Chapter 73: Wing Frogs 3

  “There’s no end to them.”

With his extremely durable body, Anon ignored the incoming attacks and focused entirely on killing the Frog Warriors.

But no matter how many he cut down, more kept pouring out of the pond.

“Kenji, let me switch.” Watching the chaotic battlefield, Keni grew excited, eager to experience the thrill of combat.

“Now… is not… a good time,” Kenji replied through gritted teeth.

Even he was feeling the pressure as there were simply too many Frog Warriors.

With one hand, he launched [Ki Blades], while the other fired [Beam]. Even so, the number of Frog Warriors surrounding him continued to grow.

“Just watch how I deal with them.” Ignoring him, Keni forcefully took control.

Activating [Enforce], he gripped his sword tightly and charged forward.

Unlike Kenji, Keni wanted to experience the thrill of battle. So, he deliberately avoided using long-range skills.

“Kenji, what are you doing? Now’s not the time to train your sword skills!” Anon shouted as he noticed an increase in Frog Warriors.

Despite already killing dozens of Frog Warriors, the swarm showed no signs of thinning.

“Damn it!” Distracted for a moment while speaking, Anon lost focus.

A powerful kick sent him flying, his sword slipping from his grasp. Left with no choice, he continued fighting with his fists.

“Keni… listen to me… now is not the time for this,” Kenji said as more Frog Warriors closed in.

  “You’re right… it’s time to get serious.”

Keni’s expression shifted. He stopped holding back.

A [Ki Blade], twice the normal size, slashed forward, followed by a massive continuous [Beam] erupting from his left palm.

  “My man!”

“This… how…K-Keni… how did you… do that?” Kenji was shocked by both moves Keni used.

A larger [Ki Blade] wasn’t a problem; he could do that too if he used more Ki, but the Ki ray coming from his hand was something entirely new.

“It was [Beam], the skill you learned. Instead of concentrating Ki at a single point, I just let a large amount of Ki flow out of my hand toward the target,” Keni explained, looking at the dead Frog Warriors around him.

“It’s effective, but the consumption is too high. Now, how to recover Ki? …Wow, so easy.”

After using the Ki ray, Keni had depleted most of his reserves. So, he deactivated [Enforce] and began collecting Ki from the surrounding dead Frog Warriors to keep going.

“That’s an amazing skill you learned. I wish I was half as talented as you, then I wouldn’t have to waste so much money,” Anon said.

After Keni’s attack, he finally had a chance to catch his breath and couldn’t help but praise Kenji’s talent.

“What happened here? Didn’t I tell you guys to run?”

As Keni and Anon prepared for another wave of Frog Warriors, Zhen emerged from the pond, enclosed in a transparent cube.

Since Zhen had researched Wind Frogs, he knew that every small pond had hundreds of Frog Warriors protecting their King.

That was why, the moment he dived into the pond, he told the trio to run.

Seeing another human appear, the Frog Warriors attacked Zhen frantically. However, their combined attacks weren’t even able to form a crack in the shields.

“Don’t just stand there, run!” Zhen shouted.

His Ki reserves were nearly depleted, and he wouldn’t be able to keep the [Shields] up for much longer.

“What about the bodies?” Anon asked.

They had killed more than 50 Frog Warriors. Even if they were going to run, they shouldn’t leave the carcasses behind.

“Forget it. We will come back for them later!” Zhen shouted as the [Shields] around him disappeared.

Hearing the order, Anon turned around and ran. Joon, who was farther away, saw this and also retreated, leaving the Frog Warriors behind.

Now, only Keni was left, standing and fighting a large group of Frog Warriors.

“Keni, why…aren’t you…getting away? After the…Ki runs out, it will…be very difficult to…avoid these…Frog Warriors.” While Keni was enjoying the battle, Kenji was growing increasingly worried.

Absorbing all the residual Ki was only enough to maintain [Enforce] for a few more moments.

“Kenji!! What are you doing?” Zhen shouted when he noticed Kenji wasn’t behind him.

“Fine, but you have to let me fight again.” Keni didn’t care about Zhen, but Kenji’s words were true, there was hardly any Ki left.

Focusing Ki toward the chakra point in his legs, Keni leaped into the air and landed beside Zhen in a single jump. However, that jump consumed all the remaining Ki.

“Good, let’s go.” Zhen, who was about to explode at Kenji for his reckless behavior, calmed down when Kenji arrived beside him.

Seeing the humans escape, the Frog Warriors desperately followed in pursuit.

“Kenji, hurry up,” Zhen said as he saw the Frog Warriors closing in.

“I don’t have any Ki left,” Keni replied, trying to figure out how Ki recovery worked.

  “You…don't need to…gather so…much Ki into…a ball. You aren't…increasing the…volume of the…Source Ki, you are just…recovering Ki. Guide…the Ki…directly into…the Source Ki.”

Seeing Keni struggling to figure out how to recover the lost Ki, Kenji began guiding him.

“Like this,” Following Kenji’s guidance, Keni was able to see his Ki reserves recovering little by little.

“Ahh!!” As Keni was busy recovering Ki, a Frog Warrior appeared out of nowhere and landed an extremely hard kick on his face.

Without the support of Ki, Keni was sent rolling on the ground with a broken jawbone.

“Damn it!” Zhen turned around and started having a brawl with the incoming Frog Warriors, “Kenji, get up.”

No matter how much Zhen called, Keni wasn't moving.

Keni was experiencing body shock for the first time, and he got lost in the numbness of his face and the alarms going off in his head.

“Anon! Help him!” Seeing that Kenji wasn't moving, Zhen had no choice but to call Anon.

“I am…fine.” Having the control back, Kenji got up and got away using [Flash].

As Kenji was a safe distance from the Frog Monsters, Zhen stopped fighting, turned around, and ran at his full speed.

With the blessings of his gift [Fast], it wasn't long before he left all the Frog Warriors in the dust.

All four of them left the Wind Frogs territory without looking back. Finally, in a safe place, they started recuperating.

“I think…I have…to see the…doctor.” Kenji said while carefully touching his disfigured face. Even a slight touch was very painful.
