On a bright morning at school.
It had been 15 years since she had been reborn in this body.
How is it possible that she didn’t notice it before?
Today, she just realized that this world, which she thought was supposed to be parallel to the world of her past life, was actually inside the world of a romance novel she once read.
A novel where multiple good-looking dudes chase after a single girl–the only girl who has ever ignored them.
If only she had not remembered to flip open the notebook she wrote as a toddler about all the potential stories she might have been reborn into, she might have never known…
There is no such coincidence. The same name. The same school. The same country. The same characters. The same class.
It was far too obvious to her that it was the novel “The class president is too mean!”
A novel featuring a poor female lead, the cold and aloof president of the class, her vice president Do-Hyun, Jin-Woo (the main male lead), and multiple other male lead all vying for her attention.
But that didn’t matter.
The only thing, she thought, was to avoid the main character as much as possible.
She had no interest in getting tangled up in their love. Leave her out of it. She was a thirty-year-old man at heart; she didn't have the energy for high school drama. She just wanted to be a background character–an extra who graduated peacefully and found a stable job. And maybe even have time for anime, manhwa, and even webnovels.
But the thing is… will fate allow her?
After all, her brother was actually the supporting male lead.
And the spoiled rich kid, whom she thought was an unredeemable asshole, was actually the Male lead.
Seriously?
Well, if she remembered right, the dude will definitely improve a lot in terms of personality, so maybe it’s not that bad?
That was her thought as she sat while in the middle of class, staring at the ceiling with a pencil dangling from her lips, completely lost in thought.
She didn’t care that the teacher was lecturing or anything else that was happening around her. She didn’t even notice that several boys in the class were secretly whispering to each other and whistling about her legs.
Ignorantly, she leaned back in her chair, raising her arms high above her head for a massive, cat-like stretch. Her uniform lifted slightly, and the sound of soft fabric shifting made several heads turn.
The boy right next to her and several others who kept secretly sneaking glances at her: “...”
‘It’s so hot. When are they going to set up a conditioner…’ Ji-Soo thought, slumping over her desk like a wilted flower after her stretch. If only I hadn’t rejected Dad and gone with him to the US…
Only in moments like this did she miss her past life. Sure, she was a miserable corporate slave back then, but at least her office had central air conditioning. That cold, artificial breeze was the only thing that gave her comfort.
Although, it was also one of the core reasons that led to her unhappiness.
No matter how hard she tries, she never truly belongs there. So, that’s why she had denied her father despite him trying so hard to convince her that it will be the best thing for her education.
Well, maybe if it’s her in this life, it might have gone differently? But that does not matter.
What matters is the air conditioner! When is it going to be lunch time? She can’t wait to buy a pack of ice cream…
Just thinking about it filled her with ecstasy.
Until–
A piece of chalk flew across the room with the velocity of a bullet. It struck Ji-Soo square in the center of her forehead, shattering into white dust.
Some classmates burst into chuckles while some only reacted in surprise. Some were sleeping.
“OW!”
Ji-Soo clutched her forehead in pain. “Who did it?? Show your face! Don’t be a coward!”
At the front of the room, the homeroom teacher, Miss Rosy, lowered her throwing arm. She was smiling, but her eyes were definitely not.
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“You got a problem, you brat?” Miss Rosy asked sweetly.
Ji-Soo: “...” This is so unfair! Why does she only target me?
But it’s not like she could voice her complaint.
“Haha, no problem. No problem.” Ji-Soo said, scratching the back of her head awkwardly.
“So, Ji-Soo~” Miss Rosy said with her weird smile again. “The next time I see you slumping on your desk like a wet noodle again, I will…”
She slowly drew a finger across her throat.
The whole class: ‘Scary!’
“Haha, got it,” Ji-Soo said, a bead of sweat dropping from her cheeks.
“Good”
“By the way, I have something to tell the whole class.”
The whole class, with some even clasping their hands in silent prayers: Please don’t let it be a test. Please don’t let it be a test.
