitting on a stone platform alongside his comrades questioned with his eyes trained on a very beautiful humanoid creature that has two pairs of horns and a skin glittering like crystal that is playing with a plant-like insect the size of a cow quiet far from them.
"Its one of the strongest creature around and it rarely kills." Lady cat meowed, informing Skylar who is petting her fur as she nestle on his laps. "But there are random times it decides to play 'fatten the stupid lamb'." She added.
Squeak, Raftelia Squeaked: "Its one of the few ruling species and its also a very rare specie. He is a native of..."
Thinking about it now, this wolfs are really crazy... they just kidnap any creature they find interesting from anywhere... They definitely should have offended a more powerful creature or a group. Or is there something else they rely on like that serpent?..
"What's a ruling specie?" Skylar questioned after setting his thoughts aside.
"Look at it this way," Raftelia squeaked. "All ruling species are dominant specie of a specific place, and at the same time they are special specie; being special is what made them rulers."
Raftelia paused. She glanced at Skylar's face which read 'more' before she continued.
"A dominant specie is capable of not just surviving in a specific place, they have the capability and can contest for rulership in that specific place. And for special species like the Felis Yanuris; they are creatures that has a particular distinct trait that gives them an edge over most other species of their level..."
"Wait, what about rare species?" Skylar interrupted. Also, the big guy listening at the side agreed with Skylar's inquiry with a nod.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Raftelia squeaked: "Rare species and common specie are dual terms used to describe how easily a specie can replicate itself, its reproductive power. Take for example; the mountain gecko females only lay at most three eggs their entire life and they rarely produce female offsprings—about one female from hundred eggs—and coupled with their female picky nature for mating partner, with some even never mating till they die... they hardly increase in number, there are few of them scattered around... so compared to a bombon, a common creature that reproduce by replicating itself anytime and effortlessly by releasing light sparks that turn to into smaller ones of their kind, they are regarded as a rare specie. Its a relative term though."
Raftelia concluding her narration grabbed a glowing insect the shape of a bird, a bombom from a large group flocking aimlessly.
Squeaking, she continued: "There is also this class of specie, the unique species. They are one of a kind creature. They can be very weak or very strong, their are even some that are far superior to the ruling species..."
"That little guy is definitely a unique specie, and this great me can bet its one vastly superior to a ruling specie."
Lady cat added, interrupting Raftelia lecture in Skylar's mind.
What lady cat said its likely true... I've had this feeling this little guy is hiding a lot... it can leave here at anytime... and that strange ability to vanish at will without leaving any trace or presence...
"Sky, it has begin."
Skylar heard Raftelia squeaking after he felt Mr Rabbit poke that interrupted his thinking.
"Okay, let's go." He instructed.
Holding lady cat in his arms, he stood up like the others—Raftelia and Mr Rabbit—from the top of the now vacant platform which sank into the earth slowly like it has finished with its job.
"Mr Rabbit, can you please go and check the preparations?" He instructed before he led everyone excluding Mr Rabbit, into the rocky region of the arena, their figures following behind the droves of creatures running ahead with different goals in mind.
***
About an hour after the start of the arena battle.
"Is the riot not happening? Sky." Raftelia Squeaked. She is sitting diagonally behind Skylar on a giant pebble comparable in size to mount augustus but a lot narrower and is bathed by a cool golden rays of light coming from the foggy golden cloud above, looking like a golden setting sun. On her face as she questioned is worry illuminated by the reflected golden light from the enormous crystalline rock.
"Mr Rabbit, was anything in the tunnels tampered with?"
Skylar sitting on the sharp edge of the rock ignored Raftelia inquiry. Instead, he questioned to which the big guy responded with a negative nod.
"Was there any sign someone entered it?"
He asked again, his eyes never living the sight far in front of him, and also in the previous manner the big guy responded with a negative nod.
"If that serpent really did something to the tunnels, there is no way your big friend will detect a thing."
