Chapter 11: The loyal friends of destiny

  [Scene: Juan's house — Night]

  Juan (looking at his friends):

  "I can't believe everyone is here... after all this time."

  Valtherion (crossing his arms):

  "Did you doubt that we would return, my lord?"

  Juan (smiling):

  "I keep telling you not to call me that...

  Valtherion (with a firm voice):

  "It's my duty.

  Juan shook his head and looked at his other friends.

  Juan (looking at the reader):

  "I know you wonder who they are... and how I ended up surrounded by this strange group. Well... let's see it.

  [Flashback — First multiversal journey]

  In the middle of a medieval desert, surrounded by ruins and desolation, Juan appeared after activating the button that La Madre had given him.

  Juan (looking at the landscape):

  "Is this... real?"

  Doubts dissipated when he heard a desperate scream.

  Mother (in the distance):

  "Please, help us!"

  Juan ran until he found a woman hugging his son, surrounded by two huge red trolls armed with hammers.

  Juan (shouting):

  "HEY!" Why don't they mess with me!

  The trolls turned and went after him. In the midst of the chaos, a rock flew towards John. Instinctively, he raised his hands... and the rock stopped in the air.

  Juan (with a smile):

  "Oh... this is going to get good."

  With a mixture of confidence and power, Juan defeated the trolls. But at the end of the battle, his eyes turned to something that left him frozen:

  A knight, dressed in black armor with golden details, was lying next to a rock. His sword was stuck in the ground and his body was covered in wounds.

  "Hey!" Hey!

  The gentleman barely breathed. Juan tried to remove his helmet, but the warrior moved weakly, showing that he was still conscious.

  Juan (with despair):

  "You have to resist!"

  Remembering what the Mother had told him about his blood, Juan did a test on a plant... and it revived.

  Juan ( Whispering):

  "If this works...

  Juan approached the gentleman.

  Juan (with a firm tone):

  "If you want to live... give me your hand."

  The gentleman barely reacted.

  Juan (stronger):

  "You can't give up!" Look around you! All this sacrifice cannot be in vain!

  The gentleman slowly raised his head. His eyes... still shone with will.

  Juan cut his own hand and dropped a few drops of his blood on the gentleman's chest. The starlight began to envelop him.

  The knight stood up slowly, firm and powerful.

  Juan (smiling):

  "You're going to need a name... I'll call you... Valtherion."

  The next trip took Juan to a gloomy castle. Accompanied by Valtherion, they explored the place in search of something valuable.

  Juan (sighing):

  "There's nothing here... we'd better go."

  As they prepared to leave, a strange vibration shook the ground. A secret passage opened, revealing a capsule covered with a thousand keys.

  Juan (looking at the capsule):

  "What is this...?"

  Inside, there was a female figure enclosed.

  Juan (a Valtherion):

  "Break the glass!"

  Valtherion (raising his sword):

  "As you wish."

  With a single blow, Valtherion destroyed the capsule. From his inside emerged a pale young woman, with dark hair, blood-red eyes and sharp fangs.

  Juan (surprised):

  "Are you okay...?"

  The girl looked confused, and before Juan could react, she threw herself at him. In the struggle, Juan ended up receiving a slight scratch on the neck.

  The girl stopped, looking at him in terror.

  ??? (Desperate):

  "Why... why did you see me like that?!

  Juan (nervous):

  "It wasn't my intention, I swear!"

  Valtherion intervened, calming the situation. After explaining what happened, the girl finally introduced herself:

  Charlotte (in a low voice):

  "My name is... Charlotte Val d'Aubert."

  In a desolate village, Juan and his friends found a looted house. Two semi-human bodies lay on the ground... and, among the debris, a small creature trembled.

  It was a feline puppy, with pointed ears and a mottled tail.

  Juan (king next to her):

  "Don't worry... you'll be fine now."

  He took her with him, and or time, the puppy grew up... Elizabeth became a sword prodigy, fast and lethal like a guepard.

  [Flashback — Fourth multiversal journey]

  In a noisy canteen, Juan and his group met a troubled young man who seemed to enjoy getting into trouble.

  After a brief altercation, Juan noticed that the boy had unique abilities: incredible speed.

  John (intrigated):

  "Hey... why don't you use that for something better?"

  ??? (Laughing):

  "Because that way I have more fun."

  Juan (crossing his arms):

  "You have potential, how about using it to help?"

  The young man kept thinking... and finally accepted.

  ??? (Smiling):

  "I won't tell you my name... but you can call me Lightning. Because it's the last thing you'll see before it disappears, baby.

  [Return to the present]

  Juan (looking at the reader):

  "And so... those five became my most loyal friends."

  Suddenly, the atmosphere became tense.

  Valtherion (with deep tone):

  "Don't try to fool us, Juan." We know what happened...

  Charlotte (serious):

  "We're sorry."

  Juan (confused):

  "Feeing what?"

  Elizabeth (staring at him):

  "Don't lie to us." What we felt... was not normal.

  Lightning (leaning on the wall):

  "Yes, friend... we feel something enormous."

  Valtherion got up slowly, with his sword in his hand.

  Valtherion (with a firm voice):

  "What happened that day... was bigger than you think."

  Juan was silent. He knew that his friends were not exaggerating. What happened when he joined the Motherboards... had awakened something bigger.

  Destiny... was moving forward.