“We haven’t chosen a class president and vice president yet, right? Let's do that now.”
Miss Rosy closed her book, smiled genuinely at the whole class, and put her book on the table.
“So who wants to be the class president, raise you hand.”
After a few glances here and there, four hands were raised.
Miss Rosy scanned the candidates. Her eyes landed on a familiar, arrogant face.
“Oh~A lot I see. I love your confidence. But, Jin-Woo, why are you raising your hand?” Miss Rosy asked, tilting her head.
Ji-Soo, who has also noticed it: Yeah! Why is that asshole raising his hand? There is no way a spoiled brat like him can be the class president over Seo-Yeon, the female lead!
Jin-Woo’s rich friend, who sat at another table: “Teacher! I think he is a really good fit for this leadership position! I can recommend him!”
“Oh~? Tell me why. Do enlighten us; why do you think he’s so great at his position?” Miss Rosy asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Ki Tae, who stood up immediately: “It’s simple, teacher. Jin-Woo got a great background. He is rich. He has a lot of money, so he could buy a lot of things for the class. He’s also handsome, a heart throb! He is also good at fighting, so he could protect the whole class.”
Ki Tae said, winking at Jin-Woo, who was also smiling at him, then sat back down in his seat, exhaling as if he had just done a thirty-minute-long speech.
“That doesn’t tell the teacher about why he’s a good fit as the class president, does it? You’re just bragging about him,” a calm voice cut in.
Seo-Yeon, one of the 2 girl who raised her hand, and is arguably the prettiest girl in school. If Ji-Soo didn’t exist…
“I agree. His qualities don’t make him fit for the role, teacher.” Do-Hyun said coolly.
Do-Hyun, one of the potential male leads present in this class and is also the only boy aside from Jin-Woo who raised his hand
Ji-Soo: It’s starting…
Jin-Woo’s arrogant smirk faltered. He slammed his hand on his desk. “What do you mean I’m not fit? You’re just some poor nobody who’s jealous of me!”
Do-Hyun, who’s actually secretly rich: “...” look at this guy making a fool of himself.
“And you!” Jin-Woo turned his attention to Seo-Yeon and pointed at her. “Just because you’re a girl doesn’t mean I can’t beat you up.”
Seo-Yeon, was frozen speechless: “...”
“Jin-Woo,” Miss Rosy said, sighing disappointedly. “You’re disqualified.”
The class immediately went into a murmur, whispering among each other and some even chuckle.
Jin-Woo looked around, his face reddened by the second.
“Why?! I thought I was a good fit!” Jin-Woo said, his face as red as a tomato.
“Would you like me to call your mom?” The teacher said with a fake innocent smile.
Ji-Soo: She can smile in so many ways…
Meanwhile, Jin-Woo, on the otherhand froze in his spot.
When Ji-Soo looked, she could even notice his hands were shaking.
“No teacher, I’m good,” Jin-Woo said, sitting back down.
Miss Rosy turned her attention back to the remaining candidates, flipping through her notebook.
"Now then. Among these three…" She studied each of them in turn, then settled on the fourth volunteer—a girl named Lily, who sat near the window with a hopeful expression.
"Lily."
Lily straightened up.
"I'm sorry, dear. I know you have a lot of friends in this class." Miss Rosy's tone was gentle, but her expression conveyed the emotional investment of someone reading a grocery list. "However, since I'm not choosing based on popularity, you'll have to be disqualified as well."
The whole class: Even when delivering a sad news, Miss Rosy still didn’t fail to look like she didn’t care at all…
Lily, feeling disappointed but still determined, looked straight at the teacher: “Why? I thought I was a good fit! I even got good grades.”
The teacher rolled a sarcastic side eye: “Even so, Lily~ your grade still pales in comparison to your opponents. Technically, it’s not even a comparison. But the biggest factor of all is that you have no extracurricular activities.”
“That’s a requirement???”
“Yes! So you might sit,” Miss Rosy said, impatiently gesturing for Lily to sit down.