Lady cat yawned. She adjusted her sleeping posture on Skylar's lap as she informed him
"What about the car...? Never mind... Its not that important (sigh)"
He dismissed, sighing deeply as a gentle wind caressed his face.
Having been watching the eventful scene below and above them: creatures killing another, creatures getting killed and creatures finding a hiding spot within the sea of giant rocks to save their life, Skylar got to his feet with lady cat nestled in his chest.
I am really leaving this place today... its funny though... I suffered at first, I killed a lot, I even made some friends... I will miss that serpent and her snakes... I hope those guys don't go overboard... maybe I should come back here to play when I can face that serpent as equals...
He smiled, admiring the golden clouds as he reminisced his experience in the ancient sanctum—now a lair for wolf brothers—managed by the green serpent.
"Let"s go." He whispered, instructing solemnly.
As the group gathered around him; the surface of the rock they stood on suddenly have on it a circular crack line around them that furrowed, descending slowly into the rock carrying him and the group along just like a lift descending while the cool golden rays of light wave them farewell.
After a while; they reach a large tunnel illuminated by sparkling and glowing gemstones and crystals like stars dotted on its wall and ceiling.
"Mr Rabbit, will you please bring the car?"
Skylar still carrying lady cat asked the big guy after which he settled his butt fitted with a dark gold pants on a platform that grew out from the tunnel's floor magically.
"Now that there is no riot, what's our probability of success?" Lady cat on Skylar's lap asked as she narrowed her eyes scanning the depth of the tunnel ahead.
I don't know. But I know one thing for sure; the serpent will definitely have a lot to do today... She might even come to hate me...
Skylar responded by making his thought known to her.
Pulling a glowing green crystal from the wall of the tunnel beside him, he resumed:
"Pretty sis, since there are three walls encircling the death arena, what's the third one... the outermost wall used floor?"
"The inner wall has the viewing platform," Raftelia, Pretty sis, replied, "and the middle wall is where all the creatures captured are held, the cells. So I think the first wall should house the serpent and the snakes."
As she concluded, a very large attractive contraption in the shape of a car approached them from afar.
I thought so too, but that won't change a thing...
Skylar nodded, agreeing with Raftelia. He stood up from the platform and he starts walking towards the very large makeshift car coming to a stop ahead with the others following behind him.
Reaching it; he and his group entered the robust car made from carved stones and crystal one after the other after which it was steered by Mr Rabbit who is already inside it, making it turn around and returned in the direction it came from, picking up speed gradually until it turn into a streak of light that disappeared into the distance of the tunnel.
...
After many hours in the car moving with a great speed in the seemingly endless tunnel;
"Mate, it should be more than half a day already. When are we going to exit this tunnel?" Lady cat sitting on Skylar's lap asked while she watched the incredible scene outside the speeding car through its screen made of transparent crystal that look like glass.
Very soon..
Skylar resting his back on the car seat wrapped with a glowing cushioning leaf made his thought known in response.
"Sky," Raftellia seating behind Skylar in the back seat called gently, "Mr rabbit said this is the last round for this tunnel."
She translated and relayed the words of the driver, Mr Rabbit to Skylar who responded with an affirmative nod after which the car took a long turn to a side and continued on its journey.
After about half of an hour;
"Creatures ahead, lots of em."
Lady cat informed Skylar after which she curled herself tightly on his lap with her large tail wrapping her body, looking like she is sleeping.
It really as I expected...
Skylar smirked.
"Mr Rabbit slow down." He instructed. Then he closed and bowed his head in thought.
Not long after, the car slowing down came into view in front of a large audience waiting in a chamber ahead, welcomed by a loud cheering sound like from a packed sport stadium coming from somewhere unknown before it stopped at the center of an extravagantly decorated podium in front of this large militant audience.
"Uncle, (Hiss) you might need a guide at this rate..."
Skylar chuckled at the annoying but seductive voice that appeared in his mind, bringing a close to his attempt to escape the confining lair of the wolf brother.
