I will be taking a short break from posting new chapters. The next chapter will release on Monday, December 8th at 10 AM EST.

  The reason for this pause is quite simple. I am exhausted. I have worked multiple seventy-hour weeks in a row as an overnight truck driver while also trying to balance life at home with my wife and our infant. I need some time to rest, reset my sleep schedule, and get my mental state back to a healthier place.

  After I return from this break, I will be changing the posting schedule to one chapter per week. Continuing the story while also rewriting the earlier sections has been much more complicated than I expected. Managing two timelines at once has become difficult, and I want to devote more time and focus to finishing the rewrite, which has slowed down significantly over the past couple of weeks. Creating background reference files and keeping everything consistent has been overwhelming, and I need more space to do it properly.

  Regarding the rewrite itself, I plan to focus on it more directly so I can finish it as soon as possible. My goal is to have it completed by the end of the year, although I cannot promise that for certain. Reducing the posting schedule will give me the time I need to make steady progress.

  My writing process is fairly time intensive. I outline the chapter, draft it, edit it, evaluate it, then edit it again one or two more times. A single chapter often takes five or six hours to complete. Doing this twice a week while still caring for my infant and spending time with my wife has left me with very little time to continue the rewrite. Once the rewrite is finished, I will have a backlog to work from, which will help reduce the pressure.

  When the rewrite is complete, I am planning to post it under a brand new URL with the hope of making it onto RoyalRoad Rising Stars. I will be reaching out to other authors for shoutout swaps and review swaps ahead of the relaunch. The fact that the story has gained nearly fifty followers without any promotion makes me hopeful that it has real potential.
