Prologue - The Legend of the Twelve and the Dark Imugi

The world once lived in harmony with the spirits of Yin and Yang.

With their aid, the human race and the Martial World were allowed to prosper to unimaginable heights—until one creature, driven by envy and greed, sought to rob the light from the world.

  The Dark Imugi

Everywhere this creature traveled, darkness and death followed.

Warrior, Magi, Farmer, no matter the title - all were left with nothing but ice in their veins and empty souls.

Until, one day, a group of twelve young Warriors of Light appeared.

Guided by the Unmistaken One; the twelve trained atop the highest mountain to one day put an end to the beast’s tyranny.

Wise Ruler, Fortunate Wolf, Swift Wind, Violet Comet, Wandering Root, Laughing Phoenix, Last Hawk, Agile Spider, Azure Lotus, Twilight Sword, Cold Knight, and Tempestuous Dragon emerged after a hundred years of the Unmistaken One’s guidance.

They tracked the Dark Imugi day by day; learning the truth of its terrible power and the destruction left in its wake…until the day they finally cornered the beast in its cavernous lair.

A dreadful chill invaded their bodies, robbing them of their strength and hope—but not Wise Ruler, the oldest and strongest of the twelve.

Unbeknownst to the others, the Unmistaken One had foreseen this very outcome and left Wise Ruler with the key to succeeding their Master.

  The Agliha

A Sealing technique strong enough to imprison the beast for ten thousand years.

Using the last of his strength, Wise Ruler cast his fellow disciples from the cavern.

He then activated their master’s seal and locked the Dark Imugi away, imprisoning it beneath the very mountain it once called home.

And so, the Twelve became the Eleven.

Wise Ruler never emerged from the Cavern to rejoin his brothers and sisters.

But neither did the Dark Imugi.

The Monster's reign of Terror and Malice had finally been brought to an end by the might of Twelve and the Sacrifice of One.

Later accounts of this legend remain unclear - No doubt lost to the Silent Age. But this author believes one thing to be true.

If the Dark Imugi existed. If the legends were true. Then the Seal must be protected at all costs.

For if the Dark Imugi should ever see the light of day a boundless reign of darkness will surely follow.