The teacher flipped through her notebook again, more carefully this time. From time to time, she would murmur to herself this and that. A “wow” would sometimes occasionally leave her lips.
“Okay~ I decided who will be the class president for this school year, everybody,” the teacher said, smiling coquettishly while licking her lips. The whole class, including Ji-Soo, sucked in their breath.
“The Class President for this year is…”
She paused for dramatic effect.
“Do-Hyun!” she finally said.
Ji-Soo: Wait, what? Do-Hyun? Wasn’t it supposed to be Seo-Yeon?! Did she remember the plot incorrectly?
Seo-Yeo,n who opposed it but still raised her hand respectfully: “Teacher, can I know the reason why?”
“What do you think? Obviously because you’re unqualified!” Jin-Woo said in the back row, mocking her just like how we would mock everybody else.
“One more word from you, and I will let you know the taste of my ruler!” Miss Rosy said, roaring like a lion.
Ji-Soo and the others classmate: Serve him right!
“Now for your question, dear,” Miss Rosy continued. “Your grade is very good, the best in the class. Maybe with a little bit more effort, even in the whole school.”
Seo-Yeon: “Then why?”
“You don’t do much extracurricular activities, do you? You know, those things are really important these days, right? Even in college. Better get used to it early.” Miss Rosy said, crossing her arms and tapping her chin.
Seo-Yeon and the whole class: “...” So ruthless.
“Oh, right!” Miss Rosy struck her palm with a fist, as if a realization had struck. “We still have our vice president”
The whole class: “...” Not again?!
“I’m going to do a different approach this time. So who wanted Ji-Soo to be our class vice president raise your hand.”
Ji-Soo, who pointed a finger at herself: Wait, me? The vice president!?
The girls in the class didn’t care. Jin-Woo just scoffed. But the boys in the class were totally different.
They looked at each other. They whispered. They took glances at Ji-Soo.
Ji-Soo, who’s feeling weird out: “...” Where are these weirdo looking at!?
On another table, Hana made a gesture to Ji-Soo that looked like: “I’m…going…to…vote…for…you”
That which she did. And immediately, the boys in class also raised their hands one by one.
The boys in class: Ji-Soo as our vice president? Count me in!
Miss Rosy, Jin-Woo, and Seo-Yeon were all pleasantly surprised. Well, maybe only the teacher.
The other one didn’t like Ji-Soo.
“Ahem. Ahem,” Miss Rosy cleared her throat, surprised by the class’s enthusiasm. “So it’s decided, Ji-Soo will be the class vice president for the school year!”
Ji-Soo: “Why is it me? I didn’t even sign up for it! Isn’t there a better option than me? Like Seo-Yeon, for example? She’s the perfect fit!”
Jin-Woo: “Yeah, why is someone like her chosen? Isn’t it supposed to be about… activities or something?”
Lily and Seo-Yeon on the side nodded, agreeing.
“You see” Miss Rosy said, pondering what to say. “I was trying to do something different. The main class president is based on actual credibility, and vice is based on popularity…I just thought that would create an interesting dynamics”
Literally everyone aside from the one who voted for Ji-Soo: “...” What the hell?
“Actually, I also like Ji-Soo for her credibility, too.” Miss Rosy continued. “Despite how she always looked like a lazy bum, just like most of the boys in our class, she is actually pretty good in her studies! Especially in English, I heard she always got a perfect score.”
Ji-Soo blinked. Well, yeah. I worked in Corporate America for ten years. It would be embarrassing if I didn't.
“And,” Miss Rosy continued, “she has interesting extracurriculars listed here from middle school. Judo, kendo, technology, and…?” Bla, bla, bla.
Ji-Soo: Wait, Mom put those on my application? Those were just things I did to blow off steam from being a girl!
So anyway, that was how Ji-Soo ended up as the vice president for class 1-A.
But is she going to stay in that position for long, and is she actually a good fit? That’s a thing for the future…
