[66] A Generally Fun Climax

With a final shriek of unravelling matter the white orb shot out the back of the shoulder of the boss's now ruined arm and sailed through the air, taking out two skeletons before falling through the floor, leaving a perfectly cut hole.

There was silence for a few moments before a comically delayed jet of blood shot out of the orbs exit wound. Instead of continuing towards him and Gary the man's eyes widened as he stopped and stared at the damage that had been done to his arm, quickly falling to his knees, his face a mask of agony as he began shrieking in pain and trying to block the flow of blood.

The sudden flip from a situation where he was about to get minced by a machine to something that honestly wouldn’t be that out of place in a cartoon set Bobby off and he began laughing at the sight, quickly followed suit by a Gary, still on the floor. Bobby laughed so hard that his shattered rib was aggravated and he found himself unable to breathe, but it was just too funny.

The man stared at them with the beginning of tears appearing at the corners of his eyes and angrily said something, which Bobby couldn’t hear due to his still damaged hearing.

“WHAT? I CAN’T HEAR YOU,” Bobby yelled back at the man.

“I SAID STOP LAUGHING,” The man roared back, tears appearing in his eyes.

“ARE YOU CRYING??” Bobby cackled, laughing even harder.

  “STOP!”

I’m gonna die from laughing too hard at this rate, I need to calm myself down.

Bobby tried taking some deep breaths, but they were futile as something in the mans still bleeding arm clicked and the whole of both colossal arms lit up with the telltale hue of red, green and blue that one would expect to see backlighting a gaming keyboard.

“IT’S RGB???” Gary exclaimed, sentencing the both of them to death via hysterics.

The terror that the cyborg had instilled in Bobby so far via his seeming indestructibility and determination to kill them all evaporated as he laughed harder than he had in a long time. Sometimes life was just too funny, the ridiculous chain of events that had led to him ending up in this situation were just too bizarre.

Bobby felt tears begin to stream down his face as the last of his stress about the situation left him, it felt good to laugh this hard, despite the whole not being able to breathe thing and all the pains that currently littered his body. Though none of them were truly that bad of a wound, they would all heal within a month most likely. Some small part of him realised he probably wasn’t getting enough oxygen to his head and decided to finally do something about it.

Which a great mental heave he pushed more magic from his core into his system that he had ever done before and he saw his body begin to glow faintly, with this the laughing finally subsided and after checking on Gary to make sure the man wasn’t going to die from laughing too much he approached the boss.

After stopping at a safe distance he watched the hulk of a man for a bit. The boss was in a sorry state compared to when he had first seen the man. One of his arms was completely wrecked and most of the skin that had once covered his cybernetic implants had been shredded exposing how much of his body had been mechanised.

It was not a pretty sight, the man had to have something like only half of his original body remaining. Additionally to the arms, the shoulders also were mechanised, and seemed to be attached to the man's rib cage and spine, although Bobby suspected the man didn’t have a very human skeleton, no human skeleton would be able to operate with this much strain. The boss finally realised Bobby had approached him and looked up with something between resentment and tiredness in his eyes.

“Go on you’ve humiliated me and my power is no match for you, finish me off with that spell of yours, give me the death I deserve.”

Bobby sighed in response, wincing as his rib moved. “Come on, I know that look, you don’t want death.”

The man stared at him, but didn’t reply.

Bobby continued, “I had that very expression on my face not long ago when I still worked for cubecorp, you see my old life really wasn’t fulfilling, I was in a dead end job with no career progression, my dog had just died and my only wish was to get cryogenically frozen and woken up in a better time.”

  “What changed?” the boss asked.

“I died, and I was reborn anew with purpose.”

  “You… died?”

“Yes, I can remake you too if you want without mind control even, you can help me take over the world, work towards forgiveness for what you’ve done by using your strength to help take down the current world system.”

The boss shrugged, “Sounds nice, but I know I’m beyond redemption, I’ll reject your offer.”

There was a rumbling as the man tried to rise to his feet, but his blood loss and the green gas leak seemed to have finally weakened him, so he wasn’t able to. Bobby leaned down and planted a palm on the monster's forehead. “This will be as good as death for you, because I doubt much will be left of you after I’m done.”

  “Good enough for me.”

Without further hesitation Bobby pushed his way into the soul space, tearing off some of his own soul and implanting it in his opponents ego, destroying the man's mind with the horrifying shriek that he hoped he would never become used to.

As the Boss slumped into the unconscious soul damaged state all his thralls seemed to go through Bobby realised he’d never asked the man for his name.
