Mack and the Knife: Chapter 64- Insane B*tch

  Construction Site- Vantage Building

Detective Mackey is barely awake as Angela, formerly known as Gabrielle, peels herself off of his lap. She backs a few feet away from his chair, a satisfied grin on her evil countenance. Buttoning up her blouse, Angela shakes out her loose hair and observes the incapacitated detective.

"You men. You cops. You like to pretend you have all this integrity. That you can't be bought. All of that outward bravado. But it's always just a show. All it usually takes...Is the right price. Or the right woman. You wanna know what we had on Melbourne? Eh, Mackey? Your girl was once one of us. She turned tricks for a guy named Mouser a few years ago. Ever heard of him, Jamie? I have. He pays me really well for my services. And I keep him happy. We keep each other happy. Well, you see. Francine had a real bad pregnancy scare and aborted the baby. Mouser's baby. He said...She stopped coming around for a while. When we needed someone on the inside; we went to dear Francine. Mouser even showed her the wonderful records from the abortion. Haha. Can you believe she went a whole two states away to have it done? Talk about paranoid, huh? Anyway, Francine wanted her squeaky clean boyfriend to remain in the dark about her soiled past. We had the woman scared. She did everything we wanted her to do. And more. We even got her to record that damn hostage call for us. Right before I politely asked her to step off the chair. A true patriot, that Melbourne. Haha. I'm sure gonna miss her."

Her point made, Angela takes two steps forward. She grips Detective Mackey's chin in a manicured hand and kisses his slack mouth. She uses her other hand to rub James' chest through his open shirt.

"I almost hate to do this to you, Detective. You're just so yummy. But revenge is so much yummier. Goodbye, James. It was nice knowing you."

Placing James' hand on her stomach, Angela-alias Gabrielle--inhales softly. She closes her eyes and slowly exhales. Backing away from the chair a second time, Angela reaches down to grab her tuxedo jacket. Retrieving another syringe, from the front pocket of her jacket, she holds it up to the dim light and thumps the side. Getting out all of the air bubbles, Angela sticks the syringe deep into Detective Mackey's left shoulder and injects him a second time.

Once every necessary drop is injected, the crazed woman unties the unconscious detective. Angela none too politely shoves James off of the chair and drags him into a far corner. She scoffs and adjusts her blouse; as she walks out of the abandoned storage room.

"Sweet dreams, Detective. I hope you'll dream of me."

Moments later, Angela drives off in her black mustang.

Ned has still not returned when Rachel tiptoes out of the front door for what she hopes is the last time. She glances down the dark hallway before quietly shutting the apartment door. The last thing Rachel needs is a nosy neighbor telling Ned they say her leaving with her stuff--and his van.

Gripped tightly in Rachel's left hand are the keys to Ned's Astro van. Whoever had called Ned earlier, had also whisked him away. The idiot had been in such a hurry that he'd left his spare keys on top of the entertainment center. Too bad for him. She'll leave the van somewhere after she drops her stuff off at Lenny's. She might even leave the raping bastard a really thoughtful note. If what she suspects is true, and Ned is into some really rough stuff, he won't be calling the cops to report the van stolen. She'll be fine.

The second man departs, taking Jamie with him. The first thug watches him go and then turns back to Madison. He grins cruelly down at her before removing his left hand from her right wrist. He lowers his hand to the tie on her robe.

"This is gonna be real nice," he whispers.

Madison uses her freed right hand to remove James' old ballpoint pen which is holding her unkempt bun in place. She grips the pen tightly, and draws it upward--stabbing the thug in his left ear.

Thug number two's eyes widen in shock and surprise. He releases Madison's other wrist. Words fail the creep, as he reaches up to claw at his damaged left ear and punctured eardrum. Madison takes advantage of her newfound freedom, punching the thug in the center of his face.

The agonized man doesn't know which injury to nurse, his left hand moving from his injured ear to his nose. Madison hits him again. She uses one fist to punch his face, while shoving him back with her other hand. Madison's fist grazes the thug's right temple and she pulls her left arm back for another punch.

By now, the thug has removed the pen from his ear, blood running down the left side of his face and onto his dark clothes.

"Ah...You bitch!" thug two angrily growls. "You busted my damn eardrum. You're gonna fugging pay for that."

Madison screams as the man reaches for her wrists again. A shrill yelp causes the man to turn slightly, his weight no longer fully on Madison's torso. Titus launches himself into the air, slamming into the punk and knocking him off center. The thug growls deep in his chest as Titus' teeth sink into his left cheek--just below his eye. Madison's assailant raises up some more as he wrestles with the aggravated corgi mutt attached to his face.

"Aw. Goddamn. They left the freaking dog alive? Damn. Get the fug off! Ahhh!"

Madison, never more grateful for Titus than she is in this moment, punches the thug over and over again. Finally, she settles for trying to push him off of her. She grins as the thug's curse words turn to screams of true pain. Titus is knocked away, but not before he tears a large chunk of the bastard's face off. Blood pours from the open wound in the man's cheek. The bottom part of the man's left eyelid is also gone. He is no longer a lookalike for her beloved James. The screaming thug now more closely resembles the Cryptkeeper.

James' criminal impersonator yowls in agony and drops onto his left side on the floor. Bright red blood, from his ruined cheek and eye, stains the beige carpet. Madison scrambles to her feet. She rushes to the spot where she saw the thug toss her firearm. Grabbing up the weapon, Madison calls Titus to her.

"Come here, Titus. Come here boy!"

Titus limps over to where Madison is standing, a solemn expression on his mutt face. Madison points her gun at the yowling thug's head, while stooping to rub Titus' back.

  "Good boy," Madison says.

Changing the aim of her weapon, Madison shoots the kidnapping thug in his left thigh. The punk's yowls grow even louder. He is experiencing more pain than he has ever felt in his entire life. Good. Madison grins sarcastically.

"That's so you don't follow us. After three gunshots...I'm certain the police are on their way. Have fun waiting for them, asshole. Come on, Titus. The other psycho is leaving with your baby brother. Let's go get Daddy's birthday present. We're gonna need it."
